I accidently sent! here's my story Source: direct classification: x-x-files Story 1 Part 1/2 Title: Golden Cup Alex (Owlex88@aol.com) A mother is in her daughters room. "Sweet Dreams," she said. She kissed her daughter with a soft goodnight kiss, leaving her alone in her bedroom. She turned out the lights and closed the door. The small daughter, (Faith), started to fall asleep in her bedroom. She slowly sank into the covers. She kept repeatedly hearing her mother saying "Sweet Dreams" in the same tone, and it wrapped herself like thunder, more and more into a nightmare. Faith dreamt that she was on a hill, smelling the flowers, when suddenly the weirdest feeling came over her. She somehow just knew in her dream that her father was dead. She loved her father, and she would do anything to keep him alive for as long as she lived, but somehow, she just had the feeling that he was dead, and that someone was watching her. She turned around, and saw a man behind her, 3 feet away, with a knife. Faith woke up by the sound of a scream. It didn't take her long to figure out that it was her scream. Mom! Come here!" she screamed. Faith was only 6 years old. Her mom came running to her. "What is it?" she asked, "Did you have a nightmare?" "I guess," Faith answered, "how is dad?" "He's fine," she said. Faith swallowed hard. "Goodnight." Faith fell back asleep, and dreamt that she was on a hill, smelling flowers. She somehow knew that her father was dead, and that someone was watching her. She turned around, and saw a man, 1 foot away from her, with a knife. She woke up by the sound of her scream. "Mom! Come Here!" Her mom ran to her room. "Did you have a nightmare?" "How is Dad?" "He's fine." She swallowed, again, hard. "Goodnight." She fell back asleep and dreamt that she was on a hill, and she somehow knew that her dad was dead. She also felt that someone was watching her. She turned around, and saw a man, with a knife touching her neck. She woke herself up with a scream. "Mom! Come here!" Her mom once again, came upstairs, crying. "What's wrong?" Faith asked. "Dad's dead." It didn't take Faith's mom long to realize that Faith had a bruise on her neck, a small slice of a knife. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 6:08 AM The X-Files office Mulder walked into the office. "First time I've gotten here before you have in years, huh Mulder?" Scully said. Mulder grinned. "What was it you wanted to talk to me about-" "Also one of the first times I have had something to start with, maybe give you the evidence for once, and not have you take the lead, going off to some wacko alien bizarro junk." Mulder put his hand to his forehead. "I'm listening." "There was a death yesterday. The death of a father, a father of a 6 year-old child named Faith. Faith also was found with a gruesome knife mark on her neck." "Were there any fingerprints found on the mark?" "Nope." "How about any knife around the room?" Scully shook her head. "I believe this is some-" "Don't you start. Let's go to their house and investigate." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ A week later 7:47 AM Faith's House Scully knocked on the door of Faith's house. Faith's mother answered. "Excuse me, Mrs. Dobiel?" Scully said. "Yes. What is your business here?" "We're FBI agents." Scully took out her FBI badge. "We would like to ask you and your daughter a few questions." "All right. Come on in." They both walked in. "What are all of these?" Mulder asked, pointing to a table with miniature toys set out neatly on it. "Those are little toys that our father used to make for Faith, my daughter. She used to love playing with them." "Have you noticed anything unusual happening here lately?" "Yes, actually. Faith has been having nightmares, a lot these days. Her dad just died. She almost seemed to predict he was going to die, because she kept asking me how he was. Also, she woke up one night with a knife mark on her neck." Mulder and Scully looked at each other. "Is it alright if we could talk to Faith, for a minute?" Scully asked. "Sure," said Mrs. Dobiel, "She's right upstairs." Scully winked at Mulder, and they both walked up to Faith's room. Mulder knocked on her door. "Faith," he said, "Please let us in. We're FBI agents." Faith opened the door. She was in her nightgown. She had been sleeping. "Your mom tells us you have been having nightmares," Scully said. "What can you tell us about them? Faith looked up at Scully. "Oh my gosh," Faith said. "I just dreamt that you were coming over to our house. Let me guess. Your names are...Diana Scully, and Wolf Mulder?" "Fox Mulder," Mulder said, looking embarrassed, "And Dana Scully. How did you know that?" "I told you. I dreamt it. For the last nights, it seems like everything I've been