Author Notes: This is my VERY first story. I couldn't help myself.
After seeing Small Potatoes, lots of little ideas kept popping into
my head. I just wrote this in like an hour so don't be too hard on
me. I've been kinda scared in writing these stories. Kinda intimidated

They both drove back to their basement office. Once there Dana Scully
went directly to her desk and started flipping through some folders.
Fox Mulder stood there for a while and observed how she was. He had
a lot of things to say to her, but he was just too afraid. /Afraid of
what?/ Rejection, dammit. He had the fears of every man. Rejection was
plain and simple. One word could break a man's heart. The word "No"
was a powerful word. It was the most feared word in a man's vocabulary.
That was what Fox was thinking. What would happen if she rejected him.
They wouldn't be able to work together again. How could a relationship
work if one partner was drooling all over the other.

Dana took her eyes off the folder that she was observing. She too had
some things she constantly thought about. She absently observed how he
took off his coat and hung it on the hanger. He slowly walked over to
his desk and took off his jacket to put on the back of his chair. He
took a folder and put on his glasses. The glasses that made him oh so
much better. Most people would have looked like dorks when they put on
glasses. But glasses on Mulder just made him look better. Mulder leaned
back on his chair and put his feet up on the desk all in one slow
motion. She saw how he was biting his lower lips studying the folder.
He looked so cute.

She'd been doing this a lot lately. Taking long looks at him. Mulder
knew that since that month ago when he crashed through her door stopping
her from kissing Eddie, she had changed. He could feel her eyes on him
every single day. He couldn't stand it any longer.

Before she had a chance to turn away, Fox looked up. She tried to turn
away and pretend she was still studying the next case.

"What's wrong Scully, you've been staring at me like that for the last
month or so."

"I wasn't staring at you, Mulder."

"Is it about that last case?"

"No."

"Don't you trust me Scully."

"Of course I do."

"I think it's time for that little talk I've been meaning to have with
you."

"We don't have anything to talk about."

Fox threw his folder on the desk in anger. She looked at him with wide
eyes. She had never really seen him this angry with her.

Fox took a deep breath and started counting to five. "I'm sorry Scully,
you've just been like this for months now and I can't do a thing about
it."

"That's ok, just forget about it."

They continued their work silently. Around 4:00pm, Fox looked up and
called to Dana in a hushed voice, "Scully."

Dana looked up and just gave a little murmer of acknowledgement.

"I was just thinking about that night."

"Which night?"

"You know what I'm talking about. I was wondering if you really thought
that Eddie was me?"

"Of course I thought it was you. He looked like you and talked like
you. Of course his mannerism was a lot different. I thought it was
just that blow to the head."

"And when I... I mean Eddie was about to kiss you, did you still think
it was me?"

She looked at him shyly and shook her head.

Fox slowly got up from his chair and walked slowly towards Scully. He
kneeled down if front of Dana so that they were facing each other. He
got so close to her that she was holding her breath.

"Have you ever thought about kissing me Scully?"

"Of course not, you're my partner!"

"Do you know if I ever think about it?"

"Do you?"

"I think about it constantly."

Slowly Fox brought his hands to her waist and brought his mouth ever so
slowly to barely make contact with her own. Dana was holding her breath
at this point.

"Breath Scully, breath. Am I really that horrible?"

"Of course not. I just don't think this is a good idea."

"You talk too much Scully."

He finally brought his mough in contact with hers. His kiss was a warm,
probing caress that grew around her, enveloping her sensees. His lips
moved on hers, forcing a dampening, electric contact that denied any
attempt at retreat on her part. The only thing that Dana could think of
were fireworks. She couldn't think about anything else except this man
in front of her kissing her. When Mulder moved to kiss her cheeks and
neck, she could barely breathe out a sigh.

"Do you think this is a good idea?"

"No but this is the way it should be."

Dana then put her arms around his necks to hold him closer. He put his
arms fully around her waist and and rested his head on her shoulder.

"Mulder, I don't know what to say."

"Don't say anything. Just stay here with me. I just wish I could stay
here with you like this forever."

"Mulder, I'm seeing a whole new side of you."

"Do you like it?"

"Yes."

He finally released her and stood up pulling her to her feet. "Do you
think I could come over tonight? We could watch a movie or something."

"I think I'd like that."

"I'll see you tonight then. Movies and pizza. You choose the movie and
I'll bring the food." He gave her a quick kiss and took his coat and
jacket and left.

Dana Scully was still standing there stunned. What had just happened
to her. Everything was like a blur. She could still feel the softness
of his lips caressing her own. Mindlessly she gathered up her belongings
and decided to go home.

The thought of him coming over was nothing new to her. Sure he had come
over countless times before. But those times were just about cases and
to just have some friendly time together. After what had happened in the
office that afternoon was surely going to make tonight a little different
than usual. She got home and showered. She had decided on black jeans
and a t-shirt. She tried sitting down to wait for him but the fact was
that she was nervous. Very nervous. She got up and started rearranging
this and that.

The knock on the door startled her. Her heart skipped a beat at that
moment. Slowly she walked to the door.

"Who is it?" She asked.

"It's another Mulder clone and I'm here to ravish that body of yours,"
came the reply.

She opened the door and saw Fox with his black turtleneck sweater and
leather jacket. His black jeans hugged him in all the right places. He
was holding a bottle of wine in one hand while balancing a box of pizza
on the other. Damn, Fox Mulder was one VERY good looking man.

"You know that flies can make a home in your mouth if you're not careful."

She wasn't aware that she was standing there with her mouth on the floor.
He came in and gave her a quick kiss on her nose. She quickly turned red
and stood aside holding the door while he came in. He set the wine and
pizza on the table while taking off his jacket. He settled on her couch
like he owned the place.

"Well this is deja vu all over again."

"Oh that."

"Well, I'll open the wine. You just get the movie ready."

"Which movie did you choose?"

"The American President."

"Why am I not surprised." He gave a little laugh.

"And what's wrong with my choice in movies!?"

"Nothing's wrong, I just had a feeling this was your kind of movie."

"Well if you don't like it you can just go home," she said with a laugh.

"But then I won't be able to have that goodnight kiss later."

She was glad that he didn't see her blush. She popped open the wine bottle
and poured each of them a glass. They both settled on the couch. Fox had
his arms around her while her head was settled on his shoulder. He absently
twirled her hair around his finger. They sat like that through the entire
movie, finishing their pizza and wine.

When the movie was finally over, Fox looked over at Dana and found that
she was asleep. He didn't really want to leave her on her own couch. He
took care in slowly picking her up and headed to her bedroom.

"Whaa... Is the movie over already," she said drowsily.

"Shhh, don't worry, I'll be her for you."

He laid her down on the bed and went over to her dresser to pick out
her pajamas.

"Dana, change into your pajamas and I'll tuck you in later."

Groggily, Dana Scully actually managed to change into her pajamas. Fox
came back in and tucked the blankets around her. But when he was about
to leave, he heard Dana's muffled sound.

"Fox, can you stay with me."

When she called his first name in that voice of hers, how was he suppose
to refuse. He turned back picked up the covers and slipped in next to
Dana. She snuggled in next to him instinctively. Fox put his arms around
her. That last thing he heard before he fell asleep was Dana's sweet voice.

"Hot potatoes..."
