IF I DIE...

Dana Scully's hospital room
Washington DC
November 1997

Dear Mulder,
I am sitting here in my hospital room after I heard
the news. You found the chip which probably cured
my cancer for that I am truly grateful. I have
some good news to tell you... I know that you will
be here soon, but I have to tell you now. I am in
remission. Yes, you had heard right. I am going to
live for a long, long time.

The thing is what had worried me was how would have
my death affected you. I know how my death would have
affected my family. That's a no brainer. But you...
What would your reaction be if I had died?

I know how much you care for me, Mulder. I had seen
the warmth in your hazel eyes. The way you kissed my
hand...the way you touched with your touch. I feel
the same way about you. I don't care what Melissa
Ephresian had said that you are her soulmate. This
lifetime, you are my soulmate as I know I am yours.
I love you, Mulder. I had loved you ever since the
first day in your...our office...when you thought that
I had come to spy on you.

If I had died, you would have grieved for me like you
lost half your heart. I felt the same for you when
you almost died in Alaska. I don't know what I would
had done if you had died. I would have lost my heart
in the process.

I guess that we are both lucky to have one another.

Yours,

Dana Scully
