Poker Night
Rating: PG

This is just a cute little story I wrote. I was bored
and the TV was busted. What can I say? Read on.
Mulder, Scully, and the 3 Lone Gunmen <or Andy, Kris
and Joe.. Frohicke, Langly, and Byers, respectively>
belong to a whole bunch of companies with really good
lawyers and lots o' money. Don't sue. It's really not
worth it.

8:00 PM
Lone Gunman Headquarters
Friday, March 7.
"Ok guys. five card draw, jokers are anything,
aces high and there is a one dollar minimum on all
betting." Byers declared, shuffling the cards. It was
Friday night, poker night. Playing was poker was almost
a religion to the three men seated around a card table,
covered in assorted munchies. The cards were dealt out.

8:51 PM
"Not again!" Langly cried as Frohicke gathers
all the chips on his side of the table. They had played
about 10 hands, and Frohicke had a good portion of
Langly's money. Byers was breaking about even.
"How much-" Frohicke was cut of as a buzzer
sounded.
"Rock paper scissors" Byers declared. Frohicke
ended up losing and had to get up to answer the door.
"Hey we're in luck, you guys. It's the lovely
Agent Scully come to visit - and spooky too."
The other men rolled their eyes, all too aware
of Frohicke's little crush on Scully.
	"Let 'em in." Langly called.
Frohicke opened the door and grinned as he
watched Mulder and Scully walk in.
"Hey sorry to interrupt poker night, guys."
Mulder called, tossing his trenchcoat on the table.
Scully did the same.
"We just recovered a disk from the Mizuno
project and it's decoded and encrypted. Can you help
us out?" Scully held up a small CD.
"Sure thing." Frohicke rolled over to the
computer and turned it on. Scully handed him the disk
and he got to work right away.
The other gunmen sat down at the card table.
'Since Frohicks is out, Langly, I guess you're saved.'
Byers quipped.
"No fair!" Frohicke called from the computer.
"Mulder, can you take my place? I'll split the winnings
with you."
"Sure." Mulder sat down in the fold out chair
and looked at the cards.
"It's a conspiracy against me.." Langly muttered.
Scully heard and laughed.
"Why do you guys get to have all the fun?"
"YOU play poker?" all four men said in unison.
"Yes." she said crossly. 'You don't grow up
with two older brother and not learn how to play cards."
"We vote." Byers volunteered. "Anyone who
thinks we should let the fair and innocent Scully into
our game raise your hand."
	Four hands went up.
"Then it's decided. Scully, you're in." Mulder
said quickly. Langly dealt her five cards and the play
began.

9:12 PM
Within five hands, Scully had won back most of
Langly's money. Frohicke came back and joined them,
having set the computer to work through its program.
"OK, I see you 2.50 and raise you ten dollars."
Mulder said smugly. He knew his hand was good.
Byers looked at the pile of chips in the middle
of the table. "I don't want to lose any money. I'm
out."
"I see your ten, and raise you fifteen" a
confident Scully said.
Langly gave a low whistle "This is where I
draw the line."
Frohicke also laid down his cards.
Mulder glanced t his hand again, and slowly
gathered 35 dollars' worth of chips. There's your fifteen,
and another twenty."
Scully's face stayed frozen. She silently
pushed all her chips into the middle. "Twenty, and
twenty more."
"Uh. Byers, come here a sec." the man got up and
crouched next to Mulder. The agent showed him his hand.
"Can I borrow fifty bucks?"
"Sure" Byers ginned, tossing the bill on the
table.
"Ok," Mulder declared. "I call." he spread out
four queens and an ace.
"Oh darn." Scully sighed, and showed her hand.
A king, a king, a two, a king, and a king. "I win."
she smiled slowly.
All four men just started at the cards on the
table.
"I hate poker." Mulder said slowly as Scully
began gathering up chips.
Suddenly, Byers jumped up and said "Conference,
guys." the three lone gunmen went over to the other
side of the room and started talking heatedly. Byers
was gesturing madly, Langly was laughing, and Frohicke
grumbled.
Suddenly Langly turned to Mulder and Scully.
"Mulder, it seems that you owe Byers a sum of fifty
dollars. Is that not correct?"
	"I really hate poker."
"Well, As good friends and associates, we find
that you find some way to repay Byers." Langly paced
around the room, starting to look like a detective
figuring out a case.
"I am never playing poker again." Mulder
declared, warily watching Langly.
"And for you to repay our dear friend Byers, we
have decided on your duty."
Mulder's anxiety increased as they called Scully
over. The conversation continued, with Scully nodding
frequently.
"And your duty is to bestow the fair Dana Katherine
Scully a kiss."
He wasn't exactly expecting that, but who cares?
Mulder had been dying to kiss his partner since the
first day she had walked into his office.
Mulder stood up and walked over to Scully. The
three lone gunmen quickly cleared out.
Afraid of wrecking the partnership, Mulder
kissed her lightly on the cheek.
	"Ok, guys."
"Come on, Mulder you can do better than that!"
Langly cried.
"*I* can do better than that!" Frohicke said.
'Ok, If they want a show, we'll give them one.'
Mulder thought. Wrapping his arm around her waist, he
pulled Scully closer.
Dana wasn't totally sure of what was happening,
all she knew that it was happening very fast.
He grinned at Scully once, and then kissed her
firmly.
Scully didn't know what to do. Since that time
on their first case where Mulder had poured out the story
about his sister to her, Scully had know she was totally,
truly and undeniably in love with "Spooky" Fox Mulder.
She didn't want to risk their friendship either. 'What
the hell?' Scully thought, and slipped her arms around
her partner's neck. 'May as well take advantage of the
situation.'
The lone gunmen just stared in shock as they saw
Mulder and Scully, kissing each other passionately.
After a while, Mulder pulled away. Smiling down
at Scully, he said "I love poker."
