Okay, I'm back with another story. This is the outcome from
sitting outside for 8 hours and actually getting paid for it. Besides
defining the word Boredom, I decided to write another X-Files story.
So here it is.

DISCLAIMER: Of course we all know by now that the X-Files, Mulder,
Scully, Mrs. Scully and Skinner are owned by the most AWESOME creator
ever...Mr. Chris Carter. But at the moment, I'm just borrowing them.

I might not be corrected on how many years it has actually
been, but I couldn't look it up because like I said I wrote this thing
outside without a tv or vcr around. So if I'm a little off, I'm sorry.
But I do hope you all enjoy it.

SCULLY'S APARTMENT
4:37 A.M.

"Mulder...Mulder, help me. I need your help. Mulder!..."
Sitting straight up, Scully blinked rapidly and clutched onto
her blankets.
"It was only a dream. Just a dream." She told herself as she
released her blankets. Closing her eyes, she laided back down.
"Nothing to worry about, Dana. Just go back to sleep."

F.B.I BUILDING
BASEMENT OFFICE
7:45 A.M.

"Excuse me, Agent Mulder." A young lady said.
Recognizing the voice to be Skinner's secretary, Mulder
stopped what he was doing. "Yes."
"Agent Scully will not be coming in today. Assistant Director
Skinner has given her the day off."
"Thank you." Mulder replied as he watched the young lady turn
and leave.

Standing at the edge of her bed, Scully was amazed. "Looks
like a tornado came through here."

Talking to himself as he worked, Mulder tried to figure things
out. "Maybe she isn't feeling good. She has looked a little woren
out."

"My head." Scully said as she rubbed her forehead. Looking up
into the mirror, she continued. "Boy, do I look bad."

"Maybe I'll call her later. See how she is feeling."

"Alright, time to get some sleep." She said as she laided down
on the couch. "Got to sleep, Dana."

	"I just hope she's fine."

SCULLY'S APARTMENT
10:30 A.M.

"Ah...Mulder, Mulder help me. I need your help. Mulder!..."
Scully said as she bolted straight up. Rubbing her eyes, she took deep
breaths then calmed herself down. "Just a dream. Nothing to be scared
of."
But that didn't calm her down because when the phone rang, she
jumped.
	"Hello..."
	"Dana, that you?..."
	"Hi mom..."
	"You okay, honey?..."
Regretting answering the phone, Scully lied. "Yes, I'm fine.
Just forgot something..."
"Oh. Okay, I was just phoning to see if you would like to
babysit Chrissy tonight. Bill and Beth are going to that concert..."
"Sorry mom, I can't. But you know, I really do have to go..."
	"Alright honey..."
	"Bye mom..."
	"Bye honey..."
After closing her phone, she threw it towards a chair across
her living room. She didn't actually care where it landed.

12:35 P.M.

"This is crazy. My head is throbbing, food doesn't appeal to
me and I can't sleep." Scully said to herself as she wandered around
her apartment. "I'm a doctor for goodness sake. I should know what's
wrong with me.'

F.B.I BUILDING
BASEMENT OFFICE
1:50 P.M.

"Well, I might as well go home." Mulder told himself.
Gathering some files together, he continued. "It's to quiet without
Scully around."

2:27 P.M.

Watching her pillow land, Scully sighed. There she was sitting
in her favourite chair, uncomfortable and wide awake.
"Sheesh Dana, you haven't slept for the last 36 hours or eaten
anything for that matter. But oh well, life is life."

2:49 P.M.

"Maybe I should call her. Oh no, I better not. She might bite
my head off for not staying at work." Mulder told himself as he turned
his computer on.

3:02 P.M.

"Where did I put that remote?" Scully said as she searched her
living room. "Found you."
Flicking on the tv, Scully channel surfed at least five time
before she found something interesting. "Better then nothing."

3:16 P.M.

"Done." Mulder announced to his empty apartment. "Now I'll
check my e-mail."
Clicking onto his mail icon, Mulder scanned the short list.
"Frohike, Frohike, Frohike, Langely, Langely and Scully." Mulder read.
Clicking on Scully's, he read it. "Not feeling to well. I
think there might be a flu going around. I'm going to stay home today.
See you tomorrow."
With that, he then turned his computer off.

