LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THOUGHT, BUT CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENTS ONLY, PLEASE. AND ON WITH THE SHOW... Roswell, New Mexico 11:00pm Mulder pulled Scully close, wrapping his body around hers. He needed her so much right now. He needed to smell her, hear her voice and feel her heart beat. He had nearly forgotten everything in his life while in New Mexico, except Scully and William. And he didn't forget a single thing about Scully. Right down to the smell of her hair, the shade of blue her eyes were, the softness of her skin. He remembered it all, and was so glad to be back to see and feel all of it. He only wished William was there too. Mulder would get him back. Somehow, he would find a way to make them a family. He opened his eyes. Scully was already sleeping heavily, her face showing no emotion other than total relaxation. He kissed her softly on the lips. "I love you," he said, whispering it into her ear. Then he closed his eyes again. ------------------------------ 6:17am The sun cracked through the blinds early, waking Scully as it rose past the window. She opened her eyes and squinted at the alarm clock. It was still early, early enough to let Mulder sleep a bit longer. But they would have to get out of there soon. The quicker the better. She didn't want to take any chances, and she knew it wouldn't be long until someone would think to search in New Mexico. They would get on a plane. Any one would do as long as it was leaving the country. She watched his face as he slept, thanked God it was there again. She didn't know if she was ever going to see him alive again before last night. Maybe all of this was happening for a reason. Maybe this was their way out of the game they had been playing for so long. The end they were looking for. And now they would have a new beginning. "Mulder." Scully tried to wake him. She put her hand on his cheek. "Come on, we have to get moving soon." She spoke softly, easing him from slumber. "Hi." He opened his eyes and smiled at her. "Hi yourself," Scully replied. She laid across his chest, resting her head in the curve between his neck and shoulder. She placed a light kiss there, feeling vibrations from a low hum in his throat. She felt his hands running down her back, over her bottom and down her thighs. Then back up her sides until they stopped and rested on her hips. His touch felt wonderful. She had missed it for so very long and it made her want him now more than ever. But now was not going to work, and she didn't want their first time to be rushed. She wanted to be able to savor it, catalogue every detail in her brain. "We should get going." Scully was a bit anxious, and scared. Everything was up in the air right now. "Yeah." He supposed she was right. There was little time to waste, and every minute counted. They were showered, dressed and packed up by 8:30. Ready to leave one life and start another. ------------------------------ An Airport in New Mexico 9:15am Mulder and Scully stood together, looking at the posted flight schedules. "Soo...where exactly do we go?" Scully asked Mulder, hoping he had an answer. A pre-set destination like it was a vacation, not an escape. But that was all a wish. It was not planned, it was not a vacation, and they were surely escaping the enemy. Mulder was no less unsure than she. "I'm not really sure." He pondered the possibilities for a moment, then spoke. "What do you think of Amsterdam for a little while? We don't have to stay there long. Being a moving target certainly doesn't hurt our chances. We could move every few weeks until the heat dies down, then settle wherever we liked it the most." He had a good point. "That could be nice. Let's do it." They made their way over to the ticket counter. Scully proceeded to deal with the woman behind it. "Two tickets for the 10:30am flight to London." "And your names please?" The woman inquired. "Alex and Sarah Peters. Could you also book us a connecting flight to Amsterdam from London, please?" "Yes ma'am." Scully brought out some cash from her purse to pay. Cash meant no questions. ------------------------------ Flight 402 to London 12:22pm Scully hated flying, most of the time at least. But today wasn't that bad. It wasn't crowded and for the most part, pretty quiet. She flipped through a magazine while Mulder studied some maps. There wasn't much else to do besides sleep and that didn't sound too bad at all. She sat the magazine in her lap and closed her eyes. Mulder stared intently at the map, tracing routes with his finger. He turned to Scully to ask her for a pen, but she was sleeping. he reached for her purse, sure she would have one in there. When he opened it, he saw a very large amount of money staring back at him. 'Where the hell did she get all of this?!' He would find out as soon as she got up. He wouldn't wake her. She was drained and he knew it, no matter how many times she said she was 'fine'. He also knew this was his fault. The guilt he felt for not being there when they needed him consumed his mind. 'If only I had been there, been a man and protected my family. God... how could I do this to her?' Well, one thing was for damn sure, he was never going to let her down again. 