Still have writers block :(
Life is not fair. I've been working on this one
for a while, but it has a story behind it. I was
sitting at the Homecoming dance (*sittitng*, not
dancing) and I thought, "wouldn't a terrorist
takeover be nice?" This shows the status of *my*
social life. For the last 2 hours of the dance
I worked out a rough plot on napkins, and by the
time it was over, I had this story. Enjoy!

Homecoming Part 1

Friday Night
8:32pm

It was a typical night at a high-school home-
coming dance. At one of the many tables, two teenage
girls sat chatting instead of dancing. The music was
loud and the crowd was large, and everyone was having
a great time. The next minute, a small power surge
dimmed the music momentarily, but before anybody really
took notice, it was over and done with. Everyone went
back to the party, except for two people. Both of them
looked up at the lights.

	"Something's wrong," Melody said.

"C'mon," replied Jackie. "Let's go check it out."

The girls got up and left the dance, heading toward the
cafeteria where the refreshments were kept. On the way
down the deserted corridor, they saw two adults slumped
down on the floor, their faces hidden. Melody and Jackie
crouched down and raised the heads of the two unconcious
adults. At the sight of the faces they gasped and turned
to each other.

"You have *got* to be kidding me," Melody exclaimed
	 in disbelief.

Melody and Jackie looked back down at the stars of a hit TV
series, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

Homecoming
Part 2

Melody and Jackie shook the two slightly
and they began to wake up, Scully before Mulder.

	"What happened?," Scully asked, still
	 slightly dazed. "Where are we?

"You're in Maryland, at the FHS Homecoming
Dance, Ms. Anderson." Jackie replied with
	 some confusion.

"Who?" Scully asked. "You must be mistaken.
I'm Dana Scully with the FBI."

Melody smiled slightly and addressed 'Mulder'.
"And I suppose you're Fox Mulder, Mr. Duchovney?"

"How did you know that?," Mulder asked
suspiciously. "And who is 'Mr. Duhovney'?

"This is *great*, Jackie! They even act confused."

"I know, Mel. These guys are great impersonaters."

"Is that who you think we are," Scully demanded.

Jackie, who now looked a bit goosed, spoke to Mel.
"Ummmm.....Mel? Can I see you over by the
	 lockers for a sec?"

"Yeah, sure," said Mel, who was more than a little
	 confused.

The two girls got up and walked across the hall.

"Mel," Jackie whispered quitckly. "I think we
have an honest-to-god X-File here." Jackie
glanced over at the two adults, who were helping
each other up. "You remember the other day when
we were discussing the possibility of parallel
realities? And how sometimes something happens
	 and they overlap?"

"Yeah," Melody said. "Now hold on just a damn
minute! You're suggesting that these people
actually *are* Mulder and Scully, and that they're
stuck in *this* reality for some reason!?!?!

"Yes," said Jackie calmly. "That's what I think."

Melody shrugged. "Ok, cool. So what are we gonna
	do with them?"

"You mean aside from the stuff we *want* to do
with Mulder," Jackie said with a sly smile.

"Of course, you perv," Melody grinned. "Not that
	 I'm not worse than you."

Jackie grinned with Mel, but then became serious.
"The best thing to do would be to take them back
to your house, I think. Especially since your
parents and the kids are out of town for two weeks.
	 Do you have your keys?"

"You're right," Mel agreed. "Yeah, I've got them
in this god-awful purse. I'll stay here and help
them get oriented with their situation while you
go tell Nat and Kevin that we're leaving. Have
them call us if anything else happens."

"Ok," Jackie said. "Be right back."

Jackie began walking back to the dance, while Mel turned
to Mulder and Scully.

	"I don't believe we've been properly introduced,"
Melody began. "My name is Melody Parker, and my
associate is Jackie Wagner. She'll be back
	 momentarily. You, I already know."

Melody surprised Mulder by offering him her hand. She
surprised him further by the strength of her grip. Melody
continued shaking his hand, which he had to admit, was
beginning to hurt.

