Well, it's that gut feeling you get when there is no one around, and everything in the world is silent, for one brief moment. Millions of children around the world fear the dark.. Why? Perhaps it is because of the fact that everything we do, we use our eyes. In complete darkness your eyes are useless. The fight or flight syndrome kicks in and you feel the adrenalin pumping through your blood a hundred miles a minute and you don't know why. COMPLETE DARKNESS Mulder had always feared the dark all his life and told no one. I mean why else would he leave his television on all the time? Or his fish, tank that light was always on as well. Mulder's apartment 10 o'clock: He was sitting on his couch watching T.V. and the phone rang. He answers his phone, "Mulder." It's(of course) Scully. She had been laying in bed and just like Mulder, unable to sleep. As they talk the subject of the stars comes up for no reason at all. Scully talks of how the stars give off a lot of light. "Mulder, hey Mulder are you there?" "Oh sorry I was drifting off." (Mulder wasn't drifting off he was freaked, but Scully had no clue.) They talked a little more of the stars and then Mulder decided to let her go, and he did. Mulder got dressed and went for a walk around his apartment. The adrenalin was surging through him as he walked down the dark and damp streets. Just then he heard a voice but didn't pay much attention. krycek steps out and grabs Mulder by the colar. "Get your hands off me!" Mulder pushed Krycek with ease. Krycek pulled some toxin that only a sleeze like that would have, and he throws it in Mulder's eyes. Now Mulder was in the dark and blinded. Krycek disappeared into a dark alley and Mulder tried to follow but it was no use. Krycek got away. Mulder was blinded and he stumbled to his apartment, and manages to call Scully. "Scully, get over here quick." St. Gossamer Hospital 3 a.m. "We are stablizing him but we are unable to analize the toxins in his eyes." "Okay thanks." Scully left and shut the light off. "NO Scully leave the light on!" So she turned it back on and then left. 2 weeks later: Scully cried on his shoulder as Mulder sat there in his worst nightmare, siting there in total Darkness.
