LOS ANGELES NEWS AT 5

NEWS ANCHOR: I'm Mike Flemming, and this
is the news at 5.

In today's top story, The X-Files new-comer,
Robert Patrick, was found brutally murdered early
this morning.

His body was discovered inside his trailer,
which was located on the FOX lot where the
sci-fi show is filmed.

The coroners report revealed show that the
actor died as a result of a stampede.
It was concluded that a mass of raging
X-Files fans ransacked Patrick's
trailer sometime in the early hours
of this morning.

It was reported that Patrick's body was
marked with 'X's which appeared to be
haphazardly scrawled with a black marker. Another
condition of his body was discovery sunflower seeds
spread out upon his corpse.

We talked to ex X-Files actor, David Duchovny
and this is what he had to say.

DAVID DUCHOVNY: "Son of a bitch! My dog's ass was a
better actor than him! I mean what kind of character's
last name would be Dog-sh*t?! Wait...or was
it Dog-Bert...Dog-guts? Oh! Doggett, right!"

Afterwards we also ran into the series' creator,
Chris Carter and asked him what his initial reaction
was on Patrick's death.

CHRIS CARTER: "GODDAMIT! SCRIPT! WHERE'S MY SCRIPT?!
CUT! PRINT! THAT'S A RAP!"

Everyone was seemingly upset, but we did get
a quick interview with one fan of the show
who was still busy eating...sunflower seeds,
no less.

FAN: "Great to see him gone! I didn't trust
Robert Patrick from the beginning! Nothing but
bad news I tell you, nothing but bad news.
Only Mulder and Scully! You hear me?! MULDER
OR NO ONE, FOX!"

Well, as you can tell it was quite an
evening at the FOX lot. We'll bring you
more on this story as it develops.

And now on to sports...
