Hi! *waves* This is not my first attempt at writing fanfic, but it IS the first time I'm being brave enough to allow it to be read by someone other than myself. Please, be gentle with me, I'm a virgin (poster). Let's see... I have to make sure everyone knows that everybody I refer to in this story is property of Chris Carter, 1013 Productions and Twentieth Century Fox, not necessarily in that order, and if you want to send someone money it should be them. Also, Channel 5 is a nice station in reality and any derogatory remarks are simply in the interests of the story. "No, you've gotta see this. They've got a show coming on about abductions." "Mulder, did you ever think I might have something better to do?" "Come on, it's only half an hour." Scully sighed. "Okay, but you're going to watch Nova with me later." "It's starting. Bye." Scully hung up her phone and turned the television to the local Fox network. She snorted at the "eerie" music and flying saucer pictures. "Come on, >I< could fake a better picture than THAT." She laughed as she identified a blurry picture of an "alien" as a person in a wet suit. This has GOT to be a joke. She picked up the handset to dial Mulder's number, but froze and slowly replaced it as she heard a commercial blaring. "Next time on A Current Affair: We've all heard of _Dying in Her Arms_, a saga of love and tragedy set against a backdrop of the Civil War. But the REAL Sullivan Biddle's journal tells his shocking secret!" Scully gaped at the television, wondering if she had heard right. Then she found herself dialing. "Lone Gunman." "This is Scully. I need a favor." "What kind of favor, Miss Scully?" {It had to be Frohike, didn't it, God?} "I need all the information you can get me on _Dying in Her Arms_, up to and including a tape of A Current Affair tonight." "You mean where they tell you the real life Sullivan Biddle was gay?" "What?!?" "Well, Miss Scully, I can get you the book itself, a copy of the TV movie, the tabloid show and the journal the tabloid show got their story from." "That's great, Frohike! When can I get them from you?" "I can have it all together within half an hour. But I'd like to ask a favor..." "Don't worry, Frohike, I'll bring you something good." End. Well, there should be more, but the baby needs a bath, so I have to go. If anyone wants to pick it up from there, feel free, and all comments are welcome.
