Is Mulder her next victim? New Year's Kiss Christina Ortega *1 year earlier* "I need you, David." David Banks backed up slowly, "No Jenny. I-I don't feel the same way about you. I have a wife and kids. Please, let me go!" Jenny Williams sighed in disgust at the man in front of her. David was, well, had been her employee at Robertson Law Firm. When she had first seen him, she had been amazed by his stunning beauty. His hair was as black as the darkest night, and his skin was olive-toned. His face was an absolutely perfect shape, and his hazel eyes were soft, yet strong. Jenny thought to herself. Now, David Banks was a wreck. He was a disappointment to her. David had turned out to be just a wimp, like the others. He was dressed, now, in nothing but khaki pants. There was a scar on his face and a gash, still bleeding, on his chest. "Please, Jenny," David whimpered, glancing around the room for a way to escape. He found none, and shivered as damp air hit his shoulders. Suddenly, he felt his body lose control. David felt his feet step forward. Left...right...left...right... Jenny grinned as David walked closer towards her. Soon, he was right in front of her. "What the fuck?" David gasped, a look of terror grasping his features. Glancing down at her watch, Jenny chuckled, wrapping an arm around David's shoulder. "Happy New Year," She whispered, placing her lips atop David's. Jenny kissed him passionately, until David began to convulse. Soon, he was on the floor, gasping for air. As David let out his last breath, Jenny shook her head in feined sadness. "I'm sorry, David," she whispered, "I don't think our relationship is working out." xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx *present day* "Did you have a nice Christmas, Scully?" Fox Mulder asked his partner, Dana Scully, over the phone. "I did, although the alien autopsy video you got me was a little contrived, Mulder." "Sure, but I know that you must have enjoyed the Elvis CD's I got you." "Whatever," Scully said, laughing, "How'd you like your present?" "I needed more neckties, and don't worry, Scully, I'll be sure to wear the glow-in-the-dark alien one once we start work again," Mulder replied, sarcastically. "Anyway," Scully said, changing the subject, "What did you want?" "I'm going out for dinner, and I wanted to know if you wanted to come," Sensing Scully's eyebrows rise, Mulder quickly added, "It's a nice place, and I'm buying." Scully grinned, "I'd love to." xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Jenny Williams frowned. "Stupid law firm," She muttered. She had been fired 2 months ago, and had been reduced to becoming a waitress at Zeferreli's. She thought to herself. Her train of thought was broken as she watched a couple walk into the already packed restaurant. The woman was a petite redhead. Judging by her attire, she was a business woman. Jenny thought, and then there was the man...wow! "He's something, huh?" Sandy Jacobson quipped, as if reading Jenny's mind. "Sure is," Jenny said, turning to face her companion. Though she usually didn't get along well with people, Sandy was different. She had a personality similar to Jenny, so they got along really well. "That's Fox Mulder," Sandy continued, gazing at Mulder over Jenny's shoulder, "He's a Federal Agent!" "How do you know?" Jenny asked. "I've seen him go into the FBI headquarters in Washington when I still worked near there." "Who's the bitch with him?" Sandy frowned, "I don't know, but I think she's his partner." Jenny felt a tap on her shoulder, and turned around to see Richard Walker, her boss, standing in front of her. Richard was a rather handsome man. He had short blond hair, sparkling blue eyes, and a gorgeous smile, but still, he was nothing compaired to Fox Mulder. "You've got table 25," Richard said, pointing to a table by the wall of the restaurant. Jenny smiled. It was Fox Mulder and his partner's table. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx "Ok, Mulder, what's the weirdest present you've ever gotten?" Mulder grinned, "3 years ago, I got a shirt with Marvin the Martian all over it." Scully smirked, "Who gave you that?" "A guy in the BSU. I forget who it was." "Well," Scully said, tucking a loose strand of her shiny red hair behind her ear, "I got a disco light from my mom one time." "Did you ever use it?" Mulder asked, grinning. Scully smiled, "It's still in the box." "If you ever decide to use it, give me a call," Mulder joked, his eyes twinkling. Scully was about to retort when the waitress walked up to their table. