Summary: A electrocution case sends mulder and Scully to Baltimore 
Massachusetts

Author's notes: O.K. so this is NOT the first Fan fic I've published, 
but it is the only fan fic with no real MSR... (sob) If ya hate it, well 
then, pee pee on your head, but if you love it, I will forever pronouce 
a blessing upon your house

Here's my disclaimer: I would like to thank 1013 productions, The guy 
who dropped Chris Carter on his head when he was a baby, and of 
course Chris Carter! I also bow down to the mighty acting skills of the 
one and only Gillian Anderson and, of course I grovel at the feet of the 
most glorious David Duchovny! I do not Own Mulder, Scully, or Assistant 
Director Skinner (although I wish I did..... Could I maybe borrow them 
for one night???)

O.K. NOW ON WITH THE STORY.......


HIGH VOLTAGE......


It was a day that started out like any other day at the basement of 
the J. Edgar Hoover building, in Washington D.C.. Special Agent Fox
Mulder 
and his partner, Special Agent DR. Dana Scully, had arrived at work and 
were poring over the cases known as the X-files, when a call came from
A.D. 
Skinner's office. They were told to come up immediately. Scully sighed 
as
she got out of her chair.....This meeting could mean one of two 
things..... Either her partner was in EXTREME trouble, or they had 
another case............

   CHapter 2


"SO .... That's the case. Any questions??" Agent Skinner said to the 
duo. Scully glanced at Mulder, who had a wild expression on his face. 
She could tell that he was REALLY excited about this one. <oh no..... 
here we go again.

Scully listened to Mulder ramble on about the case, something about a
series of deaths in Baltimore, as they drove to Massachusetts Mulder 
then handed Scully a file filled with photos of bodies with burn marks
and 
discolored patches of skin. "Those look like electrocution burns, or 
even
from fibrillation." Scully stated, plainly. "Yeah but none of these
corpses were to be executed. The records for all these individuals were
clean." Informed Mulder. "So what's your theory, Mulder?" said Scully.
Mulder replied,"Well either there is some renegade lightning is stalking
victims and killing them, or somebody has somehow shocked these people 
to
death. Scully, I want you to autopsy these victims, and see if you can
find anything that may differ from any other natural lightning strike
victims." "Well I don't know what you expect me to find, Mulder, as 
much
as i have seen, these victims look like they were fibrillated by a
untrained EMT." Scully informed. 

In Baltimore, Four hours later... Scully and Mulder arrived at the 
scene of one of the deaths, searching for any clues missed by the local 
police department. The area was an old abandoned warehouse, filled with 
pipes and made of concrete. A curvy white line was drawn around the 
final
resting spot of the most recent victim. The victim was gone now and 
the warehouse was quiet, except for a drip every now and then. A pipe 
lie
some ways a way and looked if it was used for a weapon. For defense? 
or for other reasons? Mulder picked it up and placed it in a bag marked
evidence. Mulder stated that it should be sent to a lab and tested 
for any thing out of the ordinary. Seeing nothing else conclusive, 
Mulder

and Scully left for the local mortuary.


Chapter 3


Scully sighed as she looked at the corpse sitting on the autopsy 
table. She knew this was going to be a long one, so she got to work as
she 
turned on her microcassette recorder. "I will start with the Y incision"
she said she she opened the abdomen. She pulled out the bloody heart and
placed it on the scale
"Heart weighs approximately 285 grams, tissue appears healthy"
SHe placed the heart on one of the tables. And pulled out the Right lung
"Right lung appears blackened and seems porus. Left lung appears the
same."


2 hours later.....

"So my conclusion is that this man died of heart and lung failure, cause
unknown. All i know is that this corpse died quickly"
She sighed. This was not going to be fun to tell Mulder.

Mulder Wandered through the local police department, questioning the
investigative personnel about the case. The chief investigator 
reported that there was a strange group of people seen after the bodies
had 
been reported. A few had be brought in for questioning but all said that 
they knew nothing. The last interrogation revealed that there was a
leader 
of the group, and he had some sort to fetish with electronics. Hmm.. 
mulder thought. "Do you know where this group is usually found?" The 
detective replied, "They have been see in the local park some nights-"
"Thank 
you" Mulder quickly stated as he left to plan for his forthcoming 
stakeout.

Scully Cleaned up after the Autopsy of all the victims, each one the
same. healthy heart, burned lungs, and discovery of large level of
electrolytes found in the blood stream and fluids. She reported this 
to Mulder, hesitating knowing that his theory would be some what too
farfetched to believe. Mulder commented on the high amount of 
electrolytes and said that they could have come from antifreeze or these
corpses 
had been injected with large amounts of Gatorade. Mulder then remarked 
about what the recent visit to the Police had uncovered. And how he 
would

stake the night out in the park to find the habits and activities of the
strange group. Scully exhausted from the multiple autopsies, and with 
the

drive back to Baltimore, she said that she would stay at the hotel.
Mulder said that 
he might need her help later. Scully said her farewells and left for the
hotel. Mulder spent a visit to the near by electronics supply store 
on a hunch. Mulder arriving at the city's Radio shack was greeted by a
young 
fellow with black and white punk hair, with multiple piercings in both
ears. 
The earrings looked very similar to capacitors and conductors. "Nice 
earrings, your own creation?" observed Mulder. The employee ignored the
comment 
rolling his eyes, and asked if there was anything that Mulder needed.
Mulder quickly said that he needed a Y headphone jack, for his Sony
discman. The clerk walked 
over to a aisle and got the item and returned and asked if that was all.
Mulder said yes and purchased the jack. started to leave. As the Clerk
turned to walk into the back store room Mulder noticed two open
unbleeding sores in the clerks neck. Mulder asked what happened, and 
the clerk put his hand up to his neck and said oh those i got those a 
week ago its a new fad going around, Body art. 
"Oh, ok I will be on my way then." Mulder replied as he left the store.

