Mulder proposed...to her...it wasn't quite sinking in yet. "So..Do you have an answer for me??" Mulder asked with a grin on his face. "Fox William Mulder, I will marry you." He leaned over and kissed her passionatly, and she returned it. When they both backed away, Mulder noticed tears rolling down Scully's cheeks. He gingerly brushed them off with his thumb and spoke in a caring loving voice..."I love you...and our baby"he patted her stomach, "and I want to spend the rest of my life with both of you" Maggie Scully emerged from the corner of the room where she had been, and congratulated them. She then left the room. Poor Dana had had so many bad things happen top her...the cancer, the time she was "abducted", the time in Antarctica where if it had not been for Fox, she would have surely died, and then the time she had found and then all too soon lost little Emily.. She was relieved to finally see that she was going to be happy, and have a family in 5 more months. Yes, things were finally falling into place. *************************************************** The next day, Scully was released from the hospital. She had to rest for a few days, then she could return to work. Mulder arrived to take her home and he was greeted by a glowing Scully. "Hi, there dad." she greeted Mulder. "Hiya, mom." He walked over a gently kissed her cheek, he just couldn't get enough of that sweet stuff called Scully. "Lets get out of here, Mulder." They were off to Scully's apartment very soon. **************************************************** "God, she is beautiful" he thought. They had arrived at Scully's around noon, eaten lunch, and then Scully had fallen asleep on the couch. She'd just been "resting her eyes", on Mulder's lap and she had fallen asleep over 2 hours ago. He figured it was about time that he brought her to her bed. He slowly stood up and carefully placed her arms around his neck. He reached under her legs and lifted her up. She was heavier now then she had been when he had rescued her from those cyropods in Antarctica a month ago. But, she was still quite light. Mulder thought about that horrible time when she was going to leave him to work in Utah. He had chased her into the hallway and proffesed his love to her... "But you saved me. As difficult and frusterating as it has been at times, your goddamned strict rationalism and science has saved me a thousand times over...You've kept me honest. You made me a whole person. I owe you everything Scully, and you owe me nothing. I don't know if I want to do this alone...I don't even know if I can." Then it struck him...if she's 4 months along, she must have been pregnant then. "Oh, god. What if that hurt the baby??" He was quickly becoming upset. He wasn't supposed to wake Scully up, doctors orders. He lay her down on the bed, covered her up kissed her hand and left. He had to leave, and get that thought out of his head. He had to go get some of his stuff, he was going to stay with Scully from now on. ************************************************* "Mulder??" Scully woke up and groggily called out his name. When she got up, she looked around for him he wasn' there. She figured that he was probably out running a few errands. She went to the kitchen to start some tea, unaware to the person just outside her apartment trying to get in, and it wasn't Mulder. ************************************************** Scully had finished making the tea and was heading towards her couch to enjoy it and wait for Mulder's return. She went and ploped herself down on her green and white striped couch. She was about to take the first sip of tea when she noticed that the door to her apartment was open. "That's one thing Mulder's gonna have to learn to do, that man is gonna take some time to turn into marriage material." she grinned at the thought of this. She got up rather slowly to close the door, she was still kind of groggy. She closed the door and returned to the couch, not noticing that the door had been pryed open. *************************************************** Scully decided to call Mulder and see what was going on, she'd been awake for an hour now and he wasn't back yet. She reached over to the coffee table which contained her cell phone, regular phone, and her gun. Even an off duty FBI agent was supposed to have their gun with them at all times. She grabbed her regular phone and pressed the memory button #1, and then Mulder's cell pone was ringing. "Mulder" "It's me, where are you?" "The lovely Scully has risen." "Yes, I have, but I miss my prince charming." "Who would that be?" "Mulder..." "I'm at home. I figured that since we're engaged now that I should probably move in with you and our little guy." "Sure, that sounds great. How much longer do you think you'll be?" "Do I get a hint that Dr. Scully needs Spooky Mulder around with her? I'm shocked!" "Just answer the question, Mulder" "Probably about another hour, do you need anything?" "No, I was just curious where you were, oh yeah, and next time close the door behind you, you wouldn't want someone coming and taking me away from you, now would we?" "I didn't leave the door open, I even locked it behind me..." "It was open Mulder, if you didn't do it then who di...Oh my god Mulder someone must be in the apartment with me" "Scully I want you to get out of ther now...I'm on my way there. Get outside of the building." But there was no response on the other line...all Mulder could hear were the cries of his fianc as the phone hit her over the head, and then the line went dead. ************************************************
