From: KITTV Date: 22 Sep 1998 15:49:36 GMT Subject: New: Memories of the Past, Part 1/4 MSR by Christina Well, someone wanted to read the rest. I'm reposting part 1 and then on with the show. Disclaimer: Mulder, Scully, and friends belong to CC, Fox, and 1013. Oh yeah, Pizza Hut belongs to. . . Pizza Hut! Category-MSR Spoilers- a little of The Field Where I Died Summary- Scully decides to try to remember a past-life and it has some interesting results p.s. ** around a word means stress. K, u know the drill, I WANT FEEDBACK! Flames, whatever, I don't care. This was the first story I ever wrote so it's not my best. Also, I want to apologize for any mess-ups bout this part of history. I thought this up during summer school Western Civilizations. Four hours of one class can do weird things to a person! Memories of the Past It's amazing how I got this far. I am in Mulder's arms and for once, he hasn't been hurt and I haven't been hurt. We are like this for the pure joy of it. Amazing, how we got to this stage of our relationship. I thought this day would never come, when we hold each other and can finally admit how much we love each other. I guess it all started yesterday, that fateful day I made the decision. ----------------------------- "I can't believe I'm doing this" I muttered. My curiousity had gotten the better of me. Ever since Mulder "remembered" his past life it had been on my mind since then. I was going to be put under to see if I remembered anything. Me! The skeptic! Looking for past lives! Mulder didn't know; if he did, I'd never hear the end of it. I almost turned back when I reached the office door, but something pulled me. I needed to know. I *had* to know. "Hello Ms. Scully. Please, come in. I'm Dr. Guliani," she said shaking my hand. Dr. Guliano was tall, very tall. I had to look up and up to look into her chocolate eyes. Her fine black hair hung in a loose braid. She sat down. "So, Dana, I can call you Dana?" A nod. "You are sure you wish to go through with this?" I drew a hesitant breath. "Yes." No turning back know. "Alright, I'm going to record this session so you can listen to it when we are done, ok? Good. Let's get started! Now, I want you to close your eyes and relax. . . " ------------------------------- I wiped the sweat off my brow as I watched the workers. It was a hot day in September in the textile factory. The year is 1799. I am Joshua Schwartz. Subject: New: Memories of the Past, part 2/? MSR by: Christina I have been a foreman in this factory for 5 years now. And each year gets harder. The workers are treated unfairly and this discusts me. I try to give a little leeway where my workers are concerned. The other foremen however. . . I walk through the rows watching as men, women and children work on cloth. My eyes come to rest on one woman in particular. She is beautiful with jet black hair and eyes the color of the sea. Her name is Lily, Lily Sanders. She is Mulder. I have come to fall in love with Lily and I know she loves me to. I see it in her eyes, everytime we have our secret meetings under the cover of darkeness, the whispered words of caring and fear for the other's safety. It is dangerous for others to know of our attraction. I fear for my Lily's life. We have been making plans to escape this wretched factory and go to a new place in America. Maybe down south or up north. The owner of the factory comes to see me. His name is Jonathan O'Conner. He is Skinner. "Joshua, I wanted to congratulate. Your workers work hard and produce good fabric but I'm sorry. I must deny your request for better wages for the workers. There isn't that much money in the factory." "Yes sir." I am disappointed. They are paid close to nothing and yet, I know there is a lot more money coming in to his greedy hands. There has to be. "I understand," I say with a face devoid of emotion. I mastered that trick after I took this job. It is not safe to let others know what you are feeling. It can be used against you. With this said, he turned and walked away. I know Mr. O'Conner is a kind man, I've seen his kindness myself. How can he not feel anything for these people? Then I see those who I hate. The other two foremen approach me. One is tall with dirty blond hair and blue eyes filled with a cool, calculating hatred. This is Harold Silverman. He is Cancerman. The other is a dark-haired hazel-eyed bastard by the name if Alexander Dolchak. He is Krychek. "Hello gentlemen. May I help you?" How I wish they would go away. "We just came to see if you need any help. Do you?" asked Silverman with a sneer. "No everything is fine." I try to brush him off