Scully drove back to the hotel, and could barely keep her eyes open. She 
planned on having a nice, hot shower then going to bed. As she pulled up 
to the hotel however, she couldn't help noticing the red and blue 
flashing lights that were waving over the parking lot. She got 
out of her car and walked over to what looked like the head of the squad 
and flashed her FBI badge. After looking at it carefully, then studying
Scully's face, he gave her back her badge and stuck his hand out for a 
greeting. " My name is Sheriff Hartwell, I'm here investigating an
electrocution call. Apparently, this here woman, I believe her name was
Luciulia Kanda, died of an electrical shock..." He wasn't allowed to
finish his sentence, however, because 
a  young looking man came over to the sheriff and said," Sheriff, the 
Medics just arrived... Do you want to speak with them?" The sheriff 
nodded, then waved for Scully to follow. She sighed, and 
followed reluctantly behind the sheriff toward the ambulance. She rode
with the corpse and the medics to the local morgue where she did yet
another autopsy to make sure that her instincts were correct. the young
woman died just like the 
rest of the victims. Scully pulled out her cell phone and dialed the 
Sheriff's number to tell her findings, then was surprised to hear that 
the electricity had been shut down for 3 months in this woman's 
apartment...

Mulder parked a hundred feet from the park. He afterwards walked 
slowly
and quietly toward the nearest parked car and crouched behind it. The
streets were quiet except for an occasional car every thing was 
still. Crouching with his flashlight, binoculars, and other observation 
gear, Mulder approached the nearest tree and waited looked around. 
Searching for a sign of life of some sort. To the north about two 
hundred
feet 
a small flickering fire burned in one of the parks grills. Black 
figures moved around near the illumination, some were crouched some
standing.
Suddenly one stood on a picnic table near the rest, it was gesturing 
with its arms and looked as if it was speaking. Mulder decided to move 
closer. He noticed there was a trash receptacle about 75 feet away,
moving 
slowly behind trees and bushes he eventually made it hopefully unnoticed
to 
the garbage can. Mulder thought it smelled awful, it smelled like 
rotting
burger king and beer. Ignoring the smell Mulder used the can as a 
blind and spied upon the group. He could barely hear the speaker. 
Pulling

out a listening device Mulder sat quietly hearing their words. The one 
on

the table talked intensely about a failure of some sort, and how 
somebody
was
going to pay the price for it. The speaker signaled to some others, and 
a woman, gagged and tied was brought forward. Muffled sounds came from 
the victims mouth, she was brought forth to the main speaker, and was 
forced to stand by securing her to a near by tree. The leader of the
group 
after saying. "She shall pay for her failure on her mission." The group
all
stood in a circle with one hand on each others head, the leader 
standing facing out of the circle, also having a hand upon each 
shoulder,

brought his hands forward and facing the soon-to-be-victim. Mulder
studying 
all this from a distance takes all this in.  He observes that each 
member
of the group has a motherboard attached by bits of cable to their backs,
and a modem connected from the mother board by wires to their right
armpits. Quickly as if they were one machine, the whole group extracts a
wire from the back of each of their left hands, and surely attaches it 
to
the modem of the person in front of them. The leader wearing no
noticeable apparatus, or computer hardware is connected to the group 
from
the back of his neck by cables from the two touching his shoulders.
Mulder recognizing the leader from the radio shack store, watches as the
group behind the leader all 
suddenly lurch forward, as if all were being shocked. The leader 
standing
with 
his arms extended and palms facing the victim seems to be charged with
energy. Mulder breaking free from the reality of the unusual situation
jumps from his smelly blind and runs toward the group leader shouting,
with his gun drawn, "Freeze FBI!" The group, and group leader seem
oblivious to his cries as Blue Lightning crackles across the Leader's
arms, and strikes the victim in two evenly spaced points on her chest.
She lurches against her bonds from the force coursing through her body.
Mulder yells again, "Freeze FBI, Stop what you are doing and get down."
The
leader and group still oblivous to his threats continue the procedure,
electricity jumps across the womans body causing it to seizure. Mulder
aims for the leader with his weapon and pulls the trigger, the unfazed 
by
the lead intrusions continues.
Mulder realizing that his attempts are useless approaches the group
cautiously.  A blue glow encompasses the human chain battery,it 
continues
to
intensify and grow increasingly hot. Suddenly a rush of heat and air 
push
past Mulder toward the group and rebounds back as white encompasses the
surrounding park and blinds Mulder. Another burst of heat and moving 
wind

burst flows from the group, knocking Mulder off his feet and on the
ground. Just before going unconsious Mulder vaguely remembers the group
surrounding him and then 
blackness.


Mulder blinked his eyes, trying to rid the white haze that seemed to 
envelop him....he heard a voice.... a familiar voice....saying:

"Nurse...Nurse!!! he's waking up!! Come here!

"scu....Scu.....Scully???" he willed his mouth to form the words but 
they refused. His partner turned her head and stroked his cheek. saying: 
"shhhhhhhh........Mulder, It's O.k. you just had a slight concussion. 
You'll be O.K....Shhhhhhhhh. Don't try to talk."  


Couple weeks later...


"And that's the way it happened from start to finish?? Nothing's 
different??" Skinner asked

Both of the agents nodded their heads.
