"Agent Mulder?" "Yes, Sir." "Where are you?" "Why sir?" "Is Agent Scully with you?" "No, Sir. Is something wrong with Agent Scully? Was she abducted again, Sir?" "Agent Mulder, this is very serious business we are talking here. Do you know where was Agent Scully this weekend?" "Er, Las Vegas, Sir." "Agent Mulder, was she freelancing by herself this time? How fast can you be in my office?" "Give me a break, I will call Scully and we will meet you there as soon as possible." "Agent Mulder, I will prefer to talk to you first. I received a newspaper supplement with some disturbing news about both of you." "I am on my way, Sir." As he was heading out of the LGM place, he turned back and asked. "If there something else about Scully, please feel free to tell me. That was Skinner on the phone who said that he received a newspaper supplement with disturbing news about Scully and me. Frohike, you called Scully 'party girl.' Why?" There was silence for a few seconds in the room. They looked to each other and then to Mulder. "'Party girl'. Sit down, Mulder. Skinner can wait a few more seconds." "Hey, guys. Scully told me she does not remember anything. Is she hiding something? Is she embarrassed for something she did and she does not want me to know about? The last time I spoke with her on the phone while she was in Las Vegas she said that she was going to kick your asses. Okay, shoot." "Er, er, when I helped her..." "You helped her, Langly. You were vomiting in the bathroom." "Er, when I returned she was in the floor, apparently she fainted with all the blood and..." "Langly, that's impossible. You haven't seen Scully performing an autopsy while eating fried chicken or thinking of eating the same last thing still on the stomach of the victim." "Okay. I admit it. I was a little, er, 'impressed' with the autopsy. God, that was Jimmy on the table and she cut him without blinking her eyes. Jesus!" "You found her in the floor." "I helped her and she said she was okay and, and, uh, and called me 'Cutie.'" "What?!" "I swear, Mulder. I thought the flight affected her. When I asked her about her medical opinion..." Langly stopped embarrassed for what he was going to say. "What did she say?" "Mulder, has you ever been with Scully while she performs an autopsy?" "Of course, why?" "Er, did she ever ask you how in hell she can roll the table?" Mulder opened his eyes and finally said. "Nope." "Mulder, I don't want to pick a fight here, but are you sure Scully is a certified pathologist? When I asked her medical opinion she just clapped her hands and said BEEEEEP!" "Langly, Scully is the best forensic pathologist in the region. That's impossible. I have seen her performing autopsies hundreds of times. She is the best." "Langly, let me finish the story. Mulder has a meeting with his boss. Mulder, after she left we have no idea where she was until I was in the casino with Langly and I heard her laugh across the bar." A surprised Mulder interrupted Frohike with his mouth wide open in a "O" form. "Scully? Laughing? Wait, Scully laughing in a bar? You must be kidding, Frohike?" "My, friend. No. I'm not kidding here. This is serious. Remember that we told you a few minutes ago? Scully was shot with Susanne's new invention?" "Yes. Wait. They brainwashed Scully?" "Her findings were gone. Once again, Mulder, Scully's memories were stolen. Poor, girl. I found Scully-go-lightly holding court bar!" "What?! Scully?" "Byers thought that she was drunk, but Susanne recognized it quickly. I still don't understand why these people wanted to turn Scully into a bimbo." "Frohike, are you sure that Scully does not remember that she was in a bar full of men?" "She was the party girl, Mulder. They were inviting her to the penthouse. Could you imagine what would had happened if I wasn't there at the right time?" "That's why she is so confused about what happened in Las Vegas. Explain me something, how in hell she went back to normal?" "Susanne injected her with another thing and said that it was supposed to be out of her system in her sleep. We left her alone, to give her some, er, some privacy." "Privacy? What do you mean, Frohike?" "In her sleep she was calling you, Mulder. Before she started saying or doing anything else, we were out of the room. She woke up, and changed her clothes. The rest is history, Mulder. We already told you what happened there, but I skipped the part where I called her 'party girl.' For obvious reasons, she was confused." "Can you recognized those bastards that were in the bar inviting her to the penthouse?" "Nope, but they must be federal employees. In my opinion, they knew that she was under the influence of the gas." "Okay. If she calls, please let her know that I'm with Skinner. Ah, tell her anything about the gas. See you, guys." FBI Building Washington, DC "Agent Mulder, this is very serious business." This was not the first time Mulder was alone in the office with Skinner. "Agent Mulder, after six years, I supposed that I should expect something like this from you, but not from Agent Scully." This was not the first time Mulder was alone in the office with Skinner talking about Scully. Her abduction. Her cancer. Always it was Mulder's fault. This time was different. Scully was in BIG problem while "freelancing" in Las Vegas. "Agent Scully IS, she still IS one of the best agents in the FBI. I couldn't believe what I was told, Mulder." "Sir, could you please give me a hint of what is wrong here." "Your partner, Agent Mulder... Do