Just as the machine was about to pick up the call he grabbed the receiver and let out a breathy hello. " .... Mulder?" "Yeah?" "Oh hey I thought I had the wrong number or something..." "Bob?" "Yeah man it's me! hey I just called to thank you." "Thank me? for what?" "I just won a huge lump of money because of you!" St. Mary Magnolynn Alexandria, Virginia 1990 Fox Mulder was nervous, and quite frankly he had a very good reason to be. "...Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today to witness this man and this woman join together in Holy matrimony. Forming an unbreakable union of the heart and soul..." As the preacher droned on about true love and God and marriage, he let his mind wander. At one point during the ceremony he slipped his hand into his left pocket and found a small round metal object and began to fiddle with it. Something he was told at work was eating away at him. A man, Edward Skur, who was the suspect in a series of bizarre murders dating back to 1952, was shot and subsequently died. But what was really bugging Fox Mulder was that right before he died, he was chanting a name over and over. The name Mulder. "... Mulder?...The ring..." Fox was broken out of his revelry and blushed slightly realizing that he let his mind wander a little too far. He smiled at the man nudging him and his beautiful bride to be. And she was beautiful, tall and big boned, but that didn't really matter. They were in love. "Oh yeah sorry Bob,..." He mumbled sheepishly and felt around in his pocket for the small round metal object It wasn't there. Mulder's heart raced, he had lost the ring! He looked back at he happy couple who were growing quite anxious. "Mulder?" His friend growled, "What's going on?" "Sorry I-I just had it..." He started to feel around in his other pockets and that's when he saw it. The ring was on his finger. "Oh it's right here... I must've slipped it on during the ceremony..." He grinned like an idiot and tried to pull the ring off his finger. It wouldn't move. Again he yanked on the ring. Somebody seated in the pews started to laugh. The Groom grabbed Mulder's hand and tried to dislodge the ring but had no luck. Nothing seemed to work. The bride shook her head and started to cry. The whole thing ended up in a fiasco and it was all caught on tape. Eventually the bride and groom decided to finished their vows sans one simple wedding band and try to retrieve the ring after the swelling goes down on Mulder's poor sore finger. The rest of the ceremony went without a hitch, the swelling had stopped but hadn't subsided by the time that newlywed couple had to leave for their flight to Hawaii. "Look Bob, I feel really bad for causing such a mess on your wedding day and all, I'd hate to be the blame for your honeymoon being ruined too!" Mulder repositioned the ice pack on his left hand. "Why don't you and Sheila just go to Hawaii, and I'll drop the ring off when you guys get back?" "Well..." "Those tickets are non-refundable, if you miss your flight you'd be screwed. Sheila won't be too happy about it but I think she'll manage, and besides it's Hawaii!" "Yeah, ok..." "You'll thank me for it later I swear! Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday,... Now go! Your Limo is waiting!" Fox Mulder waved goodbye as his friend and new bride drove off. He shook his head and smiled, he was glad he was a bachelor. Now only if this damn ring would come off. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxxoxoxoxo Ivy .... I don't wanna wrestle.... Fox Mulder/Detour ....Why the Hell not?.... Dana Scully / Small Potatos ....Scully?
