I Spy (1/1) by Diadem

   "Alpha Centauri?"
   "Nope."
   "A different Alpha star?"
   "No."
   "Aardvark?"
   "Mulder, do you see any aardvarks around here?"
   "Eyelid."
   "'Eyelid' begins with an 'E,' Mulder."
   "I know that.  I was trying to see if it actually gets 
any darker when I close my eyes."
   "Does it?"
   "Nope."
   "Oh."
   "I give up.  What was it?"
   "Ashes."
   "Of the fire?"
   "Yep."
   "Scully!  No fair!  First of all there wasn't a fire..."
   "There was too!"
   "...and second it's too damned dark to even see my own 
feet, let alone a pile of logs..."
   "Fire."
   "...OK, fire, ten yards away."
   "Well it was your idea to play."
   "Only because you wouldn't sing any more."
   "Mulder, I sang 'Joy to the World,' 'Dancing Queen' and 
'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!'  What more could you 
possibly want??"
   "A sleeping bag?"
   "What?"
   "Doesn't matter.  Should we play something else?"
   "Such as?"
   "I don't know.  Guess the mutant?"
   "I think not.  How's your shoulder?"
   "Hurts."
   "I know.  I'm sorry."
   "Why are you sorry?  It's not your fault."
   "Yeah.  I just don't like to see you hurting."
   "Scully?"
   "Yeah?"
   "I think I might be able to lie down properly now."
   "Is that a good thing?"
   "It's a good thing for your chiropractor."
   "OK.  Do you need a hand?"
   "I think I'm OK.  Are you going to lie down too?"
   "All right.  Mulder!  I'll only lie down if you promise 
not to do that again!"
   "It's dark!  I can't see where my hands are!"
   "Yeah, right."
   "Honest!  Just lie down.  You comfy?"
   "As comfy as I can be on a forest floor out in the middle 
of nowhere.  You?"
   "Same.  Cold."
   "Come here."
   "What... Oooh, Scully!"
   "Mulder, I'm zipping our jackets together, OK?  You 
said you were cold, so..."
   "I spy, with my little eye..."
   "Mulder!  Don't you dare!  There, is that better?"
   "Scully?"
   "Yeah?"
   "This is better than 'I Spy.'"
   "Good.  Try to go to sleep."
   "I will.  But I'm still holding out for that sleeping 
bag.  Ouch."