but he just ignores me. "Hello, my sweet." I hear Dolchak say to my Lily. He is grabbing her! "Dolchak! Stop harassing my workers!" I yell. Dolchak is angry but complies. He knows I am boss of these workers. He has been trying to get my Lily to marry him but I have come in the way. He knows this. Silverman also knows this but because Dolchak is his nephew, he wants to keep Lily and I apart. I know this will never happen. I would rather die then live without Lily. "Do you gentlemen need anything?" I ask cooly. "Nothing, nothing at all. We just wanted to make sure everything was alright." Dolchak tries to hide a frown but I catch it. "Everything is fine. I will see you at closing time. Good day." I turn back to my workers. It has been very dangerous since the incident in the bathroom. Lily was in there when Dolchak came in. No one was around so he tried to take advantage of her. When I came in, I was so filled with rage at Dolchak, I forgot all about secrecy and hit him in the jaw. I saved my Lily, but gained two new enemies and a reprimand from Mr. O'Conner. He knew that I was saving Lily but he had to reprimand me to at least keep his reputation. Finally the day ends and I can head home. Lily will be meeting me there. I finally have enough money to get us out of here and leave this god-forsaken place. Tonight, I will tell Lily how much I love her and ask her to marry me. -------------------------------- Subject: New: Memories of the Past, Part 3/? MSR by: Christina When Lily gets to my house, she wraps her arms around me. "Thank you for saving me," she says softly. Her sweet voice sounds like music and I decide to ask her now. I take a deep breath and begin. "Lily, ever since I saw you, I knew I had to have you. We have a bond, Lily, and I want to grow old with you. You make me want to live. I love you Lily and always will, in this life and the next. I will always love you." I take her head in my hands and look into those sea-green eyes and finger her waist-length hair. "Will you marry me?" I hold my breath. Her eyes fill with tears and she throws her arms aroung me. "Yes, I will. I love you Joshua. In this life and the next" My heart soars as I hear those words. I grab her hands and lean down to kiss her when suddenly, my door bursts open and Dolchak comes carrying a rifle. "I have come for Lily!" "NO!" I yell and stand in front of her. "She is mine! We are to be married. SHE DOESN'T LOVE YOU!" "If I can't have her, no one will!" And with that, Dolchak pulled the trigger. It all happened so quick and yet I see it in my mind in slow motion. I heard a cry and my dear sweet Lily jumped in front of me and took the bullet. "NOOOOOOOOO!" I yell in despair as she falls to the ground. Her blood coats my hand as I look into those sweet eyes one last time. "I will always love you" she whispers and falls limp in my arms. Filled with rage, I leap at Dolchak and he shoots me also, in the shoulder. I fall next to my beloved Lily and grab her hand. I am in pain and everything is growing dim. As I stare at her face, I feel the pain recede as I come to the realization that I will meet her again in the next life. My last thoughts are on Lily and how much I love her. . . " ---------------------------- With a jolt I woke up, not remembering a thing. There was a strange look on Dr. Guliani's face. "What?" I asked, a little breathless. I wondered if I actually remembered something. "Nothing, it's nothing." she says with a slight smile on her face. She hands me a tape. "If you would like to come back and try this again, I'd love to have you back. I'm afraid our time is up though. Please, feel free to call me." I walked to my car, confused. Dr. Guliani almost seemed surpried and . . . happy? Nah, couldn't be I thought. I didn't listen to the tape when I got home. I was chicken, I realize that now. I was afraid of what might be on it. I went to sleep. ----------------------------- Subject: New: Memories of the Past, Part 4/4 MSR by: Christina At work, all I could think about was the tape. Well, not quite. I couldn't stop thinking about Mulder either. He just looked so. . .good today. I don't know. But before the day was out I decided to go home early and listen to the tape. "Hey Mulder," I said. "I'm going home early. It's slow so you don't mind do you?" "Why? Got a hot date tonight Scully?" He replied jokingly. "What would you do if I did?" I shot back. I grabbed my coat. I don't know what possessed me but I just blurted out, "Why don't you come over tonight, if you bring the food, I'll provide the entertainment." He smiled, happy. "Why Scully, I didn't know you cared. I'll