Warm

 

 

They were stranded in this awful ice station because of the storm. They
had just found the former inhabitant's quarters and they had just
decided to take a break and rest a little.

 

Scully was tired and she couldn't control the fear and the cold that
were taking residence in her body. The people here have died of a
violent death and she couldn't start to explain why. She sat on the bed
and her thoughts wandered to her partner. 

 

She was attracted to him more each and everyday. She realised that it
was unprofessional but in this wild area, she had to survive and
thinking about him kept her warm.

 

"Stop it Dana!" she admonished herself.

 

She started to laugh hysterically. She was stopped by a knock at the
door. She opened  to a bare-chested Mulder. She gaped at the beautiful
sight, melting under his worried hazel gaze.

 

"Is something wrong, Scully?"

 

"No.sorry to have disturbed you. I am so wired that I can't sleep,
that's all"

 

He entered in her room, feeling that she was in an unusual mood.

 

"What's wrong?" He whispered.

 

"I don't know. I am cold and tired. I just need to sleep." She answered
softly.

 

He nodded, suddenly understanding that his partner was afraid and cold
and not ready to admit it. He just had to take matters in his own hands.

 

"Come here"

 

He turned down the bedclothes and patted the mattress. She felt a
tingling in her chest, anticipating the thrill to sleep next to him. She
reclined in the bed and he asked her to scout over. He joined her,
switched off the light and covered them with the thick comforter.

He embraced her from behind, spooning. She felt warm and good instantly.

 

"You okay?"

 

"Yes.Thanks Mulder."

 

"You are welcome"

 

They fell asleep,  both thinking that they innocently just kept each
other warm but it was the first step toward a change in their
relationship.