you remember who is Bill Scully?" "A son of a bitch... Excuse me, Sir. Yes, Bill is Scully's brother and he hates me." "I know, Mulder, and I don't blame him." "Sir?" "I received a call from Bill regarding his sister, Dana. Oh, by the way, your partner. His superior, General Thomas Smith was an old friend of Captain William Scully and his wife. General Smith wants to keep the reputation of the Scully family with the high standards set by Agent Scully's father." "Sir, I can explain..." "No, Mulder. I think you can't explain everything your partner was doing in Las Vegas. As I understand, you were not there." "No, Sir." "Do you have any idea is this is the first time that Agent Scully goes to Nevada alone?" "She has been there with me, Sir. But I don't remember Scully telling me that she has been in Las Vegas before or after that until this incident that you are not telling me, Sir." "Agent Mulder, since when Agent Scully smokes?" "What? Sir, Agent Scully does not smoke. I'm very sure of that." "Do you know who is Joanne Fletcher, Agent Mulder?" "No, Sir." "Agent Mulder... do you know if Agent Scully has a lover?" I a matter of seconds Mulder was fascinated with his shoes. 'Calm down, Mulder. This is it. That son of a bitch! What does Billy Boy thinks I'm doing with Scully? Well, we have done nothing yet, but I will like to.' He looked at Skinner and answered the question. "Sir, whatever that bastard told you about his sister and myself..." "For God sake, Agent Mulder. I'm not talking about you having an affair with Agent Scully. I'm talking about her. Does she has a lover or not?" Mulder's world collapsed. Scully? His partner having an affair with another man? Impossible. "No, Sir." "Bill sent me by courier some pictures and this newspaper supplement. Something similar to a tabloid magazine. 'Las Vegas Review' to be exact." Skinner gave Mulder an envelope. "If those pictures, Agent Mulder, end in the wrong hands, Agent Scully's career and her reputation are gone." Mulder opened the envelope. Seven black and white pictures. "Sir, I think I can explain this." "How, Agent Mulder?" "These three guys, the ones in the first picture..." "Yes, Mulder. Those are your three paranoid friends." "They explained me what really happened to Scully while she was in Las Vegas." "And..." "Sir, it was not her fault. She was exposed to a gas..." "A gas, Agent Mulder?" "I can explain it to you, Sir. Do you have any idea if Bill told something to Mrs. Scully?" "General Smith asked Bill to keep Mrs. Scully out of this matter. There is no reason for her to know what her daughter is doing in Nevada." "Sir, this does not explain or justify what you are implying. Scully does not have a lover in Las Vegas." "Agent Mulder, could you please read the front page of Las Vegas Review?" Mulder could not believe what his eyes were seeing. His beautiful partner in the front page of a gossip newspaper supplement. A color picture of Scully with a cigarette in her mouth and several flaming lighters in front of her. Jesus! How erotic she looked with the cigarette between her red hot lips. "Las Vegas Review, Special Edition, July 13, 1999." He continued reading the caption below Scully's picture, "Las Vegas, Nevada - Hotel walls heated up with an FBI agent attending a recent convention. Is this Monica's new version at the Hoover Building?" There was a second picture. He read the caption to himself, of course, he was in the picture with Scully. 'Special Agents Dana K. Scully and *Fox* W. Mulder of the FBI. Our source told us that they were involved in a love affair. FBI Case No. 1013.' Unbelievable. "Agent Mulder, could you please continue?" "Las Vegas, Nevada - As reported a few months ago, we have confirmed and obtained a photo of the FBI Agent who attended a Federal Contractors Convention here in Las Vegas. "Our source told us that in fact, this is an FBI Agent from the main office in Washington, and a certified pathologist. Incredible! She was seen with a hoard of men in a bar in the hotel where the convention took place. As a proof, our source sent us a photo. "Apparently, there was an old man with this woman and identified her as Special Agent Scully from the FBI. We investigated her and found that her complete name is Dana Katherine Scully, lives in Georgetown and works with Agent Fox Mulder in the X Files Division. Could this be Washington's new Monica? "According to our source, these two agents investigate mysterious cases dealing with the paranormal. "Spooky" is the word that he used to describe their work. "They have been associated with abductions and aliens encounters." "As we reported several months ago, Agent Scully was involved in a love affair in Nevada with Mr. Morris Fletcher. Our source spoke with Mrs. Joanne Fletcher and she was very affected at the moment. She told our source that his husband started behaving weird after meeting the FBI agent. 'One morning he woke up calling her. A few minutes later, he was dancing in his underwear in front of the mirror in our bedroom. He even forgot the names of our children. That bitch appeared on the footsteps of my house asking for my husband. I tried to make him forget about her. But, hell no. While we were in the Little A'Le Inn Bar, he went to the parking and there she was waiting for him in her car. Next day, this pervert returned to my home asking for him. She is a home wrecker!' "This is better than we though. We will keep you posted on any development of their love affair. DF, Reporter." FIN
