This is only my second story I've ever placed on the internet so don't flame me too much. I had known Scully had hosted the show "Future Fantastic" awhile back to make some money, but I never knew about the promotion idea. It was a complete surprise to me when Matt brought over the CD. Matt had been a collegue of mine years back and we usually got to visit each other at least once a year, but this visit I would never forget. Matt had told me about a CD he had seen and picked up on an impulse because he had heard it was really good, and being just a single, he bought it. He had told me when he was over that it was fantastic so he had bought me a copy and brought me a copy and brought it with him. After he left to go back to San Diego, I finally got around to listening to it and was surprised at what I found. I started the CD up and I recognised the beat but couldn't quite place it. Then as the woman spoke I immediately knew Matt was right, the voice sounded very sexy. As I comtinued to listen the voice started to sound familiar but an octave lower. I thought I had to be nuts so I looked at the credits on the CD: HAL Extremis Featuring Dana Scully I gasped and realized why the music sounded so familiar. It was the theme song to "Future Fantastic." It was then that I noticed the cover and I couldn't believe I hadn't before, it was definitely Dana. My heart started to race, I never knew she was actually capable of that voice, I had only heard it in my dreams. I slapped the unpartnerlike thoughts to the back of my mind as usual, but then I thought, why not enjoy the CD? So I lay back and listened to Dana's voice over and over again, imagining she was actually talking to me. At the time I wondered why her voice was affecting me the way it was, and the back of my mind screamed "Because you love her!" I guess in all honesty I had known for a long time I was in love with Scully, but never admitted it. We had been working together for four years and I felt closer to her than anyone. She was my best friend, and my partner, and I trusted her with my life and would have done anything for her. But did she think of me as more than a friend? As I pondered this, the phone rang. "Mulder." "Hi. It's me." "Hey Scully. What's up?" "I just wondered if you finished the reports." "Yeah, about an hour ago." Scully noticed a song in the background and thought she recognized it but didn't know from where. "Mulder, I hear moans in the background, you watching one of your videos?" she said with a laugh. "No, actually, my friend I told you about, Matt, gave me this CD, that has this woman with a really sexy voice on it, and I'm really enjoying it." At that Dana's heart sank a little. He wasn't even really listening to her, he was more interested in the CD. "What's it called? Though I don't think I really want to know judging by the sound of it, it sounds just like some woman moaning and singing quietly. It seems to be having some effect on you." "Yes it is, her voice is really turning me on, I recognized the singer and never knew she had such a sexy, seductive voice. I think you might actually like it, you'd be surprised I know I was." She listened to him ramble on. "Fine, what's it called?" "Extremis." "..." Dana's mind registered and he could imagine how red her face was. "Scully? Are you still there?" "Ah yeah, Mulder." He began to pump the music louder. "Dana..." "Say something to me in that voice." he said seductively. "What voice? I don't know what you..." she started to lie. "Really?" "'Cause see I was reading who sang it and..." "Where did you get that?!" "I told you, Matt gave it to me. What are you so embarrassed about? It really turns me on..." Her mind screamed out reasons. "Please?..." she thought. "What do you want me to say?" she purred spontaneously. "How about the very last part of the song..." "I'm not sure I remember..." she continued to purr. "Here, I'll help you...'I don't want to hear about the future...'" "What, do you have it memorized?" "Photographic memory, remember?" "Oh...Fine...'I want to see it'...'I want to feel it'...'I wanna taste it'..." Mulder reached his hand down distinctively. He was never this turned on. "Wow..." "Mulder, what are you doing?"..."Mulder?" "Ah I'm here." "What are you doing?" "Sorry, just thinking..." "About?" "About, us." "..." "Scully?" "Yeah, I'm here." "Have you ever thought about it, I mean about us, being together?" "Mulder, we're together all the time, sometimes a little too much." she said with a nervous laugh. "You know what I mean." "Have you?" "I asked you first..." "Yes Mulder, I have, so?" "Well, I have too, alot, everytime I see you..." "Mulder..." "How do you feel about me, Dana?" "..." "I need to know." "I, I don't know...I, well..." "Scully, surely you must know how I feel, and I need to know if you feel the same way." "How do you feel Mulder?" "Scully, you're my friend, and I don't want to change that, or lose anything we have, but don't you think maybe it's time to take our friendship to a new level?" "..." "We need to talk about this...I'm coming over." "Mulder..."..."Mulder?" He had hung up. ********** Scully rushed around her apartment, not knowing what to do. She was dazed out of her thoughts when she heard a knock at her door. Instinctively, she looked out the peep hole before opening it. "Scully, we need to talk." "Yes, come in." She motioned for him to sit down on the couch, as she did the same. "Mulder, this is hard for me to say, but yes, I do have feelings for you." "That's all I wanted to hear." Mulder leaned over, cupping her cheek with his hand, and leaned in and kissed her. Surpisingly she returned the kiss with just as much lust. "Mulder," she said as she pulled away, "I..." "Scully, if you want to wait..." "No, it's not that, it's just, you do realize, we can't tell anyone." "Yes, I know, but everything will be fine, we will be partners, for as long as I can help it. I won't let them try to separate us." "I love you Mulder." "I love you too." Mulder pulled her in for another kiss which this time lasted much longer... ********** The next day after work... Scully was at her house, enjoying a party with her family, until the phone rang, and her brother told her it was for her. "Hello?" "Hey, Scully, it's me. Sorry to interupt your dinner." "No, ah, is something a matter?" "Well, I need your help on something. Somebody named Arlinski just contacted me over at the Smithsonian. "Contacted you about what?" "About something he found on a mountain in Canada..."
