She still hadn't seen Scully and had no idea who he was staring at. "It's her." he whispered. He was just standing there staring at her. Almost as if he was paralyzed. "Dana honey, where are you going?" Jim asked as she started walking towards Mulder. "It's him." she whispered. Finally he started walking towards her. It took all of her self-control to not run to him and kiss him. When they reached each other Scully said, "Fox, we need to go somewhere where we can talk." "Sure. Let's go outside." AS they left everybody started talking and gossiping. Deanna and Jim were both standing there speechless. Once they were outside Scully was the first one to talk. "So, how have you been?" she asked. She knew this was going to be difficult but she had to get everything cleared up between her and Mulder. She had to find out if he still loved her. "I've been doing okay. And you?" he asked. "I've been doing fine." she replied. she couldn't beat around the bush any longer. She had to say it soon. "I missed you. I'm really sorry about what I said. I didn't mean any of it. I just got a little paranoid. I guess I felt that I wasn't good enough for you so I made an excuse to get away from you. I hope you'll forgive me." she said as she was holding back tears that threatened to fall. She was almost successful except for that one tiny tear that escaped from her eye. "I missed you too." Mulder said as he wiped the tear from her cheek. "Dana, you shouldn't feel that way. You are the most perfect woman that I have ever known. I love you so much and I would like a chance to start over." he said. "I'd like that very much." she said. And then, as if to prove how dedicated she was to making this work, she kissed him. When they finally broke away he asked, "So, do I get another chance?" "Oh yeah." she said. "There's only one small problem." "Oh, and what's that?" she asked. "What are we going to do about Deanna and Jim?" "Well, we have to tell them sooner or later. So we might as well tell them now." Scully said. "Maybe we can fix them up with each other." "Do you think that they'd go for it?" "It's worth a try." he said. Then they went back inside to try to explain things to Deanna and Jim. When Mulder and Scully walked in they were surprised at what they saw. Jim and Deanna were kissing. When they saw Mulder and Scully walk in they broke the kiss. Scully and Mulder both breathed a sigh of relief. This wasn't going to be as hard as they thought. "This isn't what it looks like!" Jim and Deanna exclaimed at the same time. "It's okay." said Mulder and Scully at the same time. "What do you mean?" Deanna asked. "Perhaps we should discuss this outside." Mulder suggested. The group nodded in agreement. "Once they were outside they all started talking at once. "Hold it!" Mulder yelled. "One at a time please. Jim and Deanna go first." Mulder said. "Well," Jim started, "Deanna and I used to be lovers." "We didn't know the other was going to be here." Deanna added. "And then after you two left we saw each other and all of our old feelings came back and we had to act on them." said Jim. "We decide to get back together." added Deanna. Mulder and Scully both breathed a sigh of relief. "We have something to tell you, too." said Mulder. "After we saw each other tonight all of out old feeling started coming back..." "And we decided to get back together again." Scully finished for Mulder. "Well then, I guess that's taken care of." said Jim. "I guess there's nothing to do now but go home." said Deanna. So Deanna left with Jim and Scully left with Mulder. Each couple was eager to get home so they could start a brand new life with each other. The End Did this story live up to you expectations?
