All That's Left He smiled at her as she put her legs up on the coffee table and gulped down half a bottle of beer in one smooth swallow. That was what he adored about her. She didn't much care for being a lady. Her dark eyes grinned up at him from over the bottle before she set it back down and reached for the pretzels. "I'm covered in sweat." She stated as she grabbed a handful. He nodded before taking a seat next to her on the couch. They sat in silence like that for a long time, watching the races on television and pretending that the last year had never happened. "Where do you think they went?" She asked softly, regarding him for a moment with sad eyes. "I don't know." He answered, putting a protective arm around her shoulder. She stared at him for a long time unable to shake the feeling in her gut. Unable to shake the loss that she felt. "So John, what do we do now?" "I don't know, we're all that's left." End.
