And my Prayers have been answered," Scully commented "In more ways than one." Mulder replied rather harshly Scully looked down at her stomach, "Mulder..." "I'm sorry. I don't mean to be cold or ungrateful. I just ... I have no idea where I fit in right now. I just ... uh ... I'm having a little trouble processing ... everything." Mulder apologized "Well," Scully sighed, "I was hoping, that..." she trailed off "hoping that you would, maybe- ONLY if you want to... be apart of this. But again, only if you want to..." she finished, finally. There was a long pause, until Mulder spoke up; "Are you sure, I mean? I'm not really the best guy you could find... you- and this baby- deserve so much better than me." "Oh, Mulder," she laughed, "Why do you think I didn't-or haven't- left the X-Files, or you? Why do you think that I searched for months to find you, spending every moment I could looking? Or the fact that I still have your apartment, although you were dead for three months?" she stopped for a moment, thinking over her thoughts. "...Why do you think I asked you to father my child?" Scully finished quietly, glaring at Mulder, waiting for an answer. When none came (other than a blank look) from Mulder, she simply replied, "...Because, Mulder, I love you." His head cocked up with that comment; and Scully continued, "I don't know what my life would be like without you, I got a taste of it- when we found you dead. It was Hell on Earth. Oh, Mulder..." *cough* "...I denied it, I refused to believe it, everyone told me to move on, but even after we buried you, I knew it wasn't over, I knew I had to hold on, not only for me, but for *our* baby." She whispered, as she placed Mulder's hand on top of her bulging stomach. The baby kicked. Scully smiled. Mulder laughed. "But you're back, and I couldn't be happier at this very moment." "Neither could I, Scully. Neither could I," Mulder replied as he pulled his love into his arms. "I'll be here the whole way," he said into Scully's hair. "Look what time it is!" Scully exclaimed, as she peeked over at the clock on Mulder's apartment wall, still holding onto Mulder, not wanting to let go. "D'you wanna get something to eat? Maybe some pizza?" "Anything will be better than that hospital food." He chuckled while helping Scully into her jacket, then heading out the door, looking it behind him. They headed out to the car in a comfortable silence, once reaching the car, Mulder said, "Scully?" "Hmm?" she asked opening the car door before getting in. "I love you, too."