'And I'll find William somehow. We will be a family, no matter what I have to do.... I wonder if he looks like me at all now. Maybe I'll ask Scully sometime.' "Ask me what, Mulder?" Damn! He said that out loud? "Uhh, where all that money came from, and how you managed to get it on this plane." Now was not the time for the other question. It could wait. Ahh, the money. She knew she would have to explain sooner or later. "Well, I cleaned out whatever I had and Skinner helped me get to some of your money." "Well that still doesn't add up to anywhere near the amount of money in that bag, Scully." "Despite my protests, Reyes and Doggett insisted that I take some money from them. Then I went to see my mother before I left. I felt so bad not being able to explain anything to her. But she apparently understood the nature of the situation and handed me all this money she saved in a box from the attic for emergencies. At least I got to tell her I loved her. I told her not to worry, that I would be okay." Tears began rolling down her cheeks. It broke Mulder's heart. "Scully, look at me. I promise you, you will see your mother again. I don't know when, but you will... So you still didn't tell me how you managed to get all that money on the plane, and 'all that' being how much exactly?" He was curious. "In a few short words, a young male employee, a little leg and a $500 bribe. So total now... there is about $34,000 there." Mulder raised an eyebrow. "Don't ask anymore questions about it." ------------------------------ Amsterdam Airport 11:00pm The flights had been long and tiring. Takeoff was delayed in London due to a severe thunderstorm and that flight proved to be less pleasant than the first. Mulder and Scully were both exhausted and hungry "I'll be right back Mulder." Scully walked across the terminal and asked a taxi driver for the location of a quiet hotel with room service. "Down the road about three miles is The Loft." "Thank you very much, sir." "You are quite welcome, frauline. Would you like me to take you there?" the old man asked. "Yes please. I just need to get my things." She walked back over to Mulder. "Come on, I found us a place to stay and I have a taxi waiting." ------------------------------ The Loft Hotel 11:25pm They thanked the driver and walked into the lobby. After a slightly difficult conversation with the receptionist, Mulder obtained a room key. Bags in hand, they got on an elevator and pushed the third floor button. "This is it," Mulder said. He took out the card, placed it in the slot and pulled up. The red light flashed. After three more unsuccessful attempts, Mulder handed the card to Scully in frustration. She proceeded to open the door without a problem. She looked over at Mulder and smiled. "It's all in the wrist," she stated. Mulder stuck his tongue out and followed behind her into the room. "Hey, this place is pretty nice. No connecting doors either!" He made a sad attempt at humor. Scully smiled anyway, appreciating his efforts to lighten her mood. "Food?" Mulder called to Scully as she walked into the bathroom. "Yeah. I'm going to take a quick shower while you're doing that." "What do you want?" "I don't care, you pick." He dialed room service and ordered a pizza, then laid back on the bed. A few minutes later he got up to use the bathroom. "Hey Scully," he have a few quick knocks and went in. "I just have to use the toi... whoa, sorry!" He walked in as she was stepping out of the shower. He turned around quickly, somewhat embarrassed. "I thought you were still in the tub." She wrapped a towel around herself, laughing. "It's okay, Mulder. You can turn around now." She walked out, shutting the door behind her. Mulder was left standing there, half shocked and half turned on by her nonchalant response. Now he was going to need a shower. Scully heard the water being turned on, and decided to change there instead of waiting for Mulder to come out of the bathroom. She applied her lotion and brushed her hair as usual, then put on her nightgown. That, however, was slightly less routine. She had opted for a full-length creme colored nightie over sweatpants and a T-shirt. It made her feel beautiful for the first time in almost two years. Sexually desirable was more like it, she hoped. A knock came at the door. She threw on a robe and answered it. It was room service. She tipped the bell boy and rolled the cart next to the bed. As she was bringing it in, Mulder emerged from the bathroom; shirtless and clad in navy blue sleep pants. His still damp hair was tousled and messy. 