4:46 P.M.

"Mulder, help me. I need you. Mulder!..."
Sitting up, Scully gasped. "Another dream. That's all. You
have to stop doing this, Dana."

5:30 P.M.

"You've reach the answering machine of Dana Scully, as you
already noticed, I'm not home so if you leave your name and number,
I'll get back to you as soon as I can...BEEP..."
Speaking into his phone, Mulder said. "Hey Scully, it's just
me. I'm phoning to see how you're feeling. I'll call you later."

5:32 P.M.

She had heard the whole message. And she had even answered
him, too.
"Fine, Mulder. I'm doing just fine."

6:00 P.M.

Now it was his turn to channel surf. Mulder sat on his couch,
eyes glued to the tv, finger clicking the channel button and his mind
on Scully.

6:15 P.M.

"Mulder, I need you. Help me, Mulder. Mulder!..."
Opening her eyes, Scully begun to cry.

6:21 P.M.

"Hey Scully..." Mulder begun to say on her answering machine.
"Just calling to..."
	"Mulder..."
Recognizing the voice and the sound of it, he got concerned.
"Scully, you okay?..."
	"Mulder..."
"I'm on my way." Mulder said and hung up before she could
refuse.

6:45 P.M.

Taking his gun out, Mulder slowly pushed her door open. He
knew it wasn't like Scully to leave her door open. He proceed into her
apartment with extreme caution.
When he determined the apartment was clear, he set out to find
Scully.
He found her in the far corner of her room. She was all curled
up in a ball, crying.
Holstering his gun, he slowly bent down in front of her.
"Scully, it's me Mulder."
"Mulder." Scully begun. But a few minutes passed before she
spoke again. "I need you."
Knowing there was really something wrong with her, he got up.
He walked back to the front door, locked it. On the way back to her
room, he put his holster and gun on the kitchen table then proceed to
the bathroom. After location a wash cloth, he wet it and returned to
Scully.
Bending down, he spoke. "Scully, I'm here. I'm not going
anywhere."
"Mulder." Scully said as her head buried in her arms.
"Yes. I'm not leaving you." He said as he sat down. "I'm
here."
Lifting her head, she looked over at him. "It won't go away.
It just keeps coming and coming."
Reaching out, he touched her left cheek with his left hand. "I
don't understand, Scully."
	"Voices. One voice."
Moving some of her hair off her face, Mulder spoke softly.
"What voice?"
	"I don't know. My voice."
Establishing that much, Mulder asked. "What's it saying?"
"I need you. Help me, Mulder." Scully said as she begun to cry
harder. "Please, help me."
Rubbing her cheek, Mulder thought about how he could reasure
her. How he could help her. "It's okay, Scully."
Inbetween sobbs, Scully spoke. "Don't let them take me."
Puzzled even more, Mulder asked. "Let who take you, Scully?"
	"The men."
"Men!" Mulder repeated. "Scully, no men are going to take
you."
	"They did once." She cried.
Thinking to himself, Mulder tried putting everything together.
But nothing worked. "Who Scully?"
"Those men. The ones who took me."
Finally it dawned on him. Men, her needing him and them taking
her. It made sense. Sliding forward, Mulder placed his other hand on
her face. "Scully, listen to me. No one is going to take you."
"How do you know?" She asked back. But then she broke down
again. "How do you know? How?"
"Because I'm here. No one can take you, I won't let them."
Mulder begun. "And most of all Scully, you're safe."
The last word he spoke brought her out of the state she was
in. She ended up launching forward at him.
Mulder's reaction was to catch her in his arms. From the
instant he wrapped his arms around her, she collapsed.
Craddling her in his arms, Mulder sat patiently waiting for
her. He couldn't really tell if she was sleeping or not but he didn't
mind.

9:00 P.M.