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Jenny ran a hand through her long, golder hair, and smiled at the two people in front of her, "Hi, I'm Jenny. I'll be your waitress this evening. Can I get you something to drink?" "Red wine," Scully said, peering at the menu. Mulder raised his eyebrows, "You want to get contaminated tonight, Scully?" "Ha ha," Scully said, sardonically. "Well," Mulder said, looking up at Jenny, "Make that two red wines." Jenny nodded, examined Mulder quickly with her eyes, and walked towards the kitchen. After she had left, Scully leaned towards Mulder and whispered, "She likes you." "What?" Mulder asked, confused. "That waitress. She likes you." "How can you tell?" Scully rolled her eyes, "You are so naive! Did you see her eyes? She was examining you like you were a lab specimen under a microscope!" Mulder smirked xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx "So," Sandy said, walking over to Jenny after her shift was over, "Was he as cute up close?" "Ten times cuter!" Jenny said, smiling. Sandy frowned, "What I wouldn't give to be that woman he was with. From what I saw, they were flirting non stop." "Her name is Dana Scully, and they are partners." "How'd you find out?" `What can I say?" Jenny said, innocently, "I've been an evesdropper since birth." Sandy grinned, "So, are you getting off now?" "Late shift," Jenny sighed, "I'll see you tomorrow." "Bye," Sandy said. She grabbed her black leather jacket and walked out the door. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx "I've closed the restaurant, Jenny," Richard called from the kitchen. There was no reply. "Jenny?" Richard tried once more. Still, no reply. Richard exited the kitchen and entered the now dark main dining room. If it wasn't for the street lights outside, Richard wouldn't have been able to see. "It's amazing how fast the days go." Richard jumped at the voice, and spun around to find Jenny, dressed in a white blouse and short blue skirt. "I thought you had left," Richard said, almost laughing at the fact that he had actually been frightened. "I guess I hadn't," Jenny said, walking closer. Richard swallowed hard. Still, something didn't feel right. Richard looked at her, puzzled, and instinctively began moving backwards, "What are you doing?" "I need you, Richard." "No," Richard said, fear glistening in his eyes, "It's late, Jenny. Why don't we just go home. You're probably just tired, ok?" Richard walked over to the door and pushed it. The door wouldn't open. He pushed it harder. Still, it wouldn't budge. "What the hell?" Richard gasped. he turned around and glared at Jenny, who was smiling brightly. "I told you, Richard. I need you, and I'll get you any way I can," Jenny said. She sounded almost demon-possessed. Jenny raised her right hand and brought it down swiftly. Richard cried out and fell to his knees. Feeling his side, Richard felt the warm blood trickling out of the mysterious gash. "Damn it," Richard whispered, despretely trying to calm his breathing, "Let me go, Jenny. Please." Jenny chuckled, "I don't think so, Richie." Suddenly, Richard felt himself rise from the floor and begin to move. Step...step...step...closer to Jenny. Soon, he was right in front of her. "I'm sorry," Jenny said, unsympethetically, "All I can offer is a kiss goodbye." She kissed him, and watched as the life drained out of him. As Richard's body fell to the floor, Jenny whispered, "I apologize, but I have my sights set on someone else now." xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx "Scully." Scully peered at her clock. 9:47am. She only knew of one person that would call her before 11am when she was still on holiday vacation. She was not disappointed. "You want to hear something spooky?" "You're fish are still alive?" Scully asked, sarcastically. "Actually, they are, but that's not what I'm talking about," Mulder retorted, "You know the restaurant we went to yesterday?" "Zeffereli's? What about it?" "The manager of the restaurant, Richard Walker, is dead. It appears to be a homicide." Scully thought to herself, "Appears to be?" "There were no prints on the body, and the only harm done to him was the scar on his side. It wasn't deep enough to cause death." "I assume you want to go down there." Knock-knock "Hold on, Mulder, there's someone at my door." Scully opened the door to find...Mulder. "I'll be with you in a second, Scully. This rude woman put me on hold," Mulder joked, stepping through the doorway. "When did the death occur?" Scully asked, shutting her phone off. "Last night at approx. 