Archive: Sure, but keep my name & let me know. Constructive feedback greatly appreciated. Disclaimer: All things X-files belong to Chris Carter, 1013, and Fox. This is not for profit, but for love. Author's notes: This short piece comes from my insistence that Scully should never get involved with Mulder. I think he is genetically predisposed to the same deceptive and destructive nature of his father. I'm sure Bill Mulder thought he was just doing it all for love or his family.... At this point, I would be very uncomfortable seeing Scully get involved with Mulder romantically. Dana Scully snuggled comfortably in bed. It was a crisp, cold morning AND it was Saturday! No more Mulder, no more spooks, no more X-Files or dirty looks Dana reveled secretly of not going into the office. Suddenly she heard a 'plink' against her bedroom window. Then another one. "Scully! Hey, Scully!" She heard coming from below. She wrapped in her blanket and went to the window. Down below she saw Fox Mulder standing in the new layer of snow. He was tossing pebbles at her window. When he saw her, he smiled brilliantly and waved for her to come down. Curious more than cold, Dana dressed quickly and went downstairs. "Mulder! What are you doing here?" She said as she came out of her apartment building. "And why are you throwing rocks at my window?" "C'mon, Scully! No boy ever threw pebbles at your window and asked you to sneak out with him?" Scully tried to hide her grin at the memories that surfaced. "That's what I thought!" he grinned. "But what are you doing here, Mulder?" Mulder looked at her thoughtfully and almost sadly. "Don't you know, Scully?" A feeling of vulnerability caught Scully unaware. She felt small and very feminine when he stood as close as he was. She didn't dare move away from him, fearing that it would be a signal of her insecurity with his closeness. But she wanted to ask him. She needed to ask him. "What? What do I know, Mulder?" He grinned at her again. He beamed. "I love you, Scully. I love you and you love me back." Scully held her breath. She was afraid to say anything and bit her bottom lip. "Don't do that, Scully." Mulder moved closer. He used his thumbs to free her glistening lips. Then he bent and moved his lips next to hers. When he spoke again she could feel his breath tickle her nose. "Your lips are so beautiful, so luscious. They should only be..." His next word she felt over her mouth in a whisper. ".. kissed." She closed her eyes as his kiss warmed her all over. She tasted him. He was salty like the seeds he ate but he also had a sweetness. She put her tongue into his mouth. 'Yes, a definite sweetness!' She thought. His kiss became more insistent, rougher. Their tongues began to duel. He moved over her face licking, tasting... "I want you, Dana Scully". He whispered in an almost unrecognizable voice. Scully nodded against him, giving him her trust and permission. She backed away to soak in the sight of his desire. But when she opened her eyes, she gasped. "What's wrong, Scully?" Scully moved back even further and made an attempt to run. But the man in front of her grabbed her arm. This wasn't Mulder, it was CGB Spender! Mulder called him 'Cancer Man' and he held her now tightly as Mulder had only seconds before. "What's wrong, Agent Scully? You can tell me." "Let me go. Please let me go." "I can't do that. You're very important to us. But I like you, Dana. That's why I cured you. For him. For Agent Mulder." "Shut up! You tried to kill me! You gave me this disease!" She cried angrily. "You shouldn't have removed the chip. I was the only who wanted you alive. Long after you refused your original assignment, I kept you alive!" "You wanted me to ruin Mulder at the FBI. Since then you've tried to have me killed a number of times. And I've got a dead sister to prove it!" "You became a threat to our group. But I didn't try to kill you. I changed you." "During my abduction?!" She almost whispered. She was afraid of his answers. She didn't want to hear the words. He was the one who had stolen her away. He had ordered unimaginable things done to her. The older man seemed to hear her thoughts. "I protected you. Now you must help us." He pleaded, almost cajoled. Unable to resist, she turned to face him. He seemed vulnerable not as menacing as before. Why? But she reminded herself that he was evil. And the thought of him thinking that she could purge the memories of her sister and daughter to help him do those things to others made the bile rise in her throat. Then she heard something being dropped into the snow. Looking down she saw the bloody body parts splattering the white. She knew the parts. There were bits of brain and ovum. She wanted him dead! She drew back to attack the old man but stopped short when she looked up. It wasn't Spender's face! It was Mulder. And there were tears in his eyes! "Scully, I'm so sorry!" He wept. They both looked down. He had the same bloody hands. That was when she woke up. Sequel?
