Author's Notes: This is definately shipper, so if you don't like that kind of thing, turn back now. I was watching an old X-Files ep, and I though about how often Mulder watches Scully sleep, and vice versa. So, I thought it would be kinda nifty to explor e the Mulder psyche a little. You know how I love messing with po\eoples heads! Thanks to: Aerosmith for writing this awesome song. All my philer friends, especially Meryl, Molly, and Amanda. Vince, for loving this song, and Jarrod, for being my constant source of inspiration. I love you. I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing by: Tumn. (Autumn Joelle) he thought to himself. They were in Mulder's apartment, and they had just finished going over case files. Scully had looked really tired, but she pushed on untill she finally fell asleep with her head in Mulder's lap. M ulder looked donwn at her and smiled. He thought he should get up and go to bed himself, but he didn't want to disturb Scully. He reached for the radio remote and turned on a local station. A song was ending, and a new song was starting. mulder recognised the song as the new Aerosmith song from Armegeddon. The slow, dramatic melody filled the room and Mulder thought about the words. Not like Mulder hadn't watched Scully sleep. It was one of his favorite passtimes. It was also the only time he saw Scully relaxed. With Scully's cancer ever-present, Mulder didn't want to let one moment slip by. Every moment he spent with her could be his last. He didn't want to waste it. Mulder didn't want to fall asleep. He wanted to watch her relaxed. He wanted to have a chance to look at this beautiful woman in his arms. He knew that the song was right. Even his best dreams couldn't compare to this moment. Mulder knew that Scully didn't dream of him. He loved her with all his heart, but he didn't think she returned his feelings. She was a professional all the way. And his feelings were DEFINATELY unprofessional. Even as he though about the few times they ha d been close, he realized that they were only in bad moments. He could never just hug Scully. It just wouldn't be right. Mulder bent down and gently placed a kiss on each of her eyelids. He sliently wished that she was having good dreams. Not her normal nightmares. Forever and ever. That's how long he would love her. No matter how she felt, he would still love her. Mulder looked down at her sleeping form and began to sing the words to her. "God Scully, if you only knew how much I loved you," he whispered to her sleeping form. Mulder sighed as the song came to a close, the gentle music drifting off. He reached for the controler and shut off the radio. he told himself. He carefully lifted Scully's head off of his lap and slid out from underneath her. She reached out and held onto his hand. "I know Mulder. And I love you just as much." Scully brought his hand to her lips and gently kissed his palm. She smiled up at him, blue eyes shining. "Now, come back down here. You have a comfy lap." Mulder sat back down, and Scully flopped her head back in his lap. "How long have you been awake?" he asked. "Long enough," came her reply. Mulder leaned over and gently kissed her forehead. "Goodnight." ALL DONE. BYE BYE. M: "Scully?" S: "Yeah?" M: "Marry me." S: "I was looking for something a little more helpful." -Chinga S: "...The very idea of intelligent alien life is not only astronomically improbable, but at it's most basic level downright anti-Darwinian." M: "Scully. . . what are you wearing?" -War of the Copropages M: "If it's no bother-if it's not too big a deal-maybe you could get me a few photographs of the thing which bears absolutely no resemblance to a horned beast." S: "Sure. Fine. (Snaps on a latex glove.) Whatever. -Syzygy S: "Those are the most paranoid people I have ever met. I don't know how you could think that what they say is even remotely plausible." M: "I think it's remotely plausible that someone might think you're hot." -E.B.E.