12 midnight." "Any witnesses?" "Yes," Mulder replied, pulling a picture from her pocket, "I got this from Officer Tulman this morning. Look familiar?" Scully studied the picture for a moment, "Wasn't she our waitress yesterday?" "You have a good memory, Scully," Mulder said, taking the picture from her hands, "Her name is Jennifer Williams. She's worked at Zeffereli's for the past 2 months." Scully frowned, "What does she say happened?" "She said that a man broke into the restaurant and cut Richard. Jennifer says that she ran before she could see how he died." "Was there any evidence of a break in?" "Officer Tulman said that there wasn't." "Has anyone questioned Jennifer further?" Mulder smiled, "That is our great privilage, Agent Scully." "Mulder, it's holiday vacation!" Scully whined. Mulder pouted, "You want me to go alone?" Scully sighed, "No. I'll come." Grinning, she added, "She might hurt you." xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx TO BE CONTINUED Subject: NEW: New Year's Kiss 2/2 From: Rkacat@aol.com Summary~ A woman gets her thrills from holding men against their will and killing them with a kiss. Is Mulder her next victim? New Year's Kiss Christina Ortega "I can't b-believe that he's really dead!" Jenny sobbed, wiping her tears with her hads. "Can you describe the man who broke into the restaurant?" Officer Andy Tulman asked. He knew that there was no sign of a break in, but he couldn't believe that this fragile young girl in front of him would have been able to kill Richard Walker. It just wasn't credible. "He was tall," Jenny replied, looking at the policeman, "Maybe 6'4. The man had dark hair. I-It might have been black. I don't know. It was dark in the room, so I couldn't get a good look at him." At that moment, though, Jenny was looking at the police officer. His skin was white, and he had shiny blond hair that hung in bangs over his forehead. She was also trying not to laugh. All these policemen were so stupid. They knew that there was no sign of a break in, but they were all too sexist to believe that she could have killed Richard. Just then, a silver car rolled up behind the other police cars. Jenny watched in amazement as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully stepped out of the car and flashed their FBI badges at Officer Tulman. "I'm Agent Mulder and this is Agent Scully. You contacted me this morning about a homicide." The Officer shook Mulder's hand, "I'm glad you and your partner could come because, frankly, we're baffled." "There is still no evidence of a break in?" Scully asked. Officer Tulman shook his head, "Nothing." "Can Miss Williams account for this?" Again, Officer Tulman shook his head, "No. She's still sticking to that break in story. Do you want to talk to her? She's right over there." He pointed at Jenny. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Jenny thought, excitedly. Then she saw Dana Scully following him. "Jennifer Williams?" Mulder asked, pulling his badge from his bocket. "That's me," Jenny replied, trying not to smile. "I'm Special Agent Fox Mulder, this is Agent Scully, we're with the FBI." "Hey!" Jenny exclaimed, pretending to be surprised, "You were at the restaurant yesterday! Sorry, I didn't recognize you before." "What we really want to talk about is this murder, Miss Williams," Scully said, changing the subject. Jenny thought to herself, "I've told the police everything that I know." "Yes, but you haven't accounted for the fact that there was no evidence of a break in. In fact, there was no evidence of any disturbance," Mulder persisted, his voice taking on that `I'm FBI and you better watch what you say' tone. Jenny looked at the ground. "I know what I saw! Are you saying I'm a lier?" "No one is implying anything, Miss Williams," Scully said, taking a mental note that she was definetly stubborn, "We're just trying to understand what happened." "As I said, I know what I saw," Jenny said, trying to add a hint of anger to her voice. "Well," Mulder began, pulling a card from his trench coat, "If you think of something else this is my cell phone number. You'll be able to reach me there anytime." "Sure, ok," Jenny said, raising her eyes again, "I need some time after this. Can I go?" "Sure," Scully said, waving her hand which gestured that she could go. Jenny looked them both over once again, then walked towards her car and drove off. