The FBI Love Triangle

The air conditioner wasn't working that hot D.C. day. Scully sat
back in her chair rubbing a cool Coke accross her forehead. The smell
of old dusty files was so thick you could almost see it in the right
light. Mulder sat at his desk in a T-shirt, with the occilating fan
whirring back and fourth, back and fourth. Papers flipped, wanting so
badly to take flight, but several rocks kept them grounded. He kept
writing, Scully was fast becomming impatient.

"Mulder, we could be back at my house, with the A/C running." she
tried to lure him, but figured sarcasm would work better, "You remember
A/C don't you? That box with the cool air comming out of it? The
aliens haven't taken that much of your mind have they?"

A smile came across his face, "Okay, you win, I'll box up these
papers and we'll go over there. You can go tell Skinner we're
leaving."

Scully got up and left, she sighed as she stepped out, she really
wasn't in the mood for Skinner now. Not in this heat - she thought.
The elevator was hotter than she'd ever noticed it, the buttons were
amost to hot to tuch. She swayed down the hall to his office, quietly
knocked on the door then went in. Skinner was rubbing his head with a
wet towel, and had a fan pointed straight at himself. His face
lightened up as he noticed Scully had entered.

"Sir, we're leaving and going to work back at my apartment with the
A/C. It's just to hot there in the basement."

"You and Mulder are going...back to your place." Skinner had
thought that might happen, it was just a matter of time, but he was
insinuating something more than they had in mind. "Scully, do you
worry how that might seem, you and Mulder at your place?"

"No sir, it's purely professional, nothing to worry about." She
crossed her fingers, she knew what she had in mind.

"Well Scully, if you do go, you might as well turn in your badge
for a binky, I know your fingers are crossed behind your back."

Scully was loosing her temper now, but her apetite was becoming
insatiable. Suddenly Skinner didn't look so unattractive, especially
if it meant her job. She'd kind of noticed his looks before when he
met her at Mulder's apartment after beating some info out of someone
that night. So she turned on the charm.

"So sir," she moved around the desk, "just what exactly would I
have to do to keep my badge?" She then slipped up on the top of the
desk, and kicked her shoes off.

Skinner put his hand on her calf, "Hmmmm, I belive I can think of
something." and a sleazy smile came accross his face.

Mulder was patiently waiting down in the office. He had everything
boxed up, and loaded into into the car. -She's taking waaayy to long-
he thought. Mulder then decided to grab a Coke and go up to the
office. He got into the elevator, and tapped the button, -I wonder
what they're doing?- thoughts of laughing, and joking rushed thru his
head. Then he had a horrid thought, Scully up on the desk, Skinner
there with her...

The FBI Love Triangle

These thoughts rushed thru Mulders brain, they made him angry, his
adrenelin flushed, hate brewed inside. He imagined what he would do to
Skinner, boss or no boss, he would kill him. He tried to picture what
Scully would be going thru, he knew Scully didn't like Skinner, or so
he thought.

When Mulder walked in, Scully and Skinner were staring out the back
window looking Washington, D.C. over. He laughed inside, thinking that
Scully would let Skinner bribe her with her job for sex. -Silly
thought-.

"Are you ready to go work in some A/C?"

Scully and Skinner turn around and look Mulder in the eye, they
then turn to each other and smile. "Sure Mulder, let's go to work."
Scully said with a hint of sarcasm.

"Nice of her to offer her apartment for yourselves, isn't it?"
Skinner had satisfaction in his voice.

"Yes it was." Mulder felt like he'd missed something.

"Have fun you guys." Skinner said as he pushed them out the door.
-thank God they're gone- he thought after they left.

Mulder walked Scully to the elevator and pushed the buttons, not a
word was said until they got into the car. "Seems like Skinner was
being a father figure there, don't you agree?"

Just as he said that Scully cringed, -geeze he ruined it for me-
"Yeah he was acting kind of strange." she commented, trying to hide it.

They drove quietly all the way to her apartment. Thoughts of -AhHa
I was right, she did do it, ewwww how can I after, I'll kill him, he
ruined her for me- were working they're way thru Mulder's head. Scully
was thinking about how she was going to avoid Mulder's questions
-headache, no, backache, no, ovaries, yeah I'll tell him I'm ovulating,
that always makes him shut up-. They pulled up and removed all the
boxes from the car, when they got into the apartment Mulder began the
inquisition.

"So you did it, didn't you! What did he do this time, threaten
your job? Threaten to kick me out of the FBI? What was it?" He was
angry, hurt, their relationship had become a joke.

    "Mulder, it's different for women...most don't, but I just couldn't
wait for...It's been almost two years Mulder!" She couldn't believe
that he didn't get all the signals she'd left for him. She'd
practically left a trail of bread crumbs to her bed, but he didn't get
it.

"Oh don't give me that crap, men get just as worked up as women, we
just release our tentions differently." What a lame excuse he thought.
But I'm going to stand behind it.

"Why didn't you pick up on the signals? Where was your head? In
those porno flicks? In those magazines? Maybe if I had some staple
holes in my belly you'd look at me?"

"I give up, if you want Skinner you can have him, just eat him up,
I'm gone." Mulder meant it this time, he was going to go underground,
no more of this FBI stuff. He was going to the Lone Gunmen and work
quietly where the dark shadows of government couldn't reach him. He
turned to leave.

Scully looked at him, then grabbed his arm and yanked his shirt
down so she could kiss his lips. "Don't you leave me!" she cried, "Not
after everything we've been thru, don't you dare go off and leave me
here!"

Mulder looked deep into her eyes, and brushed her hair aside, he
caressed her face, and touched her lips. He stood there over her for a
few minutes, just looking at her, watching her reaction. She looked
straight at him and by the look in her eyes demanded his answer. -What
a decision he thought, spend the rest of my life with Frohickey and
some magazines, or with Dana Scully- He bent down and gently kissed
her lips.

"We can't stay here, you know that. We'd have to go somewhere
else, *away*from*Skinner."

"Yes, yes, I can do that, I can teach at another University on the
west coast, or anywhere, as long as you are there with me."
