Garrison Summary: The power of love. Disclaimer: None of these characters belong to me. They are all the property of Fox, 1013, and CC. Spoilers: Existence Author's Notes: I hadn't intended on writing a post-ep for the finale, but this just came to me and my muse wouldn't let me sleep until I jotted it down. The scene with Reyes and the whale songs bugged me. It just didn't quite seem to fit, so I had to come up with an explanation. ? This is for the members of IWTB. You are a wonderful group, and I'm proud to be a part of it all. Thank you. Turning away from the doorway of the bedroom, I have to wipe a tear from my eye. I'd always hoped to be able to see you with your own family one day. You will be such a good mother. Remember when we used to talk and dream late at night? You wished for that knight in shining armor who would sweep you off your feet and love you forever. That was back before little Bobby Moran pushed you off your bike and broke your arm. Then you decided that you didn't need any man to protect you. You could slay your own dragons, thank you very much. Well, munchkin, you finally found your knight. His armor's a bit tarnished, but he'll still slay all your dragons and love you forever. It's so nice to see you so happy. You've suffered so much over the last few years. I've done what I could to protect you, but I haven't been able to spare you all the pain. Did you hear me whisper in your ear while you were pregnant with Will that everything would be okay? That Will was truly a miracle? A baby born of the love you and Fox shared? Did you know I sat by your bedside and agonized with you every minute you were held hostage by that worm worshipping cult? I helped lead Agent Doggett to you in time to save your life. When you were thrown against that wall by the shape shifter, and later when you experienced the other difficulties with your pregnancy, I spread my healing touch over you, helping to keep you and your baby safe. I held you in my arms while you wept over Fox's death. All of us did. And we helped to deliver him back to you where he belongs. I came to you while you were in labor. Monica's open mind allowed me to speak to you for just a moment. I knew you would recognize me when I started talking about the whale songs. She gave me the chance to tell you something I should have said years ago. You are beautiful Dana. I know you always felt that you were the plain one in the family. I was older than you and blossomed first, Baby Sister, but you have become the true beauty in the family. Your strength and kindness radiate from you. You'll need that strength in the coming months and years. Daddy, Fox's Samantha, his parents, and myself have been able to cloud the aliens' minds for now. They think Will is a normal human child and no threat to them anymore. I don't know how long we can fool them. Will is yours and Fox's, but he's also so much more. He is immune to the alien threat, and his existence is key to the survival of the human race. Protect him well, Dana. We'll be here for you when you need us. We love all three of you. After all, it was our light that helped guide Fox to your side after you'd given birth. Our light will continue to light your way through the coming gloom. Never doubt that. But for now, cherish the moment. Give Fox and little Will an extra kiss for me. Gliding out into the cool night air, I look up at the stars. Picking mine out, I allow the light to guide me back home.