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Mulder had just gotten into comfortable clothes later that night when his cell phone rang. At first, he wasn't going to answer it because he was exhausted, but thinking that it might be Scully, he picked up anyway, "Mulder." "Mr. Mulder?" "Who is this?" Mulder asked, his forehead creasing in interest. "This is Jennifer Williams. I don't know what's going on, but I think there's someone following me. I'm scared." Now Mulder was totally alert, "Where are you?" "Zeffereli's. I have all the lights off, but I can see the car out there. Please, hurry!" "I'm on my way," Mulder said, already grabbing his coat and pulling it over his black shirt. Switching off his phone, he grabbed his gun and left his apartment. At Zeffereli's, Jenny smiled. "Like taking candy from a baby," She muttered, looking at her captive on the floor. Sandy Jacobson wrestled with the rope tied around her wrists until she gave up, tired from the effort. "I'm sorry, Sandy. I just can't have anything interfering with my plan," Jenny said, and, deep inside, she meant it. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Mulder looked through the windows of Zeffereli's to check for any disturbance. He saw nothing. Glancing over his shoulder, he didn't see anyone watching him, so he slowly opened the restaurant door, his gun drawn. He looked around the dark room. Nothing. There was no sign of Jennifer or any stalker. Mulder was about to call out to Jenny to see if she was just hiding, until he heard whimpering from under a table. Crouching down, he lifted the table cloth. This revealed the beaten body of a small Asian woman. She was tied up and gagged. Removing the gag, Mulder whispered, "Who are you? What happened?" "Get out of here," She cried, "It's a trap. Please, leave!" Mulder was about to try and help the young woman out when he felt a sharp blow to the side of his head. Rolling onto his side, Mulder looked up to see...no one. Then, squinting, he saw Jennifer Williams standing across the room. Mulder thought, feeling the blood rolling from his forehead. "I'm sorry, Fox," Jenny said, smiling, "but I'm kinda...desperate." Unexpectedly, Mulder felt something pull him to his feet and throw him back down on top of the table. Mulder cried out, and, gasping for breath, he passed out. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Mulder awoke in a place that he didn't recognize wearing nothing but the jeans that he had been wearing before. He was going to try and rub his temple, but he was held back by rope that was fastened around his wrists and feet. Mulder sensed the blood still flowing from his head, and his ribs were throbbing. He swallowed hard, despretly trying to rid himself of the nauseating feeling in his stomach. Just then, he heard a bitter voice call out, "Did my Fox have a nice nap?" "What the hell is going on here, Jennifer?" Mulder asked, spitefully. He looked up to see Jennifer pouting, "Tsk tsk. We're going to have to work on that grammer, now won't we, Fox? Call me Jenny. That's what everyone calls me." "Why did you kill Richard Walker?" "I dunno," Jenny replied, walking closer to Mulder like a predator creeping closer to it's prey, "I was just tired of him. Besides, now we can be together." She knelt down in front of Mulder, but he greeted her by spitting. "That was very rude, Fox," Jenny exclaimed. "Where's that girl that was at the restaurant?" Mulder asked. "Sandy? She's ok. I have her in the back room. Now," Jenny said, caressing Mulder's back, "Let's talk about us. Do you prefer to do it fast or slow?" "Neither with you, bitch," Mulder retorted, his voice full of rage. Jenny shook her head, "That won't do at all, Fox." Stepping back, Mulder watched as Jenny raised her hands, bearing her nails, "I'm sorry to do this, but it's the only way you'll learn to behave." Abruptly, Jenny dropped her hand to her side. Mulder cried out and arched his back against the pain. Something had slashed him, but what? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx "Mulder, where are you?" Scully wondered aloud. She had been trying to call Mulder for the past hour, and he hadn't picked up. "Great," She muttered, "I guess I'm spending New Years on my own." Just then, her own phone rang, "Scully." "Is this Agent Dana Scully?" "Who is this?" Scully asked, her heart beating. "This is Sandy Jacobson," Scully noted that the woman's voice was shaky, "I'm in a warehouse outside of Fairfax." "How'd you get this number?" Scully asked. She heard Sandy gulp hard before continuing, "I got your number off the emergency numbers on Fox Mulder's cell phone." "What happened to Mulder?" "I escaped. Jennifer Williams has him." Scully gasped, "What happened?" "She's holding him hostage," The voice said over the phone, "you have to help him!" Scully released her breath that she realized she had been holding, "Where are you?" xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Mulder cried out once again as he felt something hard kicking at his abdomen. He looked at Jenny pleadingly, but she merely shook her head, as if reading his mind. Mulder thought, amazed. His thoughts were haulted by a powerful blow to his ribs. He gasped and curled up into a ball, trying to protect his beaten body. Jenny grinned She walked over to Mulder and bent down in front of him once again, "Aw, does your tummy hurt, Fox?" "Let me go," Mulder whispered, grimicing as his head began to pound. Jenny leaned closer to Mulder, smiling, "Maybe. 45 minutes till New Years, Fox! You should be excited." Grinning like a little girl with her first ice cream, she closed the distance between herself and Mulder, brushing her lips against his. Jenny was tempted to finish Mulder off right at that moment, but somehow, she couldn't do it. Backing away, she muttered, "45 minutes to go." Her eyes twinkling devilishly, Jenny took her nails and dug them into Mulder's chest. No longer having the capability to scream, Mulder passed out, a small tear falling from his eye. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Scully glanced down at her watch. 11:45. Looking ahead of her, she stopped her car and practically jumped through the door as she ran, both anxiously and afraid, to the gloomy warehouse. Looking around to make sure she hadn't been followed, Scully pulled at the rusty door open. The door, surprisingly, made no noise. Pulling out her flashlight, Scully glanced around the dark warehouse, trying to find any signs of life. The beam of light fell on something that made her blood run cold. Switching from a walk to a run, Scully scurried over to a bunch of crates, where her partner was rolled up in a ball. "Mulder?" Scully asked, concerned, as she looked at her partner. "Mulder?" She tried once again. Still, Mulder didn't attempt to reply. Scully raised her hand to get a closer look at the injury on Mulder's chest, but her hand was quickly pushed away by Mulder, who's hand was shaking violently. Scully tried to get Mulder to look at her, but he kept looking away. "He's in shock," Scully murmured aloud. Quickly taking off her trenchcoat, Scully draped it around her shivering partner who brought his legs closer to his body, as if trying to defend himself. Suddenly, Scully turned around to see Jennifer Williams staring right at her, "Hi, bitch. What do you think you're doing to my Fox?" Scully stood up, now totally facing her advesary, "I'm getting him to a hospital. He needs medical attention, thanks to you!" Jenny smirked, "At least I cared about him, unlike you." "Cared!?" Scully yelled, boiling with anger, "You call beating people caring?" Jenny sighed, and Scully felt something push her down onto the ground. Hard. She fell a few inches away from Mulder, who was staring at her, his eyes glimmering with fright. Scully had barely recovered from the blow, when she watched in horror as Jenny raised a gun and levelled it at her. Scully thought to herself. She recognized it by the small crack on the side. "I could kill you," Jenny said calmly, looking at the gun proudly. Scully watched as she raised the gun, pointing it at Mulder. "But it's New Years. I always kill the guys first on New Years." "No!" Scully screamed, backing up so that her petite form was draped like a protection shield over Mulder's shivering body. The cold from Mulder radiated onto Scully, and a chill rolled down her spine. Jenny shook her head, "Fine. Have it your way." Scully tightened her arms protectively around her partner as she heard the safety clip snap on the gun. Without warning she heard it. *Bang* Scully looked up to find Jennifer lying on the floor. Sandy Jacobson was standing up behind a stack of boxes holding a small pistol. "Got it off your partner. I thought it might come in handy," Sandy said, though Scully wasn't really listening. Scully raised her eyes to Mulder, who was looking at her. He looked like a frightened child who had lost his parents. Breathing a sigh of relief, Scully wrapped her arms around Mulder, embracing him tightly, hoping to find some comfort that he would be all right. As she felt his shivering lessen, she was reassured that he would be. After calling the paremedics, Scully undid the ropes that were tied tightly around Mulder's wrists and feet. As she did so, Mulder looked up at her, teeth chattering, "Scully?" "Yeah, Mulder?" Glancing at the watch on his partner's wrist, Mulder grabbed her hand and kissed it gently. "Happy New Year." Sighing contentedly, Mulder closed his eyes and let darkness overtake him. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The End! Ok, ok, it was kind of sappy at the end, but I wanted it to end with some New Years thing, and this was the only thing my pitiful little brain could come up with. I hope you liked it. Just a small request: I LOVE FEEDBACK!
