12.30am christmas eve
scully's apartment
The night was cold and the snow had fallen. Scully
was sat next to her tree that stood by the window,
she watched the fluffy flakes gently fall on her
window ledge. Tommorow was christmas day, and she had
an early start. She was to be at her moms house at 6
o'clock sharp.

12.30 christmas eve
FBI bluilding

Mulder was sat at his desk going through over due
case reports. He had nothing better to do on this
special night of the year, he had nothing in the way
of family and friends, so as he sat writing up the
reports it dawned on him that he would be spending
christmas alone again.
His mind drifted to scully, he knew it wasn't her
fault and he didn't mind her having fun, but
sometimes he could'nt help hating her for having the
things he did'nt and wanted so badly.he even hated
her for not having the one thing he did. Lonleiness.

1.00am
scully's apartment

it was getting late but she could'nt get fox mulder
off her mind. She knew he had nowhere to go this
christmas. She felt slightly guilty for leaving him
alone. I thought crossed her mind. And within seconds
she had the phone in her hand. She knew he would
still be at the office. After all that was where he
always was when he had nothing to do
"mulder" came the voise on the other end.
"hey mulder. It's me."
"hey scully. Whats wrong ? are you okay?
"im fine mulder. I uh just wanted to call you. And
ask you to join me for dinner tommorow."
"um, that would benice scully, but ar'nt you at your
mothers?
"yeah and so are you if that is okay?"
"um yeah sure okay. Thnks."
"Nite mulder"
"good night scully"

mulder hung up the phone and genlty leaned back in
his chair. Maybe this christmas won't be so bad after
all, he thought.

Christmas day
Magrate scully's house

Scully walked in the front door and called out for
her mother. As maggie came rushing out of the kitchen
with her arms out streched.
" Dana honey, merry christmas" she hugged her
daugther and kissed her on the cheek. " sweetie wil
you go and set the table? I hav'nt had time to do it
yet."
"um sure. Mom? Is it okay if mulder joins us? I mean
he hasn't got anywhere eles to go and......"
"dana honey. It's fine. I'm glad you invited him." A
big smile spread across maggies face.

Later......

Bill and tara had already arrived and were sat on the
couch near the fire. Dana was sat on the floor with a
glass of wine in her hand. She absently looked at her
watch. Where the hell is he? She thought.just then
there was a knock at the door. Scully jumped to her
eet and darted to the door.
"hi. Merry christmas"she said as she looked at mulder
standing there with a bottle of wine in his had.
He gave her a small kiss on the cheek and returned
the greeting.
"come on in. dinner is almost done."
"thanks for inviting me"

once they had finished their meal, a huge desert was
placed in front of them. And although everyone was
stuffed the ate it just to br polite.
"I'll help with the washing up" mulder insisted
"oh no. there is no need." Maggie stated
"ah it's the least I can do. Mrs scully"
"I'll help" said dana getting up from her seat.
Outin the kitchen mulder dried and scully washed, he
noticed that scully looked a bit upset. So he
leaneddown to ask her if she was okay.
"im fine mulder, don't worry"
"im not worried" he said getting a little smile from
her. As they continued the dishes in scilence, bill
was sorting through the presents in the other room.
When everybody was back in the room together he
handed dana the first present " you're the youngest
sis. So you can start."
Scully took the present that was from her brother
charles and opened it.
Once everybody had opened their gifts. Mulder reached
into his jacket pocket and held out a small, neatly
wrapped parcel. "merry christmas scully"
He handed her the gift "go ahead open it." She took a
deep breath and began opening it. When the wrapper
was off she saw a small blue velvet box. Her heart
began to pound in her chest. The reat of the family
looked on with antisipation. She opened the box and
the dimonds contained reflected in her bright blue
eyes.
"well what are you going to say dana" asked her
mother.
"thankyou mulder"he smiled at her. Maggie shook her
head and blurted out " thankyou? What kind of an
answer is that?"
"well come on dana let us have a look" tara
inturpted. Scully handed her the box and tara is big
smile turned to a confused frown. "It's...there
earings? I thought ...." She looked up at mulder and
then at scully. Then smiled and handed them back. " I
thought it was a ring"she said
"so did I" scully confesed.
After scully had finnaly stopped thanking mulder for
her gift and everthing had been cleaned away. Mulder
stood and said his goodbyes. Scully walked him to the
door once again thanking him for comeing. And for the
gift he had gotten her.
"will you be going to the christmas ball new years
scully?"
"yeah sure I will."
"okay then I will see you there. Good night. Thanks
for the invitei had a lovely time."
"your welcome"

new years eve 8.oopm

mulder had been waiting there for almost an hour,
where the hell was she. She did say she was coming.
Didn't she? He scanned the croweds again looking foe
that famliers head of beautiful shinny red locks.
Then he saw her she looked sensational. Her hair was
swept up in a clip and curls framed her face she was
wearing a red off the shoulder drees with a slit on
the side.
"wow you look stunning" he said
"thankyou, you don't look to bad yourself"
"can I get you a drink?"
uh yeah thanks." She didn't intend on staying sober
for long. And she didn't.
"hey you wanna dance" mulder asked as he pulled her
up to her feet. She put down her glass and twirld
into his arms. "sure. Why not?"
as they danced scully couls smell his aftershave,
mmm that is soo nice she thought as she moved her
head closer to his chest. Mulder could smell scully's
perfume it was his favourite brand, he hadnt noticed
her wearing it before,perhaps it was new he thought.
He slowly leaned towards her and began kissing her
neck. Scully pulled away, she was drunk but not that
drunk.
"sorry,I....sorry" mulder stumbeled over his words.he
could feel his face turning a bright shade of red.
Scully smiled at him and gently took his hand in hers
and lead him through the growded dance floor.
"where are we going" he asked.
Scully put a finger to his lips to shush him. And he
obyed.
"come here you." She said stopping behind a wall out
of sight from others. She put a hand through his hair
and leaned up to kiss him. Mullet's hands found there
way around scullys body quickly.he leaned down to
deepen the kiss. Scully was so engrossed in what she
was doing that she didn't hear her cell phone
ringing.
Mulder reluctently pulled away and looked in to her
eyes and smiled.
Then scully relased that the distant sound she was
hearing was her phone.
"scully"she said in to the reciver.
"agent scully. Where are you? I cant see you anywhere
or mulder. Is everything okay?"it was skinner
"uh im at the car sir, I forgot my purse" she said
mulder lookd at her with a big smile on his face.and
leaned in to kiss her again.
