Mulder paced the floor of his apartment nervously, waiting.
Today was the day. He was going to sit her down and tell her his true 
feelings.

Thoughts were chasing through his mind like a picture show.
*Does she feel the same?*
*Does she share the same feeling for me as I do her?*

A soft knock brought him back to present. He looked through the peep-hole
to see Scully. His heart quickened as he un-locked the door and
invited her in.

"Hey Mulder, you called me over, something wrong?"

Scully took off her coat and draped it over the arm of his couch.

" Uhh, no Scully, nothing wrong. Just wanted to talk to you about 
something."

Scully smiled, took Mulder's hand, leading him to the couch with her.
They sat down and Scully patted Mulder's knee playfully.

"Ok g-man, what is it you want to talk about? I'm all ears."

Mulder smiled but it faded as more butterflies grew in his stomach.

Scully noticed his nervous and her features quickly turned serious.

"Hey Mulder," she took his head in her hands and turned it so he
was looking at her.

"Hey tell me, what is it? Your nervous, something is not wrong is it?"

Mulder shook his head 'no' and found his voice.

He turned to Scully and took both her hands in his. "Scully, I called you
over here tonight, because there is something I've been wanting to tell
you, and ask you really."

Scully shook her head and gave his hand a squeeze in gesture to continue.

"I wanted to tell you..that I love you Scully. I have for a long time.
I'm not quite sure when it started but I know that you are the most
important person in my life, and I love you more than life itself."

Scully, was stunned to say the least, but she found her voice, though not
trusting if it was going to work.

"Mulder...I have loved you for so long too. God, since the day I walked into
the office I have loved you. I just never said anything because I 
didn't know if you felt the same."

"Scully, I was afraid of the same thing, but god in this line
of work you never know when your going to wake up one morning
and it might be your last. We have had so many close calls
I decided that it was time I tell you. Dana Scully, I love you."

Scully didn't reply, instead she pulled him closer, there lips touching
for the first time, the love flowing like white wine, the passion
surpassing all depts of there emotions.

They pulled apart, each gasping slightly from the lack of air.

Mulder stood up, and reached into his back pocket. Scully took a 
moment to figure out what he was doing, but gasped as she realized his 
plans.

Mulder moved down to one knee's and holding a small square box
in his hand he begin to speak.

"Dana Katherine Scully, I love you. You are the most important person 
in my life. I love you more than life itself. You complete me and without
you I am a body without a soul. I want to spend the rest of my life
with you. Will you marry me?"

Scully had her hand over her mouth, tears of happiness streaming down her 
cheeks. Shaking her head she whispered "Yes"

She lunged foward, bringing Mulder in a fierce hug. "God Yes, I'll marry
you, I love you Mulder"

"I love you too Scully."