dreaming is coming true." "How long has it been?" Scully asked her. "About a week," Faith replied to her. "Is there anything that you can remember that happened right before you were dreaming all this bizarre voodoo that comes true?" Mulder asked. "Yes," Faith answered, "I had just gotten a present for my birthday, from my dad. It was a pure gold cup, but somehow your reflection looked like it was in a fantasy book." "What were you dreaming a week ago?" Mulder asked. Scully elbowed him. "If it doesn't hurt to tell," she said. "I dreamt that I was sitting on a really big hill, full of grass and leaves. I was picking flowers, and smelling them." Faith began to cry. "Have you ever been so worried about something that you felt like it was real?" Scully nodded. "Well, I just knew that my father was dead. I thought that someone was watching me. I turned around, and there was a man behind me with a knife. I dreamt the same dream over and over, and the man kept getting closer, until he was pressing the knife against my neck. I awoke, and my dad was dead, and I had a knife bruise on my neck." "Thank-you. We'll be out, talking to your mom." Faith nodded and lay on her bed. Scully closed the door and pulled Mulder over in the hallway. "What do you think it is?" she asked him. "I don't only think, but I know that this girls dreams are coming true. I thin k that the cup she was talking about, maybe it's some kind of cup that if you take a sip out of, your dreams come true for the rest of your life." "Mulder, that's impossible." "Scully, after all that you've seen, and what you just heard, you can still not believe that this girl does have dreams that are coming true?" Scully looked at Mulder. "Come on," she said. "Let's go." They both walked down the stairs to Ms. Dobiel. "Thank-you for your help," Scully said. Suddenly, the furniture started moving around in the room, like it was floating. "Mulder," Scully said. Mulder ran upstairs to see Faith, and the furniture was floating around in her room, too. She was fast asleep, in her bed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 9:16 AM The pet store Scully was so sad about Queequeg dying. She remembered that she had always liked cats, but she was afraid that even though Queequeg was a small dog, he might scare the cats. She decided that she'd try getting a tabby cat. She loved those cats. She loved their wonderful, black stripes. She bought a cat and drove home to her apartment. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 9:45 Faith's House Faith had just woken up and taken a shower. She got dressed, and went to see her mom. "You know what?" Faith said to her mom, "I think that we should get a tabby cat." Ms. Dobiel gave Faith a very strange look. "Faith," she began, "You know that you're allergic to cats. Why would you want to get one to make your asthma, and my asthma worse?" Faith though for a moment. "Well, your right," she said, "But have you ever had a dream that was so good you wanted it to come true? I just had a dream that the lady FBI agent that came here the other day got a cat. It somehow just made me want to get a cat. I don't know why." Ms. Dobiel picked up the phone, and called agent Scully. (She had given Ms. Dobiel her number). Ms. Dobiel heard Scully's answering machine go off. "Hi Scully. This is Ms. Dobiel. I heard that you got a cat. Wow! What's it's name? I hope that you enjoy spending time with it. Please call me back at 555-7118. Thanks. Bye." A day passed. Faith got up at about 7:00. She walked over to her mom, and said that she had a really weird dream. In it Scully's cat grew really big, and it got so big that it was to big for her house, and that she had to take it back to the store, and get another cat. She got Calico this time. The phone rang. Ms. Dobiel answered it. "Hi this is Scully." "Hi Scully." "Well, I named my cat Lyra. She's really sweet." "I'm glad to hear that." "She's grown, though. I got her as a kitten, and she's already the size of a medium sized cat!" Ms. Dobiel paused. "How did you know that I had a cat, Ms. Dobiel?" Ms. Dobiel couldn't stand it any longer. She hung up on Scully, and called Mulder. Mulder answered the phone. "Hi....Mulder?" "Yes." "This is Ms. Dobiel. It seems as if my child's dreams have been coming true. I have been making guesses with them. Am I being compulsive? "Actually no. I believe that your kids dreams are coming true." "Why didn't you tell me?" "I was afraid that you'd get scared." Ms. Dobiel raised her voice. "I'm her mother." "Just, wait. I'm doing the best I can. I think that-" "You have to tell me what Faith is going through. How does she get out?" Ms. Dobiel began to cry. "I don't know." Mulder paused. "But I am guessing, that the golden cup that her father gave her for