Rating: PG-13 Spoilers: None Disclaimer: Dana Scully and Fox Mulder do not belong to Chris Carter, 1013 and Fox Productions 'All clear, everyone out,' a tall young man yelled, about five agents made there way quickly to the exit of the building. Mulder and Scully followed them all but less energetically, they had plenty of time, the bomb would go off in five minutes exactly and so why run. 'Scully, why are we getting assigned to cases like this, its just terrorists. Why won't they just let us back on the X files.' 'You and I both know why they won't let us work on the X files, Mulder.' They slowly made there way towards the exit. He wondered if he could just quit the FBI and 'find the truth' through other methods, no reports, no having to explain to angry superiors, but then there would be no Scully and so he forgot about that idea. Suddenly, there was a huge crash and the ceiling fell down right in front of them blocking the exit. 'Shit, Scully you got your phone?' 'No,' she recognized that panicked look on Mulder's face. 'Scully, how long have we got?' 'Two and a half minutes.' How could this of happened, this couldn't be happening, they both knew very well that this was their only exit. 'I'm sorry Scully, I think this is it. They can't dig us out in just over two minutes.' 'I know.' They were both silent for a few seconds neither knowing what to say, but both knowing that time was running out rapidly. 'I love you Mulder.' Scully blurted out. 'I've always loved you, we've been through so much together and we both knew it. If only.....' She trailed off. 'If only we had more time.' 'I know. I'm sorry, I love you too. You know in a way its funny that after all we've been through, hunted by serial killers, maniacs, your cancer, but that we die together just an accident no ones fault.' 'Trust you to see a funny side. Thirty seconds.' She threw him a pained smile. Thirty seconds left to live. The Ice Queen was about to do something that she had imagined herself doing for years, but never imagined that she ever would, she leaned towards him and kissed him. Why had she never done this before? She moved back and ended the kiss. She looked at her watch, 20 seconds, and then looked at Mulder he was silent, possibly for the first time ever he looked amazed. 'Ten seconds, Mulder.' 'I love you Scully.' 'I love you Mulder.' And once again they kissed tears running down both their cheeks. One long kiss. That would go on for eternity. The Bomb Exploded!
