Mulder thinks the answer is paranormal. Scully thinks it can be explained scientifically. Mulder and Scully drive to a distant location in yet another rental car. They visit a crime scene. Scully performs an autopsy, Mulder witnesses something unusual. Mulder and Scully investigate another site on a dark, spooky night rather than during the daytime like normal people. One of them is nearly killed. The case remains unsolved, although the answer is closer to Mulder's paranormal idea than to Scully's scientific idea. Whichever one isn't nearly killed visits the other in the hospital. They smile and hold hands. Chris Carter sits back and laughs. THE END
