They went out to dinner, where Mulder proposed marriage and Scully accepted. Then, they went to a hotel, and^. Anyway, the next morning, they were off to their separate ways: Scully to the office and Mulder to chase off a murder convict that knows the whereabouts of some psycho fugitive. While on duty, Mulder turns a corner and gets shot. He's taken to the hospital, but he's in a coma. When Scully's in Skinner's office, the phone rings saying that Mulder in the hospital. They run off and when they get to the hospital. Scully sees the doctor that attending Mulder and he explains he his condition. She turns in to see him and she speaks to him, and he sheds a tear. It indicates she can hear him. A month goes by^ Scully's Apartment, 11:36 p.m.: She turned the steering wheel as she parked her red Buick outside her apartment building. She stepped out with her navy blue coat in hand. Scully took the elevator and stepped out when it chimed. She jammed the key into her lock and quietly stepped in, locking the door after her. She did the usual: took a shower and drank some hot chocolate. She stepped into bed, unhappy like she'd been for the past month because Mulder wouldn't be there to cuddle her the way he did. She laid her soft auburn hair on the pillow, relaxed, and closed her delicate cerulean eyes. It was 2:17 a.m. and someone thrust the door for a few minutes until they managed to open it. They slowly opened the front door. Scully was sound asleep in her bed, probably dreaming of Mulder. The man walked slowly in the dark. The shadows that the light from outside made out that this man was tall, muscular, and with a crop-cut haircut. He tiptoed a path to Scully's bedroom. He slightly opened the bedroom door, cropping over some more. He slowly took something out of his pocket, like a vaccine bottle and a needle, and carefully placed it on the bedroom table. He swung off his jacket and placed it on Scully's chair. He slowly walked over to Scully's bed with the vaccine and needle in hand. He managed to pull the vaccine from the bottle and into the needle. The man slowly pulled the covers off of Scully's arm. He injected the liquid into her body, and to his luck, she did not awake. The man undressed himself, and then began to unbutton Scully's sleeping gown^ Scully's Apartment, the next morning, 8:43 a.m.: The sun shone through the window and onto Scully's eyelids. She moved around and stretched in bed. She felt woozy, like after a night with Mulder, but she thought maybe it's because she missed him and his kisses so much. She walked out of bed, went to the bathroom, rinsed her face, and she put on a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt. She had some coffee and walked out the door. When she got to the hospital, she went up to the ICU wing. "Hi Mary." She said to the nurse. "Hi Dana." "Anything?" "Not yet." "Thanks." She walked deeper into the ICU wing until she reached Mulder's hospital room. She walked in and came closer to the bed, placing her hands on the railing. "Hi, Mulder. I'm here." Said Scully to a still and motionless Mulder. Last night they took off his respirator and he seemed to be fine without it. "Hello, Mrs. Scully." Interrupted Dr. Pillory form behind. "Hi." Replied Scully with a small almost unbearable smile. "Well, Mr. Mulder looks like he's doing fine without the respirator, huh!" commented Dr.Pilory, coming closer to the hospital bed. "Yeah," replied Scully, softly. "Let's just hope he wakes up now." Finished Scully as she delicately brushed his brown hair. She sighed and removed her hand from her fianc and automatically walked around Dr. Pillory and sat on the sofa, she'd had spent so many hours on. Georgetown Local Hospital, 1:46 p.m.: Another week went by and Scully was there everyday, caring for Mulder, talking to him if he could or could not hear her, and, loving him as much as she did the first time she saw him. "S-Scully? S-Scully are you there?" Scully had fallen asleep about an hour ago. She heard the voice and awoke from the unconsciousness of sleeping. She softly opened her eyes and, when she rose, Mulder was sitting up in the bed. "Jesus, Mulder! Your awake!" Scully screamed as she ran to his side. She touched his hands, chest, back, and arms. "Oh my god!" She started to cry. "What! No welcome back kiss?" he asked sarcastically. "MMM, Yes!" She grabbed his face and kissed his lips as he pressed her closer. "MMM, thank you." "MMM, you're