Rating; humor (my first, I think.)

Category; Mulder Scully UST, friendship.

Spoilers; none

Summary; Mulder challenges Scully to a game of Mario Kart..

Archive; any where just let me know and keep my name with it.

Feedback; greatly appreciated but all flames will be filed away with
all the other X-Files that the government doesn't want us to see.

Disclaimer; Mulder, Scully, and Skinner belong to Chris Carter. I do
not own these characters all though sometimes I wish I could...  <eg>
Nintendo 64 and Mario Kart belong to Nintendo and the wonderful
Japanese!

Notes; I think this is my shortest fic. Oh well, school just started
and I write at least one or two a week. :} usually when I'm supposed
to be ding something else.but don't we all do that?

The Game

Scully stepped out of the elevator to the basement and was just about to 
step inside her and Mulder's office. She stopped though when she 
heard cursing from within. She hesitantly opened the door and found 
Mulder sitting with his back towards her.
"Mulder, what are you doing?"
"Morning, Scully. Wanna play?"
"Play what.?"
She slowly walked into the office and found him playing with a 
Nintendo 64.
"Marion Kart."
"Mulder! You've got to be kidding!? If Skinner comes down here and 
finds you goofing off, he'll have both of our heads!"
"Oh come on, Scully. Just one game? Please?"
He turned around and gave her one of his puppy dig faces. Scully gave 
a half smile of amusement and sat down in her chair.
"Thanks, Scully. Ok, here's the deal. If I win, you do all the paper work 
for a week---"
"Which I do anyhow."
"Ha ha. And if you win, I'll do the paper work."
Scully smiled and close her eyes, picturing him staying up every night 
do get the work done. She let out a small laugh and opened her eyes.
"Ok, deal."
Mulder smiled, turned the 64 on and gave her a red controller. To his 
surprise, she knew how to hold it. That's when he was wondering what 
he had gotten himself into.
"Scully..do you know how to play.?"
She gave an evil grin.
"Maybe."
As soon as he saw the grin he knew he had gotten himself into trouble.
"You ready?"
"Yep."
Mulder picked 2-player, virsus.
"Ok, pick your character."
Scully moved the control stick and picked Peach. When Mulder picked 
Donkey Kong, Scully laughed.
"I'm not saying a word."
"What? DK's my fav. character. You can pick the course."
Scully grinned and picked Royal Raceway. She saw him cringe and 
knew she was going to win. He didn't know it but she had played this 
game many times before while baby sitting her godson. Mulder shifted 
in his chair.
"Are you sure you want that course? It's pretty hard."
"I don't mind. Besides, I am the princess.
He sighed and started the race. As soon as the light turned green, Scully 
got a boost start and took the lead. Mulder caught up fast but couldn't 
get ahead of her. As soon as she got a question box, she dropped a 
banana right behind her which, of course, Mulder hit. She laughed and 
kept on driving. By the third lap Mulder was in the lead but not by far. 
Just as he was about to cross the finish line, Scully nailed him with a 
spike shell and finished first. Mulder sat gapping at the TV. He 
couldn't believe what he saw. Scully had beaten him. He looked over to 
her to find her watching him with a wide grin.
"I hope you like staying up late every night, cause that's what you're 
going to be doing."
"That..that was no fair! How did you do that?"
Scully smiled
"I'll race ya again."
"You're on!"
this time Mulder picked a different character; Toad. Scully let him pick 
the course. He picked Toad's Turnpike, on the Extra selection so 
everything was backwards. Not just the course, but the cars too. They 
came at you instead of driving with you. As soon as the race began, 
Mulder took the lead but soon got hit by a truck. The whole race, he got 
hit by everything. Car's, truck's, busses, bananas, shell's, everything. 
The only thing that Scully hit was one of her own bananas. 
"Two to nothing. Again, you lose Mulder."
He dropped his head in defeat.
"all right, all right, you win."
Scully got up behind him and gently rubbed his shoulders and neck.
"I'm sorry I beat you, Mulder but I guess I should have told you I've 
played this maybe times before when ever I baby sit my godson."
Mulder sighed and leaned his head back to look at her.
"Yeah. I think that would have been a good idea."
Scully laughed gently and kissed his forehead.
"I'm sure you'll find something to beat me at."
With that, she stopped rubbing his shoulders and walked away to her 
desk before he could say anything else.