"Ummm...you can let go now!" Mulder said as he was
	 left shaking his hand.

"How do you know who we are?" Scully questioned. "I
don't recall ever meeting you or your friend."

"You wouldn't," Mel replied. "Here's what I think
happened. In the world, my friend and I believe
that parallel realities exist. You existed in a
reality where you worked in the X-Files division
	 of the FBI."

"Wait a minute," Mulder protested. "Are you trying
to tell me that we're something *else* here?!"

"Ummm....you could say that," Melody replied.

"Lets assume for a second that I actually believe
you," Scully said. "*What*, praytell, are we?"

Melody sighed. "The stars of a cult hit TV show
called the X-Files that comes on Friday nights at 9pm."

"You're kidding," Mulder said in a disbelieving tone.

"Nope," Melody said. "You guys can even watch it if
Jackie gets back here within the next century. It's
	 on in about 15 minutes."

"Where are we going?" asked Scully.

"My house," Mel said. "The family's out of town for
the next two weeks, and if anyone saw you two there
	 would be a mob scene."

"We're *that* popular?!" Scully said with disbelief.

"More so," Melody confirmed. "Your autographs, or at
least those of your counterparts, are $50 each."

Jackie, who had come up behind them, now spoke. "Not
that it stopped us from getting copies."

Jackie reached out to shake hands with Mulder and Scully, who
were again surprised at the strengthof the teen's grip.

"Hi, I'm Jackie Wagner," she said. "I assume that
Mel explained the situation to you?"

"Sort of," Mulder said. "But we still have a few
	 questions."

"We'll do our best to answer them," Mel said, "But
first can we blow this pop-stand and go someplace
	 safer?"

"Lead on, MacDuff," Mulder said whimsically.

Melody and Jackie both rolled their eyes and sighed.

"It's *LAY* on, MacDuff, tonto," Mel explained in no
	 uncertain terms.

"Yeah, burrito boy, get it right," Jackie said with
	 a twinge of annoyance.

Scully hid a smile while Mulder just glared at her.

"C'mon," Mel said. "If we dont hurry, we'll miss X-Files,
and I can't remember which episode is playing tonight."

As they were going out the door, Scully, looking more
than slightly amused, asked, "Are you two big fans?"

"Naaaw," Jackie said. "We only have almost every episode
	 from 3 seasons on tape.

"Not to mention every piece of X-files parafanalia out."
	 Melody added.

"You're forgetting something Mel," Jackie reminded her.

"Oh yeah," Mel said. "Every piece of Fanfic ever written."

	"Fanfic?" Mulder asked.

"Yup." Jackie replied. "There's a creative writing group
on the Internet dedicated to the X-Files. You know: Fan-
	 Fiction."

"Let me guess," Scully said in a wry tone of voice. "You
	 two are writers as well?"

"That's right." said Jackie. "We've been writing since
the show began, but it took us 2 years to figure out how
	 to post."

"I think I might have to take a look at that group," said
	 Mulder thoughtfully.

"Ummm...," Mel said hesitantly. "I'm not so sure that's a
	 good idea."

"Why not?," said Scully, with a puzzled look on her face.

"Let's just say that some of the stories are a little....
...creative," Jackie said by way of a vague explaination.

"Well," Mulder began, "I can understand that, but....."

Melody cut him off with her blunt explaination. "Some people
write smut, Mulder, OK? There's a *ton* of people out there
who want to see a "Mulder/Scully Relationship" thing get
started. Old C.C. wont stand for it, though."

"Who's "C.C." and how can I get in touch with him to thank
	 him," Scully asked quickly.

Mulder gave Scully his best puppy-dog face.

Jackie smiled. "Chris Carter. He's the Executive Producer
of the show. As to getting in touch with him, as far as we
can tell, you can't. We've tried."

Mulder gave them a questioning look. "How come?"

"We want to write for him. Just a little fantasy of ours."
Mel said wistfully. "Anyhow, here we are; Home Sweet Home,
	 or whatever."
