A Love Far Away By: Stephanie She was being transferred to Orlando. The higher ups decided to split the best pair of agents they had. JFK Airport August 11, 1999 5:00pm "Last call for flight 237 to Orlando," the voice ran through the speakers. Scully stood and faced her partner. She didn't really want him there, it would make going harder. But, he insisted since they hadn't seen each other for 3 days since she was notified of her transfer. "Well, this is it," she said trying to keep the emotion out of her voice. Mulder looked down at her and held the tears in check for her sake. "Yeah. I'm really going to miss you, no one around to tell me my theories are wrong. . . . well there will be but it won't be the same. Take care of yourself." "You too, I can't come save your all 1,000 miles away." They looked into each other's eyes. Finally the tears came and they found themselves in a big hug. "Go on before you miss your flight," he gave her a gentle shove towards the gate. "Keep in touch." "I will. And don't let Skinner get under your skin." "I won't." Standing there he watched Scully hand the attendant her ticket and head towards the plane. Only then did he go to the window and stare at the plane. He didn't even notice the tears streaming down his face as he watched his best friend and only love leave with the plane. ****************************************************** Scully stared out the window at DC, tears slowly coming down her face as she left the only place that felt like home. ****************************************************** Fox Mulder's Apartment Mulder walked in the door and proceeded to drop all his files on his table on the way to his computer. I am so bored, I'm silently wishing something paranormal would happen. There I said it, and it's hard to believe. How are the three stooges? Everything else forgotten, he opened the package and out popped a cassette tape with the words miss you written on it. He walked over to his stereo and popped it in. He listened to every lyric. I called you today just to hear you say you were not around When the message was through, though I wanted to I couldn't make a sound I wanna tell you the things I've seen I wanna take you to where I've been And I wish you were here with me Don't you know I really miss you. She's in love with you. Calling in for a few personal days, he went to see what flights were available to Orlando ASAP. ****************************************************** Next Day Mulder was glad Scully had sent him her new address and a spare key in case he ever visited. He snuck in and proceeded to wait on her couch until she came home. ****************************************************** They door unlocked and Dana Scully stepped in her home. She saw a figure rise off her couch. She was frozen in place as she reconized the man. "Mulder!" She found herself in his arms and him singing softly in her ear I really miss you Yes I do- yeah I really miss you Ohhhh yeah I do He looked at her face to see tears in her eyes. Thumbs lightly stroking her cheeks, he slowly met his lips with hers. "I love you," he said against her lips. "I love you too." They hugged again.
