Sometimes I honestly have to wonder why I haven't gone off the deep end
yet. Why I'm not playing without a full deck. Why I don't have a few screws
loose. I mean, you would look at me, and say `Wow, that's the Assistant
Director of the FBI'(assuming you knew who I was) You would think I was a
strong, brave, faithful man. Well, I must be strong, after all I've put up
with in the past five years.
I know it's not fair, but I blame Agent Scully for this. It's not her fault
that Mulder is a paranoid, yet gifted, agent. It's not her fault that Samantha
Mulder was taken when she was 8, and set Mulder off on this so-called
*journey*. But it is her fault, however, that Mulder continues his quest. In
fact, it isn't even HIS quest anymore, it's THEIR quest. I imagine that the
*idiot*(God rest his soul) that assigned Scully to debunk his work is rolling
over in his grave right about now. I'll bet he counted on Scully being there
for two or three cases, at max, and then *poof* she'd be outta there, Mulder's
work would be shut down, and the FBI's best damn profiler would be back at
work. THAT was a major miscalculation on his part. He never counted on her
skepticism helping him, not hurting him.
Now, the two of them together are a ticking time bomb. They've come so close
to exposing what they've wanted, and then it was all snatched away from them.
They'll continue their work until, well until they've got all of the answers.
They're both too damn stubborn to be content until they know. Until they KNOW
what the government is working so diligently to cover up. Until they KNOW who
killed Melissa, and who took Sam 24 years ago.
Sometimes, I wish it would just stop. I don't have the energy anymore. I'm
thinking about retiring in a couple years, although it probably won't happen.
I'd have nothing to do, what with Sharon gone and all. God, I miss her. I
never really realized how much I loved her until she was gone. And that was
what hurt most of all.

The End...

I know, not much to it, but I felt like sending it
