CLASSIFICATION: X (in a way), A SUMMARY: In an unknown place Mulder discovers he is alone. *** You've got to remember You're not alone in this world Always remember You're not alone in this world -Amy Grant "You're Not Alone" *** Unknown Place Unknown Time It was dark and cold. I could barely move in any direction except up. And even then it wasn't very much. The only thing I knew for sure was that I was alone. Alone like I might have been if things were different. One more washed up man on a deserted street corner with no home, no food, no money, and worse, no one to love him, to care. My mind immediately went to how much air was in this prison, trying to figure out how long it would be before it was gone. It was then I realized that I didn't know how long I had been there. It could have been years, days, hours, even minutes. My watch was gone. So was my gun. I wasn't hungry, nothing else seemed out of the ordinary. It also felt like I had shaved recently. So that had to mean I hadn't been here long. Right? But then... where was here? And *why* was I here? The last thing I remembered was sitting in my apartment. Then... a phone call? It started getting blurry after that. Could Scully have called? Something to do with a case. A cold chill swept over me. That would mean that wherever *here* was... Scully was somewhere near. Maybe right now looking for me. I thought about yelling, but decided against it. If Scully was out there looking for me or, heaven forbid, in the same predicament as me, she would find me without me having to panic. A blast of cold air hit my face and chest making me shiver again. I blinked several times thinking that light might follow the air. Nothing. Only blackness. Then with a grunt I felt something drop onto me. Then the air stopped. The scent of vanilla hit me like a freight train. Scully had been using that kind of shampoo lately. That was how I always knew she had walked into the room. I started to say something but felt my breath catch in my throat. One glaring fact that had escaped me before uncovered itself, so to speak. I was missing my clothes and as one of my arms was able to get around her and I felt only skin, I knew we both were. Scully nuzzled her face into my neck as she pressed her hands flat against my chest and whimpered my name. Oh Scully, I'm so sorry. However we got here and for what reason I know it's my fault. I took several breaths to calm myself down. We'd find a way out. And I actually began to believe that everything was going to be all right. That was when something hot splashed onto my neck. Scully was crying. "Scully, what's wrong?" I whispered. All she could do was sob. I felt like crying with her. Whatever you did to her, you bastards, I'm going to kill you. Author's Notes: Thanks to Mareena who helped with the idea. Also apologies for mistakes that I'm sure must be in there. English is my first language and I still can't seem to get it right.