welcome." Said Scully, wiping the lipstick off of Mulder's lips. "What are you doing here, Scully?" " Well, I've been taking care of you." "Oh, figures." Said Mulder as he rolled his eyes. Scully gave him "the face". "Oh, here we go again with the face." Joked Mulder. They both chuckled and Scully's eyes watered. "Oh God, I love you, Mulder." Whispered Scully under he tears of joy. Scully brushed her acrylics through his hair. "Me too. I missed you so much." Said Mulder. "But this stupid wound still stings. Ahh!" complained Mulder. "Ooh, let me look at that^ssss, that's bad." Said Scully as she repatched the bullet hole. "You know what the best thing about being sick and having you around?" taunted Mulder as he grabbed Scully by the hips. "No, what?" "That you're my personal doctor." "And, If you take advantage of that privilege, I'll become you're personal abuser^" joked Scully. They laughed again, this time following it with a kiss. They heard the doorknob turn, but they ignored the sound. "Mrs. Sc^" said Mary, the nurse. She paused when she saw the scenery. When they finally realized that someone was at the door, they stopped and looked up, both turning their heads at the same time. "Mr. Mulder! You're awake! Oh my god!" screamed Mary. "Oh, Mr. Mulder, thank goodness! I was already more worried about Mrs. Scully not sleeping!" She continued. Mulder looked at Scully. "Yeah, she an angel. She's my angel." He said sweetly. "Well, Mr. Mulder, I'm gonna go make you're report now^oh, sorry about walking in like that!" giggled Mary. She turned around and walked back outside. They returned to staring at each other, and Scully sliding her nails through the hair at his temples. He embraced her with his arms around her waist. Scully slowly leaned in and kissed Mulder on the forehead. "God, thank you for returning him to me." She whispered. "Mulder, I felt that^if you ever, just^died^I mean, you would take every last part of my soul with you." She said, this time looking him straight in the eye. "You too are my everything, Scully. You're the reason why I wake up in the morning. You've been my reason for six years. I didn't plan on letting it go, just like that." Scully's eyes watered again at the sensitivity of Mulder's words. They spent the whole night kissing and talking sweet talk and talking about the rumors going around the bureau. Soon enough they fell asleep. Georgetown Local Hospital, 9:45 a.m.: The blinds were closed and the only sound exposed was the IV pumping more water into Mulder's vein. Through the small window in the door, you could see the doctors, nurses, and visitors walking by. Mulder arose from his hospital bed, happy that he had made it through the night without falling into the coma again. He shifted his head to the left to find Scully sitting on the chair beside his bed, leaning her head on her folded arms. Mulder looked at her in awe and wonder. God, she's so beautiful. Thank you for giving her to me, thought Mulder. He just laid back in his bed and stared at her for a while. Suddenly, his hypnosis was interrupted by the turn of the doorknob. "Mr. Mulder?" said Dr. Pillory, as he stepped in. "I'm so glad to see you so recuperated. My nurse told me you awoke yesterday." "Yeah." Said Mulder. "Oh, sorry for not introducing my self, hi, I'm Dr. Pillory." Dr. Pillory glanced over at the sleeping Scully. "I heard you're engaged to Mrs. Scully. You're very lucky. She's been here everyday, and everyday she seemed to not stop crying." Complimented the doctor. "Thank you" responded Mulder. He stroked Scully's hair with his IV injected hand. "Well, I'll leave you two alone. I'll be outside if you need anything." The doctor turned around and left Mulder and Scully with the silence. After another while, Scully awoke to the strokes of Mulder's fingers through her hair. "Hi, Hun." He said as she raised her head to view him. "Hi." Replied Scully, still woozy. "How are you feeling?" asked Scully. "Okay. How are you feeling?" "Tired. I haven't had a good sleep in days." Mulder gently placed his hand on her face. "Why don't you go home and get some sleep" "Nah, I feel fine. Really." "No. You are going to get up and take yourself to your house." Replied Mulder. He had an angry tone in his voice. "Are you gonna be okay?" questioned Scully. "I'll be fine. Now go. That's an order!" he joked. Scully kissed him good bye and walked out the door. Scully's Car, 10:06 a.m.: Scully