Tarma and Kethri Baby It was a bright day as Mulder sat up in bed, and put on his shoes. The birds were singing, pretty birds they were indeed. Nothing could have made the day more perfect, Fox though gleefully. Soon he would be eating bagels on his porch, and he would feed tasty to the birds as they chattered away at him. Why did they always seem so happy? It had been years since Fox had been really happy. The birds would sit and sing their songs, and now he knew why. Every day, Mulder looked forward to seeing the very pregnant Scully in the basement. He could hardly control his giddiness at seeing her in the morning, leaning against the desk. Judging from her stomach and due date, she was about to burst. Not that he would mind. He wanted to see his baby more than anything now, he could imagine its' wrinkled head and beautiful bulging eyes, the way it would love him more than life itself. More than his real family ever could, more than anyone could love. His precious baby, which would be named Macenzie. A girl, with Maybe it would look like Scully, Mulder thought. Smiling and nodding, he crammed the bagel down his throat. He was too impatient to see Scully, he could not eat. Not a bite, he thought, licking his lips. The birds chirped in agreement. "Isn't it great?!" He cried out. There was no response, so Mulder shrugged and tied his tie tighter. His tie was never tight enough, he could not make his tie tight not matter how tight he tied it. After tying his tie tighter, Mulder put on his pants and he left for work. He threw his briefcase in the trunk. The papers flew everywhere, and his good mood was lost as he said, "Damn!" and picked them back up. He drove to work, while pulling on his tie because it was too tight. When he got to the parking lot he opened his truck and to his surpise, the papers were strewn everywhere again. His bad mood vanished, however, when he walked into his office. He saw Scully's belly which was as huge as a bloated dogs' stomach, and it made him happy. He started to whistle the same tune as the birds. Now he understood why birds liked to sing, because he liked to sing too. : Nothing could wake him up from his blistful dream, even when he dropped his briefcase and the papers went all over the floor. Scully got up to help him and bent over even though her huge stomach was in the way. Mulder thought it was so sweet of her though….. "You're in a good mood today." Scully smiled. "Well, I finally have something to smile about." Scully laughed out loud, and continued to try and pick up papaers off the floor. "How are you feeling, Scully?" Scully looked up. "Just fine, except for my swolleness. Here are your papers." She stood up unsteadily, and handed Mulder his papers, and suddenly she groaned. "Owwch!" she cried. "What is it?" Mulder chirped, his voice becoming worried. "Is it the baby?" Scully nodded. "It hurts. sometimes. I think I better go home for a while and lie down." Mulder laughed. "Will you be all right?" Scully said nothing, she was holding her enourmous stomach. "I don't think I can drive. Owwch!" her face crumpled lime an impoding can in hot water. "Owch!" Mulder could barely stop himself from laughing. She was so cute when she was in pain! "Aww, shucks. I'll drive ya home, Scully-o." Scully managed a smile. "Great." There was a long pause as they stared at eachother, each one eating the others thoughts as the cool air swooshed around them, and the sound of feet overhead drowned out Scully's labored breathing. She was truly in pain, but it did not matter. Scully stepped forward, her eyes closing as she felt Mulder's hands around her- "Owwch!" Scully cried, pulling away from Mulder. "All right, Scully. I think we better get you home." Scully was crumpling up as they walked quickly to their car. As Mulder grabbed on to Scully, he bounded off the steps. in pure ecsatcy.*I love Scully so much! How did I deserve her?* Suddenly, he realized that he was dragging Scully so much that she was practicaly dragging on the floor. "Mulder, will you please watch where you are going!" she said, as he ducked under a bar. "Sorry Scully! I am just soo happy, its like being on drugs!" "I thought you were on drugs," she deadpaned. "Open my door for me, will you?" Mulder opened the door, and shoved Scully inside. They got into the car, and he flipped on the radio. Scully was disgusted at the 80's music pouring through the radio. "I am KillllrOy! I am KilllrOy!" Mulder chanted. "Is this the kind of music that you want Leslie to hear when she is in the womb?" Scully said. "Mackenzie, you mean?" Mulder said No, Leslie." "No. Mackenzy." "No, Leslie." "Mackenzy." Scully sighed deeply. She was in too much pain for this kind of arguing. The creature inside was punting her organs. What is it? She wondered. You ready to play soccer already? The baby rolled over. Oh. Scully understood now. Shaking, she reached for her purse, and the painkillers she kept within. She popped four in her mouth, and brought up some saliva, swallowing them as best she could. Smiling softly, she closed her eyes. Mulder paid no attention to her. Her was too wrapped up in his Killroy song. When the last notes sounded, Mulder smiled with satisfaction. "Great song, Eh?" Scully was too asleep to answer. They were at Scully's house now, in the front lawn. "Hey, Scully. We're here." Mulder whispered. There was no response. "Scully!" Mulder cried. "Fine." He frowned. He got out of the car, wiping the laughter and bagel crumbs off his ragged jacket. Going around to the other side, he unhooked Scully and she promptly rolled over, and fell with a thud out of the car, onto the pavement. "Oops. Hey, Scully. Are you ok?" There was no answer. Suddenly, Mulder realized she was bleeding. His heart pounding, Mulder hoisted Scully up over his shoulder, her legs flying out into the air and her head flopping back and forth as he ran up the stairs. "All right, we're going to be fine." Mulder soothed as Scully began to squirm, trying to hit him in the head. "We're going to lie down." Mulder managed. "I've called a doctor. The baby is coming now. It's my fault." "Wha?" Scully sat up, rubbing her head. "We were driving and then-" "I know. You fell." "Is the-" "She'll be fine. You were due in a few days anyway." "Owwwwww!" Scully screeched at the top of her lungs. "Mulder, you're going to have to deliver this baby." Mulder's jaw dropped off. "No!" Scully began to scream again. " The paramedics won't get here for another hour, at least! And this babies head is out!" Looking down, Mulder realized she was right. The adorable thing was hanging out of Scully, trying desparatley to escape. "Alright, All right!" Mulder screamed back. Taking a deep breath, he lifted Scully's skirt up, and stuck his hand between her legs. "Ow!" Scully gasped, tears sreaming down her face. "Ow Ow Ow Ow!" "I got it." Mulder cried. "I got it! It's out!" There was a weak kitten cry from the thing he had pulled out of Scully, then it began to wail. Scully handed him a pair of scissors. "Cut the cord and cut it good." Nodding, Mulder wiped the goo off the face of the baby he held, examining it carefully. It had thick red hair on top of an enourmous head, and though he could not tell the eyes color yet, he was horrified to note something. " Umm..." Scully looked alarmed. "What is it. Mulder?" "It don't look like no girl..sort of looks like me, cept red hair." Scully chuckled. "Good. You know something, Mulder?" Mulder rolled over. "What?" Scully sat up, looking down at the little bundle in her arms. "I think Macenzie is a lovely name for a boy."
