DESCRIBING SCULLY
Written by: Erin M. Blair

I heard a door open to the bar on a hot summer's day, and I
looked up to see my partner walking in. She gave me a smile as
she sat down next to me at the bar. "Hi Mulder," she said.

"Hi," I said, as I gazed into her beautiful eyes.

Her eyes were of a sparking blue, the same color of the
Pacific Ocean. I can picture the nice cool breeze as the waves
keep rolling in and out.

Then I looked at her shoulder-length auburn hair. It was
the same color as a jewel.

What kind of a jewel?

Ruby.

Not an old, discarded ruby, but a new one which
sparkled against the sunlight. That's the way her hair looks
to me.

A bright ruby.

"What are you looking at, Mulder?" Scully inquired.

I know she was wondering why I was observing her, but I
couldn't help it. I know she's my partner, but I couldn't help
to look at her.

She's beautiful!

I looked at her complexion, and remarked how creamy
white it was. It wasn't a peaches-and-cream color, but she
looks like Ivory Soap.

She even smelled like ivory soap today. Sometimes, she
smelled like strawberries to me.

I think she wanted to change how she smelled to me.

I guess.

I know she was waiting for me to answer her, and I gave
her a small smile. "I just couldn't believe I'd never paid
attention to your beauty before."

She gave me a questioning glance. "Really?"

I nodded. "You're beautiful."

"I'd never known. Nobody ever told me if I was pretty or
not." She gave me a shy smile. "Thank you."

"Do you want me to describe you?"

"Go ahead."

"Scully, your eyes the color of the Pacific Ocean... Your
hair's the color of a sparkling jewel..."

"What kind of sparkling jewel?"

"A ruby."

"A bright ruby?"

I nodded. "Yes."

"Go on," Scully said with a smile. "I'm beginning to love
this."

"Your skin tone's the same color of a bar of ivory soap."

"Is there more?" Scully said as her eyes twinkled with
happiness.

"That's all I could think of at the moment."

"Oh," she said knowingly. "Let me know if you come up
with anything more. I loved your descriptions of me."

"Thanks." I decided to change the subject. "Do we still
have to work on the paperwork from the Jennifer Reynold's abduction
case?"

She nodded. "Skinner needs it by tomorrow. He's giving
us a day off to relax. We've been through so much recently."

"That's good," I said with a sigh of relief. "Dana Scully, I'm
so glad you're my partner."

"And I'm so glad you're my partner, Fox Mulder."

End of Story

Author's Note: This was written originally for my Creative
Writing course I'm taking this year, and I had used the names
of Danielle Lesky and David McConnell. Since Danielle was supposed
to look like Scully, it was easier for me to change the names. =)
So far, I'm learning a lot about description than I ever had before.
It's great!

This story doesn't have much of a plot at all. It's just a
romantic, friendly character piece.
