GLASSES 1/1
By: Paula Kinch

It was really quite a careless move to leave them just sitting there
on the desk. It was inevitable that when Marita sashayed into the room, her
trench coat would knock Mulder's glasses to the floor. There they lay
unnoticed by Mulder who was sitting on his chair, and Marita, who proceeded
to plunk her firm ass on top of the desk, crossing her shapely legs.

The conversation was short and soon it was time for Marita to leave.
She uncrossed her legs and stood up, expecting her heel to meet the floor,
but
this was not to be. Instead, the stiletto made contact with one of the
lenses, grinding and cracking it as she swiveled around. Shocked by the
unfamiliar sensation, she yanked up her heel to try to place it on firm
ground, thus making contact with the other lens, which befell a fate
similar to that of the first. She looked down to the floor with the
realization of what she had done and tried to shove the catastrophe under
Mulder's desk, but it was too late, for he had seen everything.

Mulder could not believe his eyes as he looked under the desk and saw
the spectacles lying in a pathetic heap. He had been under so much stress
lately with Scully's progressing illness that something snapped inside of
him. He lost all control of his actions and became quite irrational. Marita
looked at Mulder and saw a look of outrage appear on his face. She made a
dash for the door, but tripped over the mutilated glasses, striking her
head on the floor. As she had been rendered unconscious, it was easier for
Mulder to carry out the punishment. He approached her still body and slung
it over his shoulders like a sack of small potatoes. Mulder returned to his
chair and placed Marita in it, tying her arms and legs securely to prevent
her from escaping upon her return to consciousness. He sat back and waited,
still not himself.

It was not very long before Marita started coming to, and it was time
for Mulder to start carrying out her punishment. Marita opened her mouth to
tell him something, but this only made Mulder even more outraged. Flailing
out in anger, he knocked over a lamp, which in turn knocked over a cheap
glass vase that had been collecting dust. (Housekeeping was never one of
his virtues). The glass shattered into many pieces. Taking up a
particularly large shard of glass, that ended in a razor-sharp point,
Mulder plunged it into her thigh. While Marita uttered a heartbreaking
wail, Mulder carved his name, her name, and Scully's name into the smooth
flesh. From the wound first came a thin line of crimson, but it soon came
out in a torrent, staining the floor. The ropes held a writhing Marita
firmly to the chair.

It was at this point that Scully entered the room. The first thing she
saw was Marita's blonde hair and hit the boiling point. "Slut," she thought
to herself, "trying to seduce Mulder." Scully walked over, ready to deal
out
her own punishment. Mulder turned to Scully and without words, both knew
what would happen next. Mulder used his fingers to pry Marita's eyes open,
while Scully's freshly manicured nails stabbed into the eyeballs and raked
the sockets clean. Once she could no longer see. Mulder picked up the
glasses and put them on Marita's face. She was clearly on the road to death
now, so Mulder and Scully retreated to watch her die slowly. Any more would
have sped up the process and cheated them out of a good show.

Once Scully confirmed that Marita had passed on, she had Mulder
smuggle
the body out of the building and the two agents buried her in an unmarked
grave. Upon their return to the office, they cleaned up the mess so that it
was as if Marita had never come to visit Mulder. The two agents went their
separate ways and when they awoke the next morning, there was no
recollection of the incident. The crime was never investigated, because
nobody cared about Marita, and all were glad that she never showed up
again.