her birthday reminded her of something, and the girls obsessive compulsiveness made the girl think that her dreams were coming true. They are not really coming true, Ms. Dobiel. We are just stuck in her thoughts, her imagination. We have to find a way out." "Do you mean that if we get out of her thoughts, her father will become back alive again?" "Yes, Ms. Dobiel. She is just letting her mind wander, in a story, but we are becoming more and more stuck in it. That is why her dreams are coming true." "Well then, how do we get out?" "I don't know," Mulder said, "I don't know." Ms. Dobiel said goodbye and hung up. She called Scully back. She wasn't home. "Probably bringing Lyra back to the pet store," she thought. Faith awoke early the next morning. She ran to her mom and said, "Mom! I had a nightmare! I had a dream that, you no those FBI people? I dreamt that the FBI people decided to go camping together, so they bought a tent and left to the camping sight. While they were camping, all this crazy stuff was happening to them. In the end, they both died." Ms. Dobiel ran to the phone. She called Scully. She told them not to go on a camping trip with Mulder. "It's none of your business what I do with Mulder! Sorry! Gosh, mind your own business. Go for a hike. Gotta finish packing. Bye." Ms. Dobiel's mind was blank. She didn't no what to do. Scully was acting so mean and ignoring her advice because this was Faiths dream. They were all in Faith's mind. Mulder and Scully were going to die, just like Faith said, and there was nothing anyone could do about it. END OF PART 1 Part 2 Title: Pella Alex (Owlex88@aol.com) Mulder and Scully were both up, out of bed early to leave together on their trip to Iowa. They both were excited, and they were going to leave in 1 hour. They quickly got up, and Mulder drove to a camping store. He bought a 2 person tent, and kept driving. "Are you excited, Scully?" "Ya. I never thought that I'd ever go on a camping trip with you Mulder. I'm really excited." Mulder's cell phone rang. Mulder answered it. "Mulder." It was Ms. Dobiel. "Mulder. Please! Do not go on a camping trip with Scully. I need you to trust me. You must not go on your camping trip with her." "How did you know that I was on a camping trip with Scully?" "It doesn't matter. Just come home." "How did you know?" Ms. Dobiel sighed. "Faith dreamt it. She said that you'd die on the trip." Mulder hung up the phone. He was silent for a moment. "Scully?" He said. "Yes." "Let's go home." "Of course not!" Ms. Dobiel was at home. She realized that she should not have told Mulder the truth. She also knew that they would not go back home, because it was a dream that would come true, no matter what. "Mom!" Ms. Dobiel heard Faith's call. "I had a nightmare!" (opening theme!) Mulder got out his bag of sunflower seeds. He offered some to Scully, and kept driving. He suddenly saw a man that he recognized standing in the middle of the street. It was the Cigarette Smoking man. Mulder parked the car. "What are you doing here?" he asked, as he got out of the car. "I have come a long way, Mr. Mulder. I have come to warn you." "Why are you helping us?" Scully asked him. "Go home," said the CSM. "Why? We're on vacation," Scully said. "Actually, Scully.... I think that he's right. We probably should go home." Mulder's cell phone rang. He answered it. "Mulder?" "Mulder this it Ms. Dobiel. I was calling to tell you that my daughter didn't really dream that you would die on this trip. It's an April Fools joke." Mulder looked at his watch. Sure enough, it was April 1st. "Well, ma'am, thanks." "Sure." She hung up. Ms. Dobiel felt bad that she had lied to Mulder. She also knew that lying to Mulder might have been the right thing to do, so that he and Scully would die without worrying, or feeling anxious. "Excuse me, Mr. Spender, but what have you ever done for me? Why would you be helping us, and how do I know that you're not only ruining our trip, but helping us?" Scully asked. "I have come here today as a friend, Ms. Scully. Your lives are in great danger," said the CSM. "What makes you think that we'll believe you?" "That is all I will say. My advice to you both is to go home." He walked away. Mulder and Scully looked at each other and rolled they're eyes. They stepped back into the car, and Scully sat imitating the CSM. Mulder chuckled listening to her. Finally Scully stopped mimicking. "Could you read me the directions from here, Scully?" Scully opened a list of instructions. "Sure, at the next light, turn left. The sign should say 'Pella.' Continue driving forward, and we're here!" "I'll set up the tent, Scully." "Alright. I'll be getting on my swimming suit, and swimming in the lake. Call me if you need help getting the tent set up." Mulder slapped his hands together. "See ya!" Mulder could watch Scully swimming laps, as he set up the tent. He took all of their cloths and the radio into the tent. The radio didn't have any batteries in it, so he put in new ones. "What a fine trip his should be!" Mulder thought. 