therapist told me:  "I do not own Mulder and/or Scully and/or any
other character of the X-Files. They belong to 1013 production,
 Chris Carter, and Fox"....um, yea. 
Summary: He's there to watch out for them, to protect them. And to
keep them in line.

It's been nearly 7 years that I've had this job, 
I watch over them as a hawk does it's prey, 
They are never far from my eye, 
Never completely where I can not see them, 
I know thier every move, 
I have to, 
It's my job. 
If they get out of line in any way, 
I must do whatever it takes to interviene, 
Because if they get too close to one another, 
She will be killed, 
That's the way it's been since the beginning, 
Of course, I cannot tell them this is the reason I am thier boss, 
The ever-watchfull eye of thier Assistant Director, 
I know they don't understand why I can be so strict, 
I can also be very lenient with them, 
Letting them get away with things I won't let others get away with, 
But I can't let "Them" know what I let these two agents get away with,
Everytime I do, I know I run the risk of getting her killed, 
They watch over me, as I do her and him, 
And if I make one wrong move, 
Agent Scully's cancer will be returned, 
This time no cure will be found or met, 
Her life will be cut short. 
"They" can't know that I know how close my two agent's are, 
And so I must do everything I can to make it seem as though they are
just that:  "Friends", 
I may be harsh at times, it is the marine in me, 
I may seem cold and uncaring, 
But it is something I must do in order to keep things under wraps, 
Safe, 
Protected, 
She must remain safe, 
And I, will do whatever it takes to ensure that safety. 
I've already given up on splitting the two, 
They just find one another anyways, 
And so I must continually watch them like a hawk, 
For "They" are watching Mulder and Scully like lab rats, 
Agent Mulder would be destroyed if anything ever happened to her, 
He wouldn't be the only one. 
So yes, I will protect them, 
To whatever extent, 
To the ends of the earth, 
They are under my guard, 
And I will continue to be thier guide. 
I stand alone in this quest, 
Silenced by powers much crueler and more powerfull than I, 
I feel like a voyeur, 
Only I do this to reassure that they are alive and well, 
I stand alone with these two agents, 
Because they are like my children, 
And I will protect them till the day that I die. 
I stand alone.