stepped into her car and drove away. She was midway home, and the whole time thinking about Mulder. The light at the post turned red. Scully stopped at the light and waited for the turn signal. When the time came, she turned the steering wheel towards the left. She spontaneously looked to her right and there was a truck charging right at her. She tried to speed by it, but couldn't. She sat in horror as her whole world turned black^ Georgetown Local Hospital, 11:15 p.m.: Mulder was sitting quietly at his bed reading his 'Details' magazine. This month, Pamela Anderson was on the cover, so he was eager to read it. He occasionally drifted off and day dreamed about Scully and him. Getting married, having kids, having grand kids, etceteras. He couldn't wait. When he got out of the hospital, he was gonna have Scully's ring engraved. "Mr. Mulder?" interrupted Dr. Pillory. He walked in with a straight face. "Yes?" he replied. Maybe it was that he couldn't get out of the hospital for another week, or that they have to give him an injection, or^no, no, it couldn't be Scully. "What is it?" he asked again. "Mr. Mulder, Mrs. Scully had a car accident. She's bruised up real bad. Right now she's in ER." Explained Dr. Pillory. Mulder internally gasped. This couldn't be happening. Not to him. Not to Scully. Not to them. "Can I see her?" questioned Mulder, as he sat up more in his bed. "Well, maybe. We'll have to take you in a wheelchair." "I don't care." The wheel chair was there in a couple of minutes. He hopped in slowly and gently and carried the IV cart with him. In a matter of minutes he was down stairs. They left him and his wheelchair by Scully's door. He looked through the small glass window in her door and then walked in. Scully was in the bed and was bruised with scratches all over. She was semi-awake, and managed to recognize Mulder. "Mulder^" she barely whispered. She naturally ached all over and couldn't talk. Mulder came closer. "Yeah, I'm here." He replied. "Mulder, what's happening to us? Why all these problems all of a sudden? I don't understand." "Fate. Bad Luck. Our destiny. Scully, this maybe happening now but I'm sure that we'll get through this. We're both strong." "Yeah, but why now? When we're about to get married, when we're happiest? The same thing happened that day I told you I was going to resign, and you were about to kiss me? The stupid bee came, and we didn't get a chance." "I know, but we will." They grabbed hands and stayed there for a while, together. One month later, Scully's Apartment, 5:35 p.m.: "Yeah, but no, I like this one better." Said Mulder as he pointed at the dress in the catalog. "Mm, this one with the flowers, I like best." She replied. It had been a month since the incident with the coma and the truck and Mulder and Scully were planing their wedding. They had already chosen the bridesmaids, maid of honor, ushers, and the best man, Frohike. "Hey, are we actually gonna let Diana be out maid of honor?" "Are you kidding? Of course! I want her to be there when I'm marring her ex, the most gorgeous man alive! So she can see what she missed and what I got my hands on! Yeah, I want her to be there." "You're so bad, Dana! Damn! I marring a devil!" Joked Mulder. "I can't wait until you're my wife." "Well, watch out cause I tell people that you're my husband already." They laughed and kissed once again, one of a thousand times. The phone rang right then and there. "I'll get it." Said Scully. She stood up but was stopped by Mulder's hands around her waist. "No! Let me go! Mulder, let me get the phone! Damn it Mulder!" chuckled Scully as she deliberately sat back down. Mulder stood up behind her laughing. "Hehello?" he answered, still laughing. In minutes, Mulder's face turned from content and happy to disposed and angry. He hung up the phone and placed it on the table. "What happened, babe? You look pale." Asked Scully. Mulder came and sat down next to her. "Scully, the doctor just gave me some good news and some bad news." He sat and sighed. Scully looked at him straight in the eye. "The good news is, you're pregnate and you're gonna have a baby." "Oh my God, Mulder! Really? We're gonna be parents? This is so great." She paused, again regaining the straight face. "Hold on. You said 'you're gonna have a baby'. This is you're baby too!" "No it's not Scully." "What do you mean?" "The DNA match me. It's not my baby. The DNA matches^you^and^" To be continued^
