CLIFFHANGER Mulder hung over the abyss, his entire being focused on the tenuous grip on his terrified partner below. "Don't let me go! Please God MULDER!" Mulder's strained grunting was his only reply. Inch, by torturous inch, he pulled her up, supported on the slick gravel only by the force of his will. She had no way to help herself up. Great beads of sweat bathed him in salty grime. Each had punishing grip on the other. It wasn't enough. "Scully-" he panted, "You're - slipping! Their entire relationship whirled in carnival madness behind his eyes. His jaw set, "NO!!" Scully's stricken face searched his face, seeing the inevitable. " I love you Mulder, I always have." A surreal smile broke across her face as she slipped away, leaving Mulder grasping at thin air. "NOOOO!!!!!!!!!" Mulder's heart burst with pain and loss. "OW!" "Scully?" "You *bastard*!