3:58 PM Faith's house Ms. Dobiel came into Faith's room. "What was your nightmare, sweetie?" Faith looked up into her mom's hazel eyes. "I had a dream that over the night, someone put lots of drugs in our dinner foods." Ms. Dobiel was speechless. "That's a terrible dream, but I'll go shopping. I'll be back soon." What Ms. Dobiel never did was throw out the soup, bread, chicken, etc. Mulder had just finished cooking a fish, and he began to finish it up. Hey Scully, come here," He called to her. Scully dried off. She walked over to him. "What?" "I bought you a present yesterday. It's a canoe! Want to go canoeing?" "Sure! I'll make some sandwiches!" When Mulder had finished changing into his swimming pants, the sandwiches were ready. "Put it in the water!" Mulder said. "Let's get in. I'll row on one side, you on the other." As they were rowing through the water, they saw a bear on the shore. "Mulder, look at the bear!" "Wow, it's pretty. Let's hike on that rock for a snack." They rowed over to the rock. "What kind of sandwiches did you make?" "I made myself a turkey, but I didn't know whether you'd want peanut-butter and sunflower seed or peanut butter and jam," Scully teased. "I made Peanut butter and Jelly." Mulder sunk his teeth into the sandwich. "Ooh! With strawberry jam! My favorite kind!" Scully paused. "Look at that seaweed," Scully said. Mulder looked, expecting to say "so, a piece of seaweed. Big Deal!" but instead the seaweed was rainbow. "Wow! That's amazing!" he said Scully picked it up. "Ouch!" she said. "What's wrong?" "It's stuck to my hand." "Is it a leech?" "They don't have leeches in Pella." "Well, get it off!" Mulder tried to pull it off, as hard as he could, but it started wrapping Scully more and more into it. Mulder pulled so hard that a tiny piece came off, and he went tumbling off the rock. The water somehow seemed boiling hot. It was. "AHHHH! Scully!" Mulder said. "Give me your hand! It's boiling hot!" Scully felt the water with her hand. "Don't worry, Mulder. I'll get you out of there." Scully started to peal her "weird leechy thing" off. Mulder I current started, and Scully finally grabbed Mulder's hand, and pulled him up. They both got in the boat. Mulder wasn't well enough to steer back. He just lay in the canoe. Scully quickly got to shore and carried Mulder into the tent. He had burns all over him. She found a cold rag and rubbed it all over his back, chest, stomach, legs, feet, arms, and face. He lay still in his sleeping bag. Mulder was burned bad, but he made it through the rest of the day. He was better the next morning. Scully leech marks had healed. They were both all right. But not for long. Ms. Dobiel was walking all around the store, looking for new soup for the dinner that they had that night. She got the same kind that they had at home. She got some, and drove home. The next morning Mulder woke up, and they found that someone had stolen all there food. Mulder thought that the bear might have come in and eaten things over the night. He knew that was was what happened, when he saw Scully with paw marks all over her, and huge prints and scratches. "Scully, are you all right?" "I'm fine." "You don't look fine." "Well, the bear didn't scratch me too bad." Mulder looked sad. "I'll find something to eat." Mulder was about to walk out of the tent, when suddenly a large and heavy tree fell on their tent. Mulder and Scully were stuck, with the sitting on top of both of them. It had broken through the top of there tent. Mulder moved out of the way, and moved Scully out. She wasn't breathing. Mulder carried her out onto the ground. He did CPR on her, and she began to slowly cough. "What a great trip," Mulder thought. Here he was, burned badly, in the middle of the woods, without a tent, or food, with his partner dying. This was the worst of it all: He looked behind him, and saw a bomb slowly ticking away, 10...9...8...7... Ms. Dobiel had just finished cooking the soup. Since she had forgotten to take the soup with drugs in it out, she had cooked the wrong soup. Shortly after dinner was when she realized Faith was poisoned, and that she was, too. Faith died that evening. Ms. Dobiel was crying, but everything that happened seemed to come undone. Faith's father was back, Ms Dobiel wasn't poisoned any more, and Mulder and Scully had never gone on a trip in the first place. Ms. Dobiel didn't know what she could do to make up for her daughters death, so she decided to become an FBI agent, and work for it.
