Greeting and Salutations...Hi! This is my first time writting a X-files fanfic and I don't know how well I did. I'm open to all suggestions and criticsms or bad, I'll take it all! I got this idea by listening to my Dave Matthew's Band tape. Gotta love Dave!!! A SHORT SUMMARY: I really don't want to give anything away but if I must then I must. Scully is mouring for a dear friend who happens to show up and comfort her. Samatha (Mulder's sister) shows up at the end. It's rated PG because it has one swear in it, said by Scully. Also readers beware!! This is a Mulder and Scully romance. Sorry. But no sex! DISCLAMER: All charcters belong to the brillant, wonderful, and not to mention my all-time idol-Chris Carter (the grand budda himself), his 1013 productions, and FOX Networks. I am not making any profit off this what so ever So please don't sue me for I am only a innocent cow-tipping youngin!!!! Many spanks to: Jenny, Chris, Michelle, Tabbi, Amanda, Alex, and Curtis for all your criticsms and suggestions. ~Lament For Truth~ By Jill "Bert" Luberto Agent Dana Scully laid sulking in the moonlight. She was sprawled on the her back on the couch, glaring out the window. Her swollen eyes glistened as salty tears rolled down her cheeks. She had been in that same position all day never moving, only to use the bathroom and to break the phone which she had completely ignored. Walter Skinner left message and message on her machine, each time asking if she was ok or why didn't she come down to the office and talk about Mulder and what had happened to him. To prevent blowing up at him she threw the phone across the room to release her tension and fury. She had no reason to move from that spot. There was no point. As far as she was concerned, there was no point in life either. She leaned over and looked at the clock. 11:20p.m. She sighed deeply as it clicked onto 11:21p.m. All of the sudden there was a knock on the door. "Shit." she mumbled. She stumbled over to the door and without thinking to check who it was, opened it. There stood Agent Fox Mulder smiling shyly. His chameleon eyes gazed at her. Scully backed up into her apartment and let out a small cry. "It's alright, it's just me." he said as he walked in and closed the door. "We need to talk Scully." She stood there staring at him, seeing the moonlight glide over his smooth pale cheeks and over his tall, slender figure. She found him beautiful. Especially his eyes which now were pinned on her. They were so captivating, bright, and full of wonder. He gently took Scully's hand and led her to the couch. "Scully", he whispered, "You know how much I trust you, more than anyone else and I want you to know-" "Mulder." Scully cut him off sharply. "I thought about this for a long time. I don't think I can go on now. Our work is pointless." "You can go on Scully, and I'll be there every step of the way to help you." He gripped her hand and a short chill went through her body as she noticed the coldness of his touch. "But there's nothing to believe in anymore, everything is lost."she said, her last words dying in a whisper. Mulder lifted up her chin with his finger and looked at her with such a longing in his eyes that Scully couldn't bear to see. Her heart tore every second. "Scully you can believe in the truth when you find it." "But Mulder, the truth is so farfetched that I don't think I find it." "I can't find it without you." She started crying uncontrollably then. Her body trembled and Mulder pulled her close. He felt her warm tears dampen his shirt collar and then trickle down his shoulder. He held her tightly and kissed her forehead. "Scully." he pulled her away and looked into her eyes seeing the pain and suffering she was enduring. He leaned in and kissed her. The sweetness of her lips melted his heart. She moaned softy as their lips met again and again, each kiss wonderful and passionate like the relationship that had grown between them for so long. "I love you Dana Scully." he whispered in her ear. He wiped a strand of red hair out of her eye and said with a heavy heart "I should go." Scully pleaded with him to stay. But he shook his head. "She's waiting for me." Scully looked at him quizzically . "You'll find the truth Scully, I have faith in you." He smiled and stood up letting her fingers slowly slip from his hand just as a single tear escaped from his eye. He walked then to the door, opening it, letting light from the hallway spill into the darkness. He never looked back and the door closed leaving Scully alone once again in the dark. "I love you Mulder." The next day Agent Dana Scully visited Fox Mulder's grave for the first time ever since his untimely death. Last night he came to her for a final goodbye the way he probably would want to. Mulder had brought her to her senses and back into the real world. Fox Mulder- her kind, whimsical partner, her loving best friend, her passionate ghostly lover had helped her find a reason to go on. She delicately placed the two yellow roses atop the cold stone. She pinched her lips together trying to hold back the painful tears. "I will find the truth Mulder, I know how much it means to you." She touched the grave with her hand tenderly going over it's smooth surface. "And I know now that I have your faith to keep looking, thank you." She smiled then and looked up just in time to see a small child clutch her tall, slender brother's hand and walk into the nearby woods and disappear. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "So you see LoneStarr, evil will always prevail cause being good is dumb!" -"Spaceballs" SCULLY:Did you see their eyes? If I were that stoned- MULDER:OOH! If you were that stoned what??? Gossamer Project USA http://gossamer.simplenet.com gossamer@akamail.com
