He really knows how to pick them! I know this case we just solved was taking it's toll on my partner. There had been three little girls missing. Mulder absolutely believed they were abducted by aliens. There was no proof of that, I knew there would be none. He was thinking about his sister, Samantha. Ever since Skinner handed the case to us, I could see it in his eyes. We found two of the girls around 8:30 this evening in the woods shivering and holding on to each other for dear life. They have no recollection of what happened and they didn't know where the third girl was. Mulder was determined to find her though, and he did. Unfortunately, she was dead. Most likely from exposure but I wouldn't even think of doing an autopsy on her. I had watched as Mulder knelt to the ground and whisper, "I'm sorry I didn't find you in time." I wasn't sure if he meant the little girl or Samantha. I can't sleep now, I keep thinking about him, how he's doing. I just want to go into that room and let him know that I will always be there for him no matter what happens. But, I can't go in there, not right now. He hasn't slept all week, he needs his rest. I so want to put my arms around him and tell him it'll be all right and that I will always take care of him. I want him to know how much I love him. I finally slipped under the covers and was about to turn the light off when I heard Mulder. "NO! Don't take her away, she's all I have! SAMANTHA!" I kicked the blankets off and opened the adjoining doors. Mulder was thrashing about on the bed. I ran to him and grabbed his arms. "Mulder, it's okay, it's just a dream. Come on, Mulder, wake up." Mulder dropped his arms and looked up at me. "Scully?" "Yeah, Mulder, it's me. Are you alright?" "I am now that you're here." He wrapped his arms around me. "I'll take care of you, Mulder, always." I talked to him on the phone but that's not the same as actually being with him. As I finished reading the file that I wasn't really reading, Mulder came in. He actually look rested-- and hyper. I thought he was excited about a case but instead he walked right up to me and said, "Scully, stand up." "What's up, Mulder?" He pulled me into a kiss. I was so surprised that I almost forgot to kiss him back. I did though, and it was wonderful. When we finally broke apart he spoke up again. "Scully, I love you with all my heart. As I said once before, you made me whole person and I don't know if I can ever live without you. I would do anything for you." Pulling something out of his pocket, he knelt down on one knee. I could hardly control my tears because I was so happy. "What I'm trying to say is, marry me, Scully, make me the happiest man on this entire Earth." I smiled down at him as he put the ring on my finger. "Yes, Mulder, I'll marry you." I hope he realizes he made me the happiest woman on this entire Earth. He got up and hugged me again.
