Authors Notes: This isn't my first fanfic, just the first one I've
posted.  After all the crap flying around lately, I wasn't going to
post, but then I decided What the Hell.
Do You Dream in Color?

	I heard a saying that I really like once, He who cannot see 

still sees in his dreams.  I wonder if Mulder saw color in his dreams. 
 
If he ever dreampt of little green men.  Did he see the difference 

between them and my hair?  Had he ever imagined a fiery sunset all gold 
and red, the most beautiful thing in the world?  Had he ever known the 
electic green of new grass, straight from the seed?  Ever seen the red 
face of a newborn baby.  He never would have imagined this day.  It 
seems as though the entire earth and all the stars have turned black.  
Black.  Mulders color.  How many times did we end up in the dark, 
relying on each other, trusting each other to the nth degree, knowing 
that if we stuck together we could get out.  It seemed like every time 
we saw the light, reached it, felt it seeping into our skin, a cloud 
would come back over us.  Samantha.  His dad.  Melissa.  Emily.


	But he  never completely let me in.  His hell was even darker 
than mine.  Blacker than black.  He let me  in by pieces, a tiny 

sliver of light at a time.  The light seldom reached him, though, 

because whenever another crack appeared he retreat further and further. 

 I got so close, by the end, I could almost reach out and touch him.  

And this time I was the one who retreated.  Oh, god, that was what 

killed him. _I_ killed him.  I pushed him away.  OH GOD Mulder, why did 

you have to run?  Don't you know I would have followed you to the ends 

of the earth?  And I'll follow you off the ends of the earth.  I have 

to.