When he noticed Scully started to stir, he again waited
patiently. He had remained on the floor but managed to slid backwards
until his back was touching the foot of her bed.
	"Mulder?"
	"Still here. Not going anywhere."
Sitting up, Scully waited till her eyes adjusted. "I fell
asleep."
	"Ya."
	"You waited?"
"Wasn't going to leave you, Scully. Not now, not ever."
"Thank you." Scully said as she rubbed her eyes.
Reaching out to his right, he retrieved a damp facecloth.
Giving it to her, he explained. "Thought you may need this."
Taking it, she wiped her eyes. "Thank you, Mulder."
"Your welcome." Mulder replied as he heard Scully's stomach.
"Have you eaten anything?"
	"No."
"Want me to make you something?"
	"I don't know."
"Go wash up and I'll make you some soup." Mulder said as
Scully got up. Then him. "I'll be just in the kitchen."

9:40 P.M.

Watching her make circles in her soup with her spoon, Mulder
spoke. "What else is bugging you?"
Not looking up, she answered. "Nothing. Just this. Why now?"
Looking at his watch, he checked the date. "Because this is
the exact day, 2 years ago they took you."
Looking up, she read his face. It was true of what he was
saying. Letting tears roll down, she asked. "So why is it affecting me
now, why didn't it affect me last year?"
"Last year, we were busy. We were off on a case. You didn't
have time to think about it. This year, you do." Mulder answered.
Out of the blue, Scully said something Mulder never thought
she would say. At least not now. "I must look horrible."
Looking up, Mulder saw how hard she was trying to liven up the
conversation. "Not that bad. Although, you've looked about the same
when..."
Cutting him off, Scully spoke. "Don't you dare say it."
Smiling, Mulder said. "Great minds think a like."
"Yes." Scully replied. "I'm going to go take a shower."
	"I'm not going anywhere."
"Thanks Mulder." Scullly said as she got up.

Looking around her living room, Scully noticed something
different.
"I cleaned a bit. Hope you don't mind."
"No. By chance, did you find my phone?"
	"Nope."
"Oh well." Scully said as she sat down beside Mulder on the
couch.
"When it rings, we'll find it."
"True." Scully agreed. "I'm so tired."
"When's the last time you slept?" Mulder asked as he put his
arm on the back of the couch.
	"40 hours?"
"I know Mulder, I know. But everytime I'd close my eyes, I'd
end up screaming for you."
	"Everything is okay, now."
	"I know."
"Why don't you get some sleep."
	"No."
	"You sure."
	"For now."
Flicking on the tv, Mulder flipped threw a few channels until
he found the sports channel "Do you mind?"
"No. Go ahead." Scully said as she leaned her head on Mulder's
shoulder.

11:32 P.M.

Channel surfing, Mulder spoke at the sametime. "Do you want to
watch anything, Scully?" But when he got no answer, he looked down.
Scully was sleeping peacefully but she was clutching his
shirt.
Being the gentleman he was, he close the tv then proceeded to
pick Scully up.

Laying her gently down on her bed, Mulder tried to pull away
but she still had a hold of his shirt.
	"Don't leave me." She mumbled.
Not wanting to leave her, Mulder laided down beside her. "I'm
not leaving. Sleep Scully."

3:45 A.M.

"Mulder, I need you. Help me, Mulder. Mulder!..." Scully
screamed in her sleep.
Awakening right away, Mulder wrapped his arms around her and
tried his best to calm her down. "Scully, I'm here. Everything is
fine. You're safe, Scully."
Putting her head on his chest, she grabbed on to his shirt,
again. As she clutched onto it, she started to cry. "I'm stronger then
this." She mumbled.
"I know Scully. But even strong people have off days." Mulder
said as he placed a hand on her head. Stroking her hair, he continued.
"Everything is going to be fine. I'm here and you're safe. I'm not
leaving. It's okay."

5:03 A.M.

Opening her eyes, Scully woke to find Mulder's shirt in front
of her face.
	"You okay?"
"I guess. My head is throbbing and my eyes are sore."
"I'll get you a tylonel and a wet cloth." Mulder offered.
	"Thanks."