'A very good look indeed,' Scully thought to herself. She lifted the lid on the tray. "Pizza, Mulder?" She wasn't all that surprised. "It's a sure thing, Scully. You can't go wrong with pizza." Scully didn't really care much anyway. Just trying to keep her attention on the food was proving to be a problem. All she could think about was him. She had been so lonely without him, and she was tired and sad. She needed to feel him, his love and his sadness too. To know that she wasn't alone. Mulder finished his crust and reached for another slice. He looked over at Scully. She hadn't even touched her pizza yet. "Scully, you okay?" Her eyes looked distant. "What are you thinking about?" She sat there, not sure of what to say or do, so she bit into a slice of pizza and chewed slowly. "Come on, Scully. Talk to me... please." Mulder pleaded. He wanted to comfort her, but couldn't unless she let him. "I was thinking about William. And you." Honesty couldn't hurt the situation. "I used to do the same thing with William every night while you were gone. I would sit in the rocking chair with him, before I put him to sleep, and I would pray for you to come back alive. So that William would get the chance to learn where some of the best things about him came from. I would pray out loud, so he could hear. Show him your picture." Mulder wanted to cry. "Scully, did he... did he look like me at all. He was so tiny when I left it was hard to tell." Scully got up, pushing the forgotten pizza away from the bed. She walked over to her bag and pulled out a white envelope. She sat back down and handed it to Mulder. He opened it. They were pictures of Scully with William, some with them sleeping, or playing, some with her feeding him. He liked one in particular, of the two of them sleeping in Scully's bed. The baby's tiny frame rested on Scully's chest, with her hands on either side of his back. He only had a diaper on, and he looked so sweet with his little bare arms and legs spread out over her. He smiled as tears ran down his cheeks. "See," Scully said, pointing. "he has your pouty little mouth, and your eyes, but my color." Mulder continued to stare at the pictures for a few more moments. She looked so beautiful with him. "Scully, when it's safe enough, we'll find him and get him back. And I will give you the normal life you deserve." Scully cried. For herself, for William and Mulder, for the truth they knew not how to change. He cupped her face and put his lips on her cheeks, kissing away the tears. Then he continued on to her mouth. Scully closed her eyes as she felt his tongue enter her own mouth. They were long deep kisses. Ones that left her breathless and dizzy. She had never experienced a kiss like that before Mulder. Just one kiss from him and she was completely undone. She slowly loosened the tie to her robe, letting it fall off her shoulders and on to the ground behind her. Mulder opened his eyes and looked at her. "You are so beautiful, Scully." *Kiss* "Perfect." *Kiss* He laid her back on the bed, and then stopped. He was silently asking her permission, giving her a chance to stop if she didn't want to go any further. Scully answered him by shedding the silky garment covering her body. Then she took his hand and placed it over her heart. Mulder was floored. There she was before him, naked and vulnerable, yet unafraid. She had nothing but love and trust for him, no doubts or fears. He gently ran his hands up and down her body, taking his time to memorize all her lines and curves. Inch by inch, he began kissing his way down from her mouth. He lavished attention to every part of her. He placed kisses on each shoulder, the hollow of her throat. Then he took on pink nipple into his mouth and sucked lightly. Scully gasped, lifting her body off the bed, pushing against his mouth. Mulder let go and latched on to the other nipple, giving it the same treatment. He stopped again at her stomach, placing light kisses all over it. "Miracles do happen, Scully." Mulder said as he placed a kiss right below her belly button. She couldn't wait any longer. "Mulder, please." She didn't need to say it twice. He removed his pants and positioned himself over her. "I love you," he said as he pushed himself inside her. "Ohh, love you too... so much." She gripped the sheets and shut her eyes as he moved in and out her slowly. The sensations were almost too much for her to handle. Almost. Her breath came in short pants as she met his strokes, which were becoming faster. She could feel him getting close. Suddenly, she felt him grasp and tilt her hips upward. "Oh, ohhh! There! Oh God!" She wrapped her legs around him as he pushed into her faster. Four more strokes and her inner walls were convulsing around him intensely. The strength of her own orgasm bringing Mulder right behind her. They stayed joined for a while afterwards, neither wanting to let go of the other. It was becoming slightly uncomfortable for Scully though, with Mulder lying on top. He pulled out of her and turned them on their sides. "Was it..." Mulder was curious to see if it was as good for her as it was for him. Quite frankly, it was the best experience he ever had, and he knew it was because it was with Scully "I couldn't even put it into words." She replied before he even finished. She kissed him goodnight and shut her eyes. Mulder fell asleep shortly after her. ------------------------------ 9:17am Mulder opened his eyes and smiled as the memory of last night flooded his brain. He wanted to make love to her every night for the rest of his life, and he could. Something had to be done though before they could start their lives together like that. Or at least he wanted to do it. He was prepared for it, he had been for a little while. Scully stretched out her arms and legs and opened her eyes. "Morning." She had a big grin plastered to her face. She snuggled next to him. "Hey. Sleep well?" "Very, and you?" "Likewise." He felt like a new man. "Hey Scully," "Yeah Mulder?" "Can I ask you something?"
