Subject: This is my view of how the series would end. Just another 
possibility but it won't happen because they are going to make another movie, 
but it's good anyway.

Loss of Something That Never Was

    It was a regular day of work. When Scully came in at 8:00, Mulder was
at his desk reading the newspaper."Mornin Mulder." "Hey Scully.Your in
early today." "Why? You don't want me here." Mulder gave Scully a look as
if to tell her to shut up. She pulled a chair over to the front of his
desk, sat down and took a bagel and orange juice out of a brown paper
bag."Umm...Excuse me Scully.Did the idea ever enter into your head to
bring something for you tall handsome partner?" There was a long pause of
silence "Oh.I'm sorry.Is that tall handsome partner supposed to be you?
Actually yeah. I did bring something for you." She reached in the bag and
pulled out a tiny bag of Alien Fruit Snacks."Here.I brought these for
you." "Ha. Your very funny." He jumped over the desk and grabbed half of
her bagel. He took a bite and spit it back out. "Eww.Gross." "Oh. Sorry
Mulder,did I forget to mention that it's fat free cream cheese?" He sat
back down at his desk and opened the pack of fruit snacks and finished
reading the newspaper.Scully started coughing."Scully,you OK?" "Yeah I'm
fine. I think I swallowed crooked." He went back to reading the newspaper,
but Scully stopped eating her bagel. She started coughing again. Mulder
looked up at her. She lowered her head to the desk and when she lifted it
up there was blood all over the desk. She was coughing up blood. She held
her hand to the bottom of her chin to catch the blood."Mulder.Whats
happening?" "Scully.Just stay right there.I am going to see if anyone else
is in the building." As he was walking he thought to himself. <No one else
is going to be in this building at this early in the morning> He walked
back down to Scully. She was trying to get out of the chair. He ran over
to her and grabbed her. "Hey.Sit down.I'll get you some tissues then I am
taking you to the hospital." He ran over and took a box of tissues out of
his desk and handed them to Scully. She wiped the blood off of her chin
and covered her mouth with them when she coughed up more blood. She didn't
know it but he could see the tears in her eyes. She didn't know what was
happening and neither did he. He held her by the waist and walked her out
of the building and to the car. She got in the front seat and reclined the
chair back. He drove to the hospital and went through to the Emergency
Room. In a few minutes she was checked in and Mulder was told to stay in
the waiting room. Mulder knew what he was thinking about but he didn't
want to believe it, and he knew Scully was thinking the same thing too.
When the doctor finally told him he could go in he decided to ask Scully
about that one topic that hasn't been brought up in years. He walked in
the room to see her just laying in bed. ( a scene we have seen one too
many times) Except this time she has no tubes connected to her. "Hey."
"Hi.They just took some tests.Thats it." "Scully, could I ask you a
question?" "Sure.Anything." "Do you think...Umm..That the cancer is back?"
Scully turned her face in the opposite direction of Mulder. He saw her
wipe a tear from her eye. "Scully.I'm sorry.I didn't mean to..." "Yeah I
do think that, but I try not to believe it." The doctor walked in and
motioned for Mulder to step out into the hallway. Giving Scully a kiss on
her hand he left the room and walked into the hallway. "Mr. Mulder, we
have done some tests and we are not quite sure what we are looking at. We
need to do surgery. Is that a problem?" "No, of course not. Do whatever
you have to." "We will. The surgery could be done in a half an hour."
"Ok.I'll tell her." He walked in the room and went to bed side and told
her everything the doctor had told him. She got very teary eyed because
she was almost positive she knew what the outcome was. 

A half an hour later

    Scully was still in the same bed except she was in Recovery now.
Mulder went in to visit her and they talked for about an hour, then the
doctor came in. "Umm..Ms.Scully and Mr.Mulder could I speak to you for a
minute?" "Sure." "Well...we opened you to see exactly what we were looking
at and it seems from looking at your records that your cancer is in
remission?" "Yes." "Well, when we opened you it seems to be all over your
body. The doctor was wrong..it wasn't in remission.It was just growing
very slow and it spread all over." "How long?" "I'd say about 1 week at
the most." 
    Day by day Mulder watch her get worse. She was now on a feeding tube
and she couldn't talk. Mulder stayed by her side every step of the way.
Until one day when he went into the room, there was no one in there. The
bed was made and everything was gone...including the woman he loved.You
never realize what you have until you lose it.