Watching her wipe her eyes, he never said a word. He just let
her take her time.
	"You can go."
"No, that's okay but I'll stay. I'm not leaving till
everything is fine."
	"But everything is fine."
	"Is it?"
Looking up at Mulder, she couldn't look him in the eyes.
"Anyways, I'm staying." He said as he rephrased the saying 'I
thought so.' He knew that was something Scully didn't need to hear at
the moment.
	"But you must be tired."
"I'm fine. It's you I'm more worried about. You need sleep."
"I know." Scully said as she got up from the bed. As she
walked towards the window, she continued. "It's just hard to sleep."
	"I know."
"Maybe I should go to work."
	"No way."
Turning around, she looked over at Mulder. "But it might take
my mind of off it."
"No Scully. It will be like you're running from it and you do
have to come back to it."
Sighing, she spoke. "You're right. I just don't want to close
my eyes."
Walking over to her, Mulder looked down. "You're going to have
to. But not to worry, I'll be right here."
	"Thanks."
Taking her right hand into his left hand, Mulder lead her over
to the bed. "Try to get some sleep. I'll be near."
Letting his hand go, not before getting a squeeze from Mulder,
she laided down. Pulling a single blanket up onto herself, she spoke.
"Don't go far."
	"I won't."

7:24 A.M.

	"Help me, Mulder!..."
	"Scully, it's okay."
Opening her eyes, she sat straight up and wrapped her arms
around him. "Make it stop."
Wishing he could, Mulder held on to her. "I'm trying."

8:01 A.M.

While he craddled her in his arms, he spoke on the phone.
"Sir..."
"Yes Agent Mulder..." An older man, they're boss A.D. Skinner
said through the phone.
"I won't be coming in today..."
	"Why not?..."
Just before he was going to answer, Scully moved. She grabbed
onto his shirt but never woke up.
	"Agent Mulder, you there?..."
"Sorry sir, I'm taking care of Agent Scully. She's sick..."
Mulder answered, only half telling the truth.
"Is she okay?..." Skinner asked with concern.
"Yes. She needs some rest and liquids."
"Alright." Skinner replied. Before hanging up, he continued.
"Take care of her, Agent Mulder."

10:29 A.M.

Waking up, Mulder looked down to find Scully awake. "You
okay?"
"Fine. I just want to sleep."
"Okay. Just give me a minute." Mulder said as he got up. When
he returned he handed her a wet cloth.
After wiping her eyes, she then, Scully got up. When she
returned, she re-positioned herself in Mulder's arms.
Instantly, she fell asleep while Mulder stayed away for awhile
but soon, fell asleep, also.

8:14 P.M.

Opening her eyes, Scully found Mulder to be holding her as he
had been earlier. He never left her side.
	"How'd you sleep?"
Looking up at him, she answered. "Didn't know you were awake."
	"Been for awhile."
"Oh." Scully said as she sat up abit but was still in his
arms. "I slept okay. Eventhough it was only for a few hours."
	"Actually Scully..." Mulder begun.
	"What?"
"You slept for about ten hours." Mulder finished.
	"Ten hours?"
	"Yes."
	"Wow. I'm amazed."
"Now all you need to do is sleep another 30 hours and you'll
be caught up." Mulder joked.
"Very funny. But seriously, I didn't wake up once during those
ten hours."
	"Nope. You slept straight through."
	"What about you?"
	"What about me?
	"Did you sleep?"
	"Yes."
	"For those ten hours?"
	"Almost."
	"Almost. How long Mulder?"
	"Nine hours or more."
"That's good. But now, I'm hungry."
Smiling, Mulder answered. "That's a good sign."

9:30 P.M.

	"The food was good."
"Good. Now that you've eaten, I want you to get some more
sleep before you get sick." Mulder replied.
"I'm fine, Mulder." Scully said as she looked at her plate.
"Ya right, Scully. Fine, my foot." Mulder said harshly but
then he realized it. "I'm sorry, Scully. I just want you to get
better. Be that strong person, you are."
Looking up, Scully gave him a small smile. "Don't go."
"I won't. There is no way you're getting rid of me. Only until
you become that strong person, you are and toss me out."
"That will definitely happen but for now..."
Finishing her sentence, Mulder said. "It's time to get some
sleep."
	"Yes. Umm...Mulder."
Looking over at his partner, he answered. "Yes."
"Stay close to me. I'm still not strong."
	"I'll be right beside you."

Craddling her in his arms, once again, Mulder spoke softly.
"I'll always be here, Scully. You'll always be safe. Night."
Clutching on to his shirt, Scully closed her eyes. "I know.
Night Mulder."