be there at 8:00?" "Ok." I smiled and left the room. When I got home, my curiousity was killing me so I got the tape and popped it into the deck. My heart started to pound as I rewound the tape, I don't know why. When it stopped, I pushed play. I listened to my voice narrate the tragic story of the two lovers. I wouldn't have believed it if it wasn't my voice. It seemed to hit me like a blow to the face when I realized this *had* to be true. It felt, I don't know, like deja vu. When it finished, I realized that I love Mulder. I had been trying to deny it for so long, the feelings I got everytime I looked at him, the lonely nights. I realized, with a jolt, that I was given a chance to do things differently this time. But I was scared. What if Mulder didn't love me? What if he laughed at me or brushed me off? How could I still be his partner if I knew he would only see me as a sister not a lover? Stop it! You're being silly, I argued with myself. You're a rational adult who can get through this. This is how everything went until I realized it was 7:30. Mulder would be coming soon. I made up my mind. I would ask him what he felt. -------------------------------- 8:00 came and someone knocked at the door. I had changed into a blue sweatshirt and black leggings. I went to the door, took a deep breath and opened it. There stood Mulder and I nearly fainted. He was wearing these jeans that just. . . and this turtleneck that. . . and a black leather jacket which. . . Get ahold of yourself Dana! You'll have time for that later. Stop it! Let the poor man in. Luckily, Mulder missed my reaction (I think). "Pizza man!" he said cheerfully. I moved and could smell the cheese and tomato sauce as he walked to the kitchen. We talked about some old cases, new cases, and old memories over a wonderful dinner of supreme pizza from Pizza Hut. We then moved to the couch to talk. "I want to let you listen to something." "Really, well Scully, I'm all ears." he said with a smile. "It's on a tape. Yesterday, the reason I left work early was to go to a doctor's office and. . ." Mulder cut me off, "Are you ok Scully?" he said with worried eyes. "No. Not that kind of doctor. I went to a psychologist's office. Ever since you said you had a past life experience at the Temple of the Seven Stars, it got me to thinking." I took a deep breath. "I went to see if I could remember anything about a past life." "You Scully, I can't believe that." He looked at me. "You're serious aren't you?" "Yes. I want you to listen to the tape." I got up and pushed play. "I'll be in the kitchen." I waited there for what seemed like days when in all actuality, it was only a half hour. I didn't know what Mulder was thinking. After a half hour was up, I walked into the living room. Mulder was sitting on the couch, looking at the wall. The tape had just finished. I caught snatches of my voice as I walking into the room. Mulder didn't see me but I could see him. He seemed to be looking at the wall but I knew he was thinking. His face showed traces of emotions and, amazingly, tears. I walked up to him. "Mulder, are you all right?" I asked softly. He seemed scared, like a lost puppy. I wanted to hold him in my arms and protect him but I resisted the urge. He looked at me and I searched his eyes. There was recognition, sadness and. . . no, I have to be seeing things! Love? He spoke. "I remember that. I remember being there as Lily. Not actual memories, just images, feelings. I. . ." He hesitated. "I love you." he whispered. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that. I should be going." He started to get up. I was stunned! He loved me? He loved me! Mulder was moving toward the door when I finally realized. He was leaving? Dana, you idiot! He thinks you dont't love him! I got up from the couch and touched Mulder's arm. He looked down at me with those beatiful hazel eyes. "I love you to." I whispered. "What?" He looked like he couldn't believe it. "I love you to." I said a little louder. "I have always loved you and will always love you, in this world and the next." echoing Josh . . my words. "In this world and the next." With that, he took me in his arms and we just sat there, feeling each other's presence, happy we finally admitted what we felt to each other. The next morning, I awoke to find myself on a human bed. Memories of last night came back and I smiled in contentment. Things finally seemed to be going right. I snuggled into Mulder's arms as he moved sleepily to accomodate me and fell asleep, the ghost of a smile on my face. The End! email me with your comments please! And thanks for reading!
