Mulder and Scully stand guard at a Billy Joel concert looking for a would be killer, as they let the lyrics of the songs express their true feelings for one another. This story snuck up on me driving through the New Mexico desert late at night, listening to Billy Joel's Greatest Hits Vol 3, while trying to resolve a plot twist in my latest fan-fic story, after 8 or 9 hours of driving. I realized many of the songs reflected the relationship of our intrepid heros. The songs are kind of a soundtrack to the piece, with the lyrics on the left side and the action of the right. Sometimes they just listen to the songs - those are the critical lyrics. This unusual format is best read if your viewer is set to 100 characters wide. He made a request for off duty law enforcement officers to volunteer to re-enforce the private security and the PD patrols. The security team was debriefed during a break in the concert. The suspect was the brother of a man killed in Vietnam after being held as a P.O.W. He was under treatment for paranoid schizophrenia and harbored a resentment for Communist sympathizers. As strange as it seems, he thought Billy Joel was a spy since he toured the USSR and wrote the song "Leningrad" as a tribute to heart of the Russia people. He currently worked as an assistant rigger for the stadium which was how he was able to hide the weapon before the concert and gain access to the rafters. The Chief of Security recognized all the member of other agencies who offered their assistance and especially Mulder for the "enthusiastic" pursuit and capture of the suspect. With the suspect in custody, all the additional agents were released but were welcomed to stay of the remained of the concert. It was standing room only but there were several small observation rooms on each level. Scully took the offer to take a break but Mulder was still too pumped up and went back out on the floor.
