XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Some of you might have remembered Deep Throat's final line in "Fallen Angel" as being stolen...uh, borrowed from "The Godfather." Chris Carter, in fact, has wanted to make other tributes to films of the seventies on his show. Here are some scenes that got cut out -- In "Redux II," Mulder kisses Blevins and says, "I knew it was you, Blevins." Mulder's speech in "Terma" was originally supposed to be in front of a big American flag. ("A soldier doesn't try to die for his planet. He tries to make the other dumb bastard die for his planet!") In "Small Potatoes," the shape-changer was supposed to look at a mirror and say, "You talkin' to..." Wait, they did include that. Cut scene from "Piper Maru" -- a nude wrestling scene between Krycek and Mulder. Mulder escapes from the Russian gulag by throwing a sink through a window. Thirty-minute improvisational scenes between Scully and the therapist in "Irresistible." Original musical ending to "Post-Modern Prometheus" -- Scully rides on Mulder's bike while "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" plays on the soundtrack. Frohike: "All right, let me explain this clearly. I want a chicken salad sandwich..." Original costume for Scully -- big glasses and necktie. "Ice" was first conceived to be in an upside-down cruise ship. In "Patient X," people were supposed to have been drawn to a site by mysterious alien...oh, they did that one, too. Duane Barry chanting "Roswell! Roswell!" in front of a cheering crowd. Skinner's chase scene in "Sein und Zeit" was supposed to have been much longer and in a car chasing after a subway. "Avatar" was also meant to reveal Skinner's taste for white polyester and getting down on the dance floor (though you can see Mitch Pileggi wear a leisure suit in "That 70's Show.") Chris Carter originally wanted Mulder and Scully to keep bellowing each other's names as another couple do at the end of a certain boxing movie. Luckily, he changed his mind, right? Original first image of Mulder in "The Pilot" -- dressed up in a tuxedo, wearing pale makeup, and singing, "Wilkom..." Alternate line of closing dialogue from "Requiem" -- "Love means never having to say you're sorry." Also expunged from "Requiem" -- CSM: "The horror, the horror!" Expunged -- "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!" (Various watchers of the show, however, seem to have adopted this as their motto.) "Never Again." A stick of butter. Scully's ass. 'Nuff said. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
