Oh, and this is story number 5 in my Music series, you don't have to read any of the other stories because it stands completely on is own, the series isn't even in any sort of order but please read them! I don't have Newsgroup access) Title: Music5- If you asked me to Author: Katilina He was completely drenched in oil and could barely feel Scully's small body trying to support him. She had led him about 50 feet from where he was previously laying when there was a second explosion. They were both thrown to the ground, Mulder falling on top of Scully while he tried to shield her. After a few seconds he rolled off of her. "Are you O.K.?" he asked worriedly. "Mulder, I'm fine. Are you O.K.?" she asked just as worriedly as they gazed into each other's eyes. "I'm doin' O.K." he said casually he gaze never leaving hers. "Listen! I think I hear the helicopter coming back!" she exclaimed, breaking his powerful gaze. he sighed wearily as he gingerly stood up. He held out his hand to help her up. As soon as she put weight on her left leg she cried out in pain and fell back down to the ground. "Scully!" he exclaimed falling to his knees by her side. "Dammit! I think I must have broken it!" she said, her voice lace in pain. Mulder looked over to where the helicopter was landing about 50 yards away. He gently scooped her into his arms and carried her over to the helicopter, trying to be as careful as possible not to injure her leg any more. The pilot saw that Scully was obviously hurt ran over and opened the door. "WHAT HAPPENED?" he yelled over the loud whirring of the helicopter blades. "SHE THINKS SHE BROKE HER LEG! WE HAVE TO TAKE HER TO THE HOSPITAL!" Mulder yelled back as he set her down in the copter and propped up her leg. He then jumped inside and fastened his seatbelt as the pilot ran back around to the cockpit of the copter. "It will be about a 40 minute ride. There is some pain medication in the first aid box, you can take some of that," the pilot said as he took off. Mulder reached in back and opened up the first aid box and grabbed the two little pills. He handed them to Scully who quickly downed the pills and five minutes later was asleep. He donned the earphones and immediately heard the voice of Celine Dion singing a song. --Used to be that I believed in something Used to be that I believed in love Its been a long time since I've had that feeling I could love someone I could trust someone I said I'd never let nobody near my heart again darlin' I said I'd never let nobody in--- *I haven't let anyone in, except for Scully, she's the only one I trust and the only one I could ever love* he thought to himself as he listened to the song. --But if you asked me to I just might change my mind And let you in my life, forever If you asked me to I just might give my heart And stay here in your arms forever If you asked me to If you asked me to-- *I would do anything Scully ever asked, even give my own life if she needed it. I've already given my heart, all she has to do is accept it* he thought, looking over at his beautiful partner. --Somehow ever since I've been around you Can't go back to being on my own Can't help feeling darlin since I've found you That I've found my home That I'm finally home I said I'd never let nobody get too close to me darling I said I needed, needed to be free-- *That is how I feel. Whenever I'm around her I feeling completely at ease, completely comfortable, completely home. I was so alone before she was my partner, I don't think I could do that again* he thought, still looking at Scully as she shifted slightly in her seat. --(But if you asked me too...) Ask me to, I will give my world to you baby I need you now Ask me to, I'll do anything for you baby, for you baby If you asked me to I'd let you in my life forever If you asked me to...-- He sighed as he looked over at his partner feeling an intense longing just to hold her close. He pushed the feelings down inside, saving them for not a maybe but for a definitely.
