Dreaming of You

Apt. #42

	Fox Mulder awoke with a start, the dream still fresh in his mind. He
looked around his living room as if noticing it for the first time. "It
was just a dream!" he yelled out loud, suddenly. Then, to himself,
thought, 'Scully's not getting married. It was just a dream, well, a
nightmare. Scully's not getting married and she's not gonna leave you.'
	Mulder was happy for the rest of the morning; he was even able to pick
out a not-that-bad-but-it's-still-scary tie. In a way, he was upset that
it was just a dream because in it Scully loved him and he knew it. But
he was glad i was just a dream because he knew that she wasn't getting
married. The rest of the morning he debated whether or not to tell her
how he felt, just in case the situation ever came up in real life. If he
did, then he would have a chance of her leaving if she didn't feel the
same way, or being able to stay with her forever if she did. He decided
not to tel her, just to be on the same side. He glanced at the clock,
noticed he was late, and hurried out of the door.

	Dana Scully sat in front of her computer in her and Mulder's basement
office of the F.B.I. Headquarters. 'Thank God Mulder's late,'she
thought. 'I still aven't thought of a way to tell him.' She thought
about her date with Sean Conner last night. 'Mulder doesn't even know
we're going out,' she thought, and suddenly felt a spark in her heart at
the mention of Mulder's name. Before she was able to think anymore,
Mulder walked into the room.
"Good morning, Scully. How are you doing?"
"Fine, Mulder, thank you. You seem very cheerful this morning."
He just grinned at her. 'I can't take it any longer,' she thought. 
"Mulder," she said suddenly, surprising him. 
"Yeah, Scully?"
"Um, do you happen to remember Sean Conner?" At the mention of the name,
Mulder's heart skipped a beat. 
"Yeah," he answered. 
"Well," Scully began, "we're getting married"
