He closed the television set and, after putting back down the remote, he returned his attention to his partner. Scully smiled at him as it was her turn to put down her beer and her half-eaten bowl of non-buttered pop-corn. She sat back and looked into his deep azel eyes, still wondering what he had wished for as his last wish. SCULLY Mulder? We need to talk. We need to have a serious conversation. MULDER I know. (pause) And, I take it you want to be the first one to go ahead, huh?! SCULLY Yes. (sigh) It's hard for me to say this. I don't know what the outcome of it will be. It might affect our partnership, but I sure hope it won't hurt our friendship. MULDER Looks like this something you have to tell me is serious... SCULLY It is! (pause) Mulder? I don't love you. (sigh) I don't love you, but I am in love with you. I am madly in love with you. And, I've been for a while now. MULDER Wow! (long breath) I don't know what to say to this. I can't think of a good reply, but are you sure you are? I've been such a jerk with you... How can you love me after all of this? SCULLY I knew I shouldn't have told you about this. MULDER No! (pause) No... In the contrary... (sigh) You did a very good thing by telling me your feelings towards me. You just made me speechless, but you can't know how happy I am. You made me a very happy man. I am so relieved that you told me this. SCULLY Excuse me?! (cough) Relieved? MULDER Yes... Relieved that my feelings for you aren't for nothing, but that they're even paying off big time. (grin) Relieved that it is mutual, though I also love you. I am in love with you, but I also love you so much! SCULLY Now, I'm speechless! (giggle) MULDER Well... You don't have to say anything. Let's just take time to deal with it. Then, we'll cope with the rest. Okay? SCULLY What did I ever do to deserve you? MULDER Shouldn't I be asking that? (laugh) They both were silent for awhile. Both thought about kissing the other for the first time, the first real time since that New Year's Eve kiss was so chaste. But, none of them had the courage, nor the guts, to move. And Scully broke the silence. SCULLY So... Mulder? Was that your last wish? (pause) Because if it is, you lost a nice wish for nothing. I would have told you I loved you anyway because I really have loved you for a long time already. MULDER (smile) No... This wasn't my wish. SCULLY What was it then? Did you make the aliens go away? Did you wish for CGB to die? MULDER Oh! I knew I was forgetting something... (laugh) No... I didn't wish for either of that, though I probably should've... SCULLY Fortunately, you didn't. We still have to save the world by ourselves. (giggle) So? MULDER I gave the geniah her normal life back. (pause) I wished for her last wish to be undone and she has become human again, and mortal. You should've seen the look on her face. (sigh) I think she was about to cry. SCULLY You did good, Mulder. I'm proud of you. (pause) So, what shall we do now? MULDER I rented Disney's "Aladdin"...
