Though I wouldn't mind borrowing Mulder for a little while, if you know what I mean? *wink, wink* Summary: A sequel to "The Date", a songfic about the day after. (Don't worry it's happy, none of that angsty stuff in my stories. Well not too much.) Notes: As with all of my stories this one takes place in a magical world where Mulder was never abducted, Scully never got pregnant and Dogboy is still off somewhere else "playing by the rules" and not annoying us. Plus these songs aren't mine (obviously). The song "Thank you for Loving me" is by Bon Jovi and the song "I'd Lie For You (And That's The Truth) is by Meatloaf. Did he regret it, was he just trying to pretend nothing happened? When she woke up in his bed this morning they didn't have any time to talk. Mulder had forgotten to set his alarm and she barely had enough time to race home and change before she was late for work. They didn't talk about it at work either, of course. In fact the only indication she had that Mulder even remembered what happend was the goodbye kiss he gave her at the end of the day. Nothing too pasionate though, just a quick, light peck before he quietly said goodbye and left. She never even told him she loved him and he hadn't said it either. Oh God, please don't regret this Mulder. Scully pleaded inside. When she got home she had spent her time doing housework to distract herself and keep from calling him. I will not become all clingy and needy, she told herself, I just wont. She sighed and looked at the phone for what seemed like the 100th time that day. Suddenly the phone rang and she nearly jumped off the couch. "Hello." "Dana, turn on your radio." "What? Mulder is that you?" she asked. "Yes, just turn on your radio to WZDM." he said and hung up. Scully looked at the phone confused, but got up and turned the radio on like Mulder said. The D.J came on and said "Your listening to love notes. This next song is from Fox to the love of his life Dana. Here's Bon Jovi with "Thank you for Loving me." Scully sat down to listen as the song started. Scully dialed Mulder's cell phone as soon as the song ended. "Mulder." he answered. "Your welcome. But don't you think it's a tiny bit arrogant of you to assume I'm in love with you." she asked keeping her tone light so he would realize she was teasing. "I mean just because I spend every moment when your not around thinking about you. Whether it be worrying about your safety or thinking about how it feels to have your naked body wrapped around mine." she added. There was a few seconds of silence. "Mulder?" "Sorry Scully, I was trying to think of a witty retort but that visual imageyou gave me made all the blood I usually reserve for my brain rush to an entirely different part of my body." Mulder answered. "I thought men always thought with that anyway." Scully said with a laugh. "But if I can be serious for a moment Mulder I want to thank you too." "For what?" he asked. "For the same things you thanked me for in that beautiful song, for being the most important person in my life and for what your going to do as soon as you get your ass over here." "Aren't we being a little presumptous?" Mulder teased. "You better hurry Mulder, I can get very cranky when I don't get what I want." "Oh, so that explains your personality." "Mulder?!" "I'm just kidding. By the way I have a little suprise for you." "Don't tell me I'm on Candid Camera." Mulder laughed. "No, right now I'm walking into your apartment building." "Really?" "Yup and I'm pushing the elevator button. The doors just opened and I'm inside the elevator now." "Ooh keep talking dirty to me Spooky." "Uh oh, the elevator is stuck." "What?!" Scully practically shouted. "I'm just kidding." "Mulder do you know you have a very cruel sense of humor?" "I know." Mulder said and hung up. Scully heard a knock on her door and when she answered it Mulder was standing there. "How about I make it up to you?" Mulder closed the door behind him and reached for Scully, kissing her softly. "Want to dance?" he asked. She just smiled widely in response and they started dancing to the music. Scully said in her most seductive voice. "Sorry." "I just wanted to say I like this side of you, dedicating love songs to me and dancing. I never expected you to be such a romantic." "I never really had the chance to before now. I'm sorry I didn't say anything to you all day about what happened. I just couldn't think of the right words to say everything I felt. When I got home I was driving myself crazy trying t figure out what to do when I remembered this song that makes me think of you. It said all of the things I wanted to, so perfectly. So I called the radio station and then I called you. After I hung up I got in my car and drove over here as fast as I could. I'm suprised I didn't get a ticket." Mulder added with a laugh. "You where speeding for me?" "Ya, and I ran a few red lights." "Oooh, I always knew you were a rebel", Scully said pulling Mulder closer and squeezing his butt, "But to have all that rebellious energy directed toward reaching me is such a turn on." She kissed him. "I've done alot more than break a few traffic laws to reach you Scully." Mulder murmured, speaking with his mouth still against Scully's. "Like trekking half-way across the world, freezing my ass off and nearly getting killed." "Oh ya, but what guy hasn't done that?" Scully joked and kissed him again running her hands up his back, under his shirt. "But you gotta admit, it was damn romatic." he said pulling Scully's shirt up over her head. "Well I've always thought that CPR was great foreplay." "Really? No wonder you wanted to be a doctor." "Yup, it's just a shame all my patients are dead." "You can play doctor with me anytime you want." "That sounds like fun. Alright Mr.Mulder, I want you to strip off your clothes and go to exam room number one. Otherwise known as my bedroom